My cat was in kidney failure, and I was referred to Dr. Hickin after a bad experience with another vet. Dr. Hickin is amazing and helped give my Zoey quality of life for most of the last year of her life. Our current pets are patients & the care is exceptional with all the vets at this practice. Can't recommend these folks enough!

If I were a pet, I would want my human parents to take me here. The friendly and caring staff and doctors giving quality care is all anyone could ask for. Appointments are kept well with little wait time in the waiting area which is very helpful for shy fur-babies; it's bad enough to be dragged out of house and home to go to the Vet much less have to hang out with other animals you don't know. The wait in the service room is short too. A friendly and caring Vet Tech does a quick check in and determines the purpose of the visit. The the Doc comes in with an idea and some background of your pet (return visitors ) and takes care of everything in a clear and effective way. All questions are clearly answered and and follow up needed fully explained. A quick handling of the bilk and we're back home, safe and sound in no time. That is how it gets done right.

I found this vets office many years ago when my Guinea Pig was experiencing renal failure and needed to be put down. They were the most affordable office to help my poor dear piggie, she was in so much pain. Since then Dr. Harris, Dr. Hicken, and Dr. Crock have been wonderful caring veterinarians. They have helped me through the loss of fur babies, as well as keep my Dogs Bailey & Lillian and Cats Shadow, Paws, and Tigger healthy. I have had 12 teeth extracted here for my poo...r Spencer my Lynx Point Siamese (RIP 2012) as he had an auto immune disease. He was sick when I adopted him and they were generous and very affordable in helping me care for him till his eventual death just about a year after I adopted him. Bailey my Golden Retriever had an Ulcer I think 3 or 4 years ago, she is not a young girl, however their care has kept her young and they have help me manage her allergies wonderfully. I don't think I could ever find better care for my animals. The fact that they treat small animals is wonderful. I give the props because so many veterinarians only treat larger animals with expertise. I cannot praise the staff or doctors enough. Thanks guys for your loving care of my babies. :) :) :) See More

This place is AMAZING and needs a 10+++++ star rating. Found this place because of a horrible vet we were dealing with before who said that our 10 yr old (at the time) golden lab needed an immediate rectal surgery which I knew was no where near the case due to diarrhea and her rectum being a little swollen. The prior vet did NO TESTING whatsoever to prove that it was "cancer" which was what they were claiming. I stumbled upon Pataskala Animal Hospital when searching for a second opinion on our pup and when going in to see Dr. Harris it was the most reassuring visit that we could have asked for. Our pup actually has colitis and DOES NOT have cancer like they claimed. Ever since then this has been our go to place and we wouldn't change it for the world. Dr. Harris and the AMAZING staff there at Pataskala Animal Hospital even make accommodations for my mom who is disabled. Love this place and ALL our family pets are seen here now. Our beloved yorkie silky mix rest his soul was also saved here and his life expectancy was a lot longer than expected due to Dr. Harris and the staff here as well because they were the ONLY vet that was able to get his sugars under control while he was still here with us which made him live a lot longer which gave us some more quality time with our baby before it was his time. I cant say thank you enough to the staff here for all that they have done would never go anywhere else.... Love you all keep doing what you all do. You are amazing and compassionate.

Today after many years of my animals being patients of The Animal Hospital of Pataskala Dr Tammy Hickin. I had to have my records transferred to another facility. I never thought this very caring hands on professional Facility that had cared for my Chloe and my Daisy and now my Sophie. I did not realize my pup needed her 3 yr rabies shot before she could be groomed or be boarded even though they did give me plenty of reminders my error I was leaving out of town and I neede...d the rabies shot today when I called to make appointment I asked the receptionist to please see if I could get Sophie in but there was no openings and I completely understood that so I asked the receptionist where I could go get one today any other facilities or suggestions to help me out she not only could not help me her suggestion was I should go somewhere else and see another Doctor to get the shot and therefore she would be happy to transfer all my records to go somewhere else as a New Patient .. I was so shocked I was treated that way... I have been a patient for years there Why would I want to go to a new Doctor that day ..I did find another Veterinary office who was kind enough to see us as a New Patient. When I arrived at the office there were no records faxed to them like I was told would happen ..I do want to thank Dr Hickin for taking such good care of all my animals these past years.. I always thought I would continue with this facility with my new puppy but after today I reluctantly moved on ..I work at a Phys office for 15 yrs and we have always bent over backwards for our patients to help accommodate them but not turn them away so easily what is this world coming to .. I only had 1 visit here, but it was by far the best vet I have ever used. My cat was extremely sick when I brought her in and Dr. Hickin was amazing and explained everything. We got referred to MedVet where I had to put my cat to sleep the next day. The most amazing part was, even though I only took Jill here once, They sent me A personalized sympathy card and poem. I will definitely use them when I get a new for baby.

The entire team here is great but we especially love Dr. Justin. They don't try to push unnecessary products or procedures at you and they always go the extra mile to ensure that our pup is taken care of. We recently brought our dog in for frequent urination issues and after an x-ray determined that she had several bladder stones that were too large to pass. Because it was very close to Thanksgiving and the office would be closed for a few days, they fit her in for surgery to have them removed a few days later. The surgery went great and our little pup is almost good as new now. I was super thankful that they took the issue seriously from the beginning and didn't just assume that it was a simple UTI or something and try to treat it with meds. They are great and have customers for life!

They're all super nice and friendly. And they aren't fake; they truly love animals! Dr. Harris always takes his time to thoroughly answer any questions I may have and is very knowledgeable about everything. He also explains it to where I understand everything clearly. He doesn't make me feel stupid about the strange questions I sometimes do have either. I will continue to bring all of my animals here because they are treated like children instead of pets! I love this place! The doctors are great! I have never had a problem getting in quickly. We bring both our pets here and they get treated like royalty. You can really tell that Dr. Justin and his staff love animals. One time my cat developed an abscess that burst. My husband was not home and I was on my way to work. I called the office and they told me to bring him in right away. Dr. Justin looked at it, trimmed the dead skin away and sent us on our way. No charge. Where do you find that kind of service anymore. The cat's wound healed and his fur grew back. You can't even tell where it was.

Over a few days time I noticed that my dachshund rex was just not eating anything and did not want to move around really at all. We were really concerned so we brought him into Pataskala to get looked at and he needed to undergo and emergency surgery, in which the ended up saving his life! He had a wonderful recovery shortly after and the staff was just so caring, they show a lot of pride in what they do there. The vets and vet technicians here are all very kind and giving. You can tell they really care about your pets. We have a dog and cat and neither ever liked going to the vet. Our dog's tail would go between her legs and she'd be shaking in the waiting room at our old vet in California. But here, after her first visit, she is totally fine with coming to the vet!The doctors do little things like trim her nails at no extra cost. We live closer to Granville but the vet there is a lot more expensive and they charge for every little thing -- the bill really adds up fast there. So it's worth the drive to the Animal Hospital of Pataskala. Love that place.

We've got to talk to and work with a number of different vets there since we are not particular about needing to always see the same vet. I have no recommendations for any one vet since I like them all and trust our dog with them.

If I were a pet, I would want my human parents to take me here. The friendly and caring staff and doctors giving quality care is all anyone could ask for. Appointments are kept well with little wait time in the waiting area which is very helpful for shy fur-babies; it's bad enough to be dragged out of house and home to go to the Vet much less have to hang out with other animals you don't know. The wait in the service room is short too. A friendly and caring Vet Tech does a quick check in and determines the purpose of the visit. The the Doc comes in with an idea and some background of your pet (return visitors ) and takes care of everything in a clear and effective way. All questions are clearly answered and and follow up needed fully explained. A quick handling of the bilk and we're back home, safe and sound in no time. That is how it gets done right.

I found this vets office many years ago when my Guinea Pig was experiencing renal failure and needed to be put down. They were the most affordable office to help my poor dear piggie, she was in so much pain. Since then Dr. Harris, Dr. Hicken, and Dr. Crock have been wonderful caring veterinarians. They have helped me through the loss of fur babies, as well as keep my Dogs Bailey & Lillian and Cats Shadow, Paws, and Tigger healthy. I have had 12 teeth extracted here for my poo...r Spencer my Lynx Point Siamese (RIP 2012) as he had an auto immune disease. He was sick when I adopted him and they were generous and very affordable in helping me care for him till his eventual death just about a year after I adopted him. Bailey my Golden Retriever had an Ulcer I think 3 or 4 years ago, she is not a young girl, however their care has kept her young and they have help me manage her allergies wonderfully. I don't think I could ever find better care for my animals. The fact that they treat small animals is wonderful. I give the props because so many veterinarians only treat larger animals with expertise. I cannot praise the staff or doctors enough. Thanks guys for your loving care of my babies. :) :) :) See More

This place is AMAZING and needs a 10+++++ star rating. Found this place because of a horrible vet we were dealing with before who said that our 10 yr old (at the time) golden lab needed an immediate rectal surgery which I knew was no where near the case due to diarrhea and her rectum being a little swollen. The prior vet did NO TESTING whatsoever to prove that it was "cancer" which was what they were claiming. I stumbled upon Pataskala Animal Hospital when searching for a second opinion on our pup and when going in to see Dr. Harris it was the most reassuring visit that we could have asked for. Our pup actually has colitis and DOES NOT have cancer like they claimed. Ever since then this has been our go to place and we wouldn't change it for the world. Dr. Harris and the AMAZING staff there at Pataskala Animal Hospital even make accommodations for my mom who is disabled. Love this place and ALL our family pets are seen here now. Our beloved yorkie silky mix rest his soul was also saved here and his life expectancy was a lot longer than expected due to Dr. Harris and the staff here as well because they were the ONLY vet that was able to get his sugars under control while he was still here with us which made him live a lot longer which gave us some more quality time with our baby before it was his time. I cant say thank you enough to the staff here for all that they have done would never go anywhere else.... Love you all keep doing what you all do. You are amazing and compassionate.

Today after many years of my animals being patients of The Animal Hospital of Pataskala Dr Tammy Hickin. I had to have my records transferred to another facility. I never thought this very caring hands on professional Facility that had cared for my Chloe and my Daisy and now my Sophie. I did not realize my pup needed her 3 yr rabies shot before she could be groomed or be boarded even though they did give me plenty of reminders my error I was leaving out of town and I neede...d the rabies shot today when I called to make appointment I asked the receptionist to please see if I could get Sophie in but there was no openings and I completely understood that so I asked the receptionist where I could go get one today any other facilities or suggestions to help me out she not only could not help me her suggestion was I should go somewhere else and see another Doctor to get the shot and therefore she would be happy to transfer all my records to go somewhere else as a New Patient .. I was so shocked I was treated that way... I have been a patient for years there Why would I want to go to a new Doctor that day ..I did find another Veterinary office who was kind enough to see us as a New Patient. When I arrived at the office there were no records faxed to them like I was told would happen ..I do want to thank Dr Hickin for taking such good care of all my animals these past years.. I always thought I would continue with this facility with my new puppy but after today I reluctantly moved on ..I work at a Phys office for 15 yrs and we have always bent over backwards for our patients to help accommodate them but not turn them away so easily what is this world coming to .. We got referred to MedVet where I had to put my cat to sleep the next day. The most amazing part was, even though I only took Jill here once, They sent me A personalized sympathy card and poem. I will definitely use them when I get a new for baby.

The entire team here is great but we especially love Dr. Justin. They don't try to push unnecessary products or procedures at you and they always go the extra mile to ensure that our pup is taken care of. We recently brought our dog in for frequent urination issues and after an x-ray determined that she had several bladder stones that were too large to pass. Because it was very close to Thanksgiving and the office would be closed for a few days, they fit her in for surgery to have them removed a few days later. The surgery went great and our little pup is almost good as new now. I was super thankful that they took the issue seriously from the beginning and didn't just assume that it was a simple UTI or something and try to treat it with meds. They are great and have customers for life!

Two weeks ago we noticed a lump on our dachshund Pebbles we got her in immediately .Our doctor was concerned about her back because she was weak doctor said the mass was probably not much to worry about! To shorten this mess we ended up at OSU animal hospital Pebbles was not diagnosed correctly !!! Our baby girl had infection through her entire body and had to be put down! Our hearts are broken because Reynoldsburg animal hospital !!! Please trust your gut feeling with your pets!!! So we are here at this new hospital I give it a 5

My family has been taking our pets here for 20 years, and we've never been disappointed. They always take such wonderful care of our pets, and are really willing to go the extra mile for them. When our kitten got sick with FIP, our vet opened the clinic after hours so we could bring her in. I would most definitely recommend them to any pet owner in a heartbeat!

We bring both our pets here and they get treated like royalty. You can really tell that Dr. Justin and his staff love animals. One time my cat developed an abscess that burst. My husband was not home and I was on my way to work. I called the office and they told me to bring him in right away. Dr. Justin looked at it, trimmed the dead skin away and sent us on our way. No charge. Where do you find that kind of service anymore. The cat's wound healed and his fur grew back. You can't even tell where it was.

The whole staff was very caring and professional. Dr. Justin took care of my dog without over doing the tests. Saved me lots of time and money! I would highly recommend this vet hospital!

Over a few days time I noticed that my dachshund rex was just not eating anything and did not want to move around really at all. We were really concerned so we brought him into Pataskala to get looked at and he needed to undergo and emergency surgery, in which the ended up saving his life! He had a wonderful recovery shortly after and the staff was just so caring, they show a lot of pride in what they do there. I am so happy I know I can take my dog locally to a place that offers top notch care! Thank you! - dachshund lover

The vets and vet technicians here are all very kind and giving. You can tell they really care about your pets. We have a dog and cat and neither ever liked going to the vet. Our dog's tail would go between her legs and she'd be shaking in the waiting room at our old vet in California. But here, after her first visit, she is totally fine with coming to the vet!The doctors do little things like trim her nails at no extra cost. We live closer to Granville but the vet there is a lot more expensive and they charge for every little thing -- the bill really adds up fast there. So it's worth the drive to the Animal Hospital of Pataskala. Love that place.

We have been brining our dog here for the last 8 years. The care and attention that the vets give our dog is great. It is clear they love animals and genuinely want to help and be around them. We've got to talk to and work with a number of different vets there since we are not particular about needing to always see the same vet. I have no recommendations for any one vet since I like them all and trust our dog with them.
