I took my Shih Tzu Snoopy to get groomed and he never trusts anyone so every time he got groomed he needed to be sedated however I don’t know how but Dee was able to get him groomed, for the first time without sedation and he was ok with her... I was so grateful and surprised that it made me emotional just to see how good he was without being sedated and this was the first time ever and first time being at Hillview Veterinary clinics and their grooming spa. We moved to Reynoldsburg 2 months ago, I took our dog Ozzie to the groomer @ hillview last week, he was happy and we were happy with the service the groomer provided. First of all Mary is the sweetest receptionist I've ever met. She was so sweet and welcoming she sincerely deserves a raise. The vet tech was very good with my extremely scared cat. There prices are awesome, they have a wonderful deal for new clients only $1 for an exam. The veterinarian himself is also very nice. My cat has to have a few teeth extracted and the price for that was a lot less then I expected. I will be using them for my animals from now on. Read Less

I am a long-time client of Hillview Veterinary Clinic and love Dr. Josh and his staff! My Mandy had been showing signs of age with apparent discomfort in her hips. She had been taking medicine, sometimes after putting up quite a fight or trickery to get her to take it! Then Dr. Josh talked to me about laser light therapy for her. What a difference it has made for Mandy! Her mobility has improved noticeably and I can't thank Dr. Josh enough for offering this form of therapy for her. I know that when my other "baby", Mr. Darcy, begins to experience any age related discomfort in his joints I will opt for the laser light therapy for him in a heartbeat! Mr. Pete's owner passed away and we agreed to take this 8 year old Standard Poodle for a month. Mr. Pete was diagnosed with a spinal nerve injury and was a miserable physically limited dog with chronic pain. Surgery was not a viable option. We were considering acupuncture and chiropractor therapy. On a whim we decided to try the 1$ consulting offer. Dr. Joshua recommended hot laser therapy. We had some misgivings but investigated this therapy and decided to give it a try. Dr. Joshua helped us with cost issues and after 14 sessions Mr. Pete is so happy and crazy active. Took our dog in because she was not eating or drinking. Wanted a full cheek up. Dr. Harper said it was because she had inflamed gum on one side. Gave her two shots, prescribed two meds and said she would be fine. Our dog died the next morning. TOTAL MISDIAGNOSIS. She wasn't eating or drinking because she was Dying. The vet asistant asked me why i was there i told her i was looking for a new veternarian closer to home and to have my dog examined really well for skin problems she took my dog away from me took him behind closed doors out of my view gave him to a doctor that i have never met and then Dr Halper (introduced himself after treating my dog) came out and told me what he DID to my dog. He shaved a spot and injected him with something that he said wont cure the problem (so why give it to him) and a perscription for some pills that should help slow down the itching he didnt tell me anything else about the healh of my dog or any further treatments that would be made known at the exam I FELT THAT THIS WAS THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE IVE EVER RECEIVED FROM ANY VETERNARIAN! I was hoping that this clinic would be a place where I could take my dogs for their vet care. I made an appointment for a puppy to have a health certificate done so she could fly under the seat with her new owners. When I arrived we were put in a rather warm room (hot and steamy outdoors) and then greeted by a vet tech. She took the information and said she'd be back. A few minutes later she took the puppy out to be weighed. Then came back and asked for more info. Next she took my puppy back to the vet, where I suppose he did the exam. I never saw him examine her. The tech came back again and told me that she needed a bordetella vaccine. I said no she doesn't need one now she's only 10 weeks old. Vet tech said it would be fine at this age and I said NO I don't want her to get that vaccine at 10 weeks and it's better to give when they're older at least 14-16 weeks. Finally vet did come into the room with me and the pup. Rather abrupt. Apparently he doesn't need new clients? I have multiple dogs. He could've been nice and might have gained new client but he blew it imho. He might have veterinary expertise but how can you evaluate someone that you've never seen with your animal? A locally/independently owned and operated vet, they proudly boast that they've been open for over 20 years now.  I recently adopted a stray kitten who just followed me into my gym, and needed to get her checked up.  Hillview is all of 3 minutes away from my house, and they offer $1 head to tail checkup if you mention the Internet special (make sure you mention it when they tell you the bill, they didn't remember that we'd talked about it over the phone).They were quick to get us checked in, and the paperwork for a new animal wasn't cumbersome.  Staff was friendly and easy to talk to.  They determined that my poor kitty had ear mites (we already knew that) and hook worms (didn't know that).  For less than $175 they did the head to tail checkup, gave her a pill to get rid of the worms (and any other parasites they didn't catch), drops for her ear mites, analyzed a stool sample (how they found the worms), did blood work to test for leukemia, and gave her all of her shots/vaccinations.One thing that did bug me was they were very insistent on scheduling to spay her on our vaccination booster visit in 3 weeks.  While I do want to get my cat spayed, their price is very high (over $100 I believe).  I plan to take her to one of the low cost spay/neuter clinics in the area to get it done for less than half that cost.Overall this place is great; I plan to keep them as my long term vet for this beautiful cat. As me and my girlfriend walked into Hillview Veterinary Clinic we was told they do payment plans they have several signs that said we do payment plans but when we went to pay they told us we had to fill it out online before we even arrived. Not only does that not make since i thought the bill was going to be 1/10th of what it was. Then they acted like we couldn't leave even though they had our name cell phone and SS numbers. We got a bill for almost 200 dollars for a basic checkup even with their one dollar examine coupon somehow we still racked up a 200 dollar bill. The doctor talked very fast and kept suggesting things for the dogs then would just follow through and do it. Since my dog was pregnant he suggestion a x-ray saying it would let us know everything we wanted to know. He charged us 100 bucks for the x-ray only to come back and say I cant tell anything by the x-ray. When asked if i could have a copy of the x-ray (to see if he even did one) they told me it would be another charge so we didn't even get to look at the x-ray. I left feeling very ripped off and would have caused a big scene if it wasn't for my girlfriend. This place will take you for whatever they can get. If you don't value your hard earned cash then this would be a great place for you.Read Less

The staff and Dr. Josh Halper have given us the best of care for almost 14 years. He's gotten Molly through some rough times including poisioning from bad doggie treats from a foreign country sold at our box store! It appears she suffered some liver damage from that but he is supporting her well with supplements. Dr. Halper is currently keeping our dogs arthritis pain under good control with laser treatments. Its amazing, he's amazing! His practice includes the Hospital Clinic, a Doggie Daycare (grooming also available) and a Bed & Biscuit Boarding. Dr. Halper and his staff are very compassionate.
