Wellness exams might prompt an appointment, or perhaps updated vaccines and recent changes in behavior are other possible starting points. Veterinarians look for early indications of joint stiffness, weight changes, skin irritation, and many other potential problems. An initial concentrated operational approach forestalls potential problems while each subsequent veterinary meeting adds new “blocks” to the holistic understanding of how well a pet’s organism functions. The following healthcare services include dental checks, postoperative visits, medication monitoring, and other diagnostic tests. Laboratory tools such as blood panels, fecal exams, and urinalysis help identify the source of the pet’s distress, fatigue or allergy-related symptoms. The healthcare plan strategies derive from the data we have gathered in combination with the physical signs and owner insights to ensure they remain applicable in real-life settings. The clinic also works with pets from multi-pet households as well as single-pet homes. Additionally, the clinic offers support to aging and recuperating pets. Healthcare specialists observe the patient’s progress during return visits and address issues related to prescription refills, diet changes, energy levels, and behavioral patterns. Detailed documentation also assists in maintaining continuity of care in the long term by bridging gaps between visits. Community Veterinary Clinic provides Plain City-based treatment plans for acute cases and routine care milestones. The advice given at each visit is intricately interwoven with seasonal alterations, local health tendencies, and familial predilections. The strategy is aimed at enabling comfort while eliminating uncertainty and ensuring that the pets are on the wellness path in all stages of their lives.

For routine shots and checkups they are fine. But don't take a sick dog there, apparently Dr. Allen doesn't know what the most common form of cancer is for a dog. I took my dog there because she was not eating, losing weight, and had lumps. Apparently Dr Allen is scared of boxers, he wouldn't get near her and told us not to let her bite him. Anyone that knew my dog knows she was the biggest sweet heart. She was pulling on her leash so she was straining which made her cough. He said oh she just has a sore throat and left the room. Came back, made us hold her down. Gave her a shot and gave her antibiotics. That was it. We went on our way. One week later she was not any better. I took her to my sister's vet in Grove city and he knew right away after feeling her he thought she had lymphoma. A bunch of her lymph nodes were swollen. Her stomach was huge. They did a blood test and her liver levels were really high. They ordered another test to confirm it was lymphoma and another week later it came back positive. She died the same week. Dr Allen misdiagnosed cancer for a sore throat. Some vet he is. Don't go here. Read Less

This was not my normal vet, but I went here based on a recommendation from a friend. My vet wanted 459 dollars to spay my 50 pound dog. That's just highway robbery in my opinion. So I scheduled an appointment at Pleasant Valley and only paid 225. Granted, the cheaper price is not always the way to go. Every situation and purchase has its own unique considerations. In this case though, the care was wonderful and they were qualified for the job the same as my own vet. I'm just very aware of price gouging! Pleasant Valley did a great job and I had no complaints whatsoever. Their price also included take home prescriptions for my baby after her surgery. She is doing well and healing beautifully and of course, I was happy to get the lower price for the same exceptional care that my vet would have provided. Read Less

I don't typically post reviews, but for this particular instance, I felt it was necessary. I came to this vet a few months back for a routine exam (the first one my kittens had had.) Dr. Allen wasn't in, but the staff that was left to help me was equally helpful considering it was only a checkup. That was... until we went into the exam room. The woman/nurse/doctor/ WHOEVER who saw my cats was completely rude and DIDN'T EVEN LOOK AT MY CATS! Now, these are the first cats I've ever owned and it was a first vet visit for all of us, but I'm pretty sure they're at least supposed to look in their ears/mouth! The wait wasn't terrible, and for the price, I guess you kinda get what you pay for. However, this bad experience hadn't completely steered me away from Pleasant Valley Vet Hospital, as I'd heard great things about Dr. Allen. Recently, I took one of my kittens back to Dr. Allen because he had been suffering from an upper respiratory infection, along with a swollen eye and nosebleeds. After frantically searching the web for some kind of indicator on what my cat had, all signs pointed to feline chlamydia. Of course, I'm no doctor. After listing off his symptoms to the staff at the front desk, I was taken to one of the exam rooms where a nurse came to "check him out." By that, I mean she pet him with rubber gloves on while I told her his symptoms, I kid you not, she did nothing to inspect the wellbeing of my cat whatsoever! She put her rubber gloves on only to stroke his fur on the exam table. I thought "Okay, maybe she's only here to listen to his symptoms." Dr. Allen walks in a few minutes later looking at his chart (doesn't even say hello or introduce himself. Really?) and instantly diagnoses my kitten's disease. Without even looking at him! He says it's calicivirus. At the time, I didn't protest his diagnosis because I was relieved to finally be able to put a name to the condition my fur baby had (and it had a better ring than "feline chlamydia.") After telling me "It's calici. It's fixed with antibiotics," the doctor walks out of the room without saying anything else. To be clear, at this point, no doctor or nurse had taken more than a glance at my cat. Here's what pissed me off: Dr. Allen walks back in several minutes later holding a needle. I had no idea what was going on, no one had told me what kind of antibiotics were needed or how they were going to be administered. Without warning, Dr. Allen pushes my cat into the exam table with one hand, shoves the needle into him with the other. No warning at all! I was absolutely livid. The staff at this vet do a terrible job communicating with their patients. At the time, my fiancee and I were very strapped for money, so I curiously asked the doctor (as I had intended to do BEFORE the shot was forced onto my cat) what the estimated price of the vaccine was going to be. He asked me "Are you asking me how much you have invested in this cat?" Are you kidding me? My intention was to get his opinion and run with it to another vet who might give me a more assuring diagnosis, one who'd actually look at him before reading a few symptoms on a chart and giving me an answer. (I managed to look at the symptoms the nurse wrote down, she left out a few important ones including the nosebleeds.) For the rest of the visit, he was condescending, all because I asked about how much the medicine would cost. I think it's more appropriate for a doctor's office to keep you updated with your bill as the visit progresses, rather than surprise you at the end. After all, the reason you're coming to this vet is either because it's cheap or you live close. I left with an inexpensive bill, yes, but my cat's condition worsened. The shot was very irritating to him for days after and gave him a horrible skabby rash right between the shoulder blades. This whole experience was an absolute nightmare. To restate what a few other reviews before me have said, don't come here if it's important. If your animal is sick, take them elsewhere otherwise you're kinda getting ripped off anyway. Decent for a routine exam. Read Less

My mother-in-law called ahead to ask the cost for hospitalizing a puppy with parvo. She was informed by Mrs.Allen that she could have an appointment to discuss treatment and that they could care for the dog with no problem. When she arrived that evening with the puppy, the staff immediately panicked and began running around frantically upon being advised that he had parvo. She was taken to a room and left alone for an hour. Nobody checked on them. Finally someone came to the doorway to advise that they could not help her and that she needed to leave immediately. As she was leaving, they told her that her bill was on the counter. After arguing with the staff for a few minutes that she had no reason to pay them, she ended up leaving $35 shorter than what she came and with no help or advise. She called the next day and spoke to Mr. Allen about what had happened and he told her that his staff advised she had allowed her dog to run around and poop all over the office. In reality the dog had never left her arms or lap throughout the visit and did not use the bathroom once. He told her she was a liar. These are dishonest people who do not care about your pets. Do not go here. Don't waste your time driving to plain city. There are many other, better, honest vets in the central Ohio area. Read Less

Dr.

Read Less
