Hillcrest Animal Hospital

Richmond Heights, Ohio
General Info
Hillcrest Animal Hospital in Richmond Heights designs veterinary appointments as dynamic exchanges that evolve based on a pet's real-time observations and reactions. This responsive model supports homes throughout Ohio. The first interactions between individuals frequently occur without verbal communication. Before initiating any hands-on examination the team deciphers tail position spatial hesitation and micro-responses. Each room's lighting and scent levels can be adjusted to prevent startle reflexes from being triggered. The scheduling of appointments follows the unique control timeline set by each pet. Certain practitioners initiate their assessments through orthopedic examinations while others start with basic observational scans based on detected tension patterns. Hillcrest Animal Hospital delivers multispecies support through diagnostics lab work illness intervention orthopedic support dermatological care and oral health services. Examinations may adjust their sequences by skipping steps or reordering them when indicators such as lip licking paw withdrawal shifting gaze appear. The evaluation of pain indicators relies on examining posture and breathing patterns instead of vocalization alone—this approach proves essential for stoic breeds and prey-species animals. Post-treatment phases promote re-acclimation processes. The briefing process for families covers recognition of persistent behavioral responses alongside secondary stress indicators and the situations where decompression needs should take precedence over immediate activities. Home care plans focus on the pet's sensory threshold instead of solely physical recovery benchmarks. Hillcrest Animal Hospital delivers veterinary care to Ohio families through a unique approach that blends clinical expertise with conversational techniques to understand animal signals of comfort confusion and calm.

My pets have been going to Dr .Cummings for over 20 years. She and her staff are competent, caring, and responsive to my pets needs. I have taken them to both locations at Hillcrest and Summit animal hospitals where quality services were provided . In addition to medical services my pets have also been boarded and groomed . I am most impressed with the time taken to education me on the best ways to keep my pets healthy and in the best condition. My dog and cats love their vet. Thank you. Read Less

Make sure you ask about the price of each service they might offer. Friendly people but some services were provided without consultation, resulting in unforseen costs.

Refused to care for my pet because she got a rabies vaccine from another vet. I suspect money is the priority.

This establishment is SO RUDE that I felt I had to write a review. I am new to the area and missed my turn to the doggie daycare next door so I pulled over into the vet's parking lot to turn around. I wasn't quite sure how far back the daycare was and I was getting my bearings when the someone from the vet's office came to demand what I was doing (very angrily and rudely) and when I tried to explain that I'd missed my turn she interrupted, yelling that I couldn't park there. I was shocked at how nasty her attitude was. For context, the vet office was closed so it isn't as if my parking there for a moment was preventing clients from parking. I understand that the vet would not want to have their parking lot used as overflow parking for the daycare, but that is not what I was doing. Yeah, there is more to a vet than politeness, but any business does need to be civil and employees need to control their tempers. I'd never take my dog to an establishment where I was likely to be yelled at for a minor transgression. I asked around and apparently this rudeness is typical. You'd think a vet would want to be on good terms with doggie daycare clients--they'd be potential vet clients--it does not make sense to antagonize them. Read Less

My dog would not have had the life he did if it were not for the amazing people that care for all animals.
