General Info
The Animal Medical Center of Springboro has been providing cutting-edge compassionate care since it first opened its doors in 1961. For over 40 years, Dr. Fred Gunther directed veterinary care at the AMC, providing top notch veterinary care and boarding services to the Springboro area. In 2001, leadership of the clinic was passed on to the current Medical Director, Dr. William Martin, who expanded veterinary care services to include endoscopy, ultrasonography and advanced orthopedic services.
Beginning in 2012, the AMC underwent a major renovation and expansion to incorporate more exam rooms, larger treatment and surgery suites, separate feline boarding facilities, and an intensive care unit. The renovations were completed in the Spring of 2014 and have allowed the Animal Medical Center to continue it's ongoing mission to provide the most advanced care possible to the pets and pet parents of Springboro and the Greater Dayton Metropolitan Area.

Had to have my car fixed and they worked with me on my work hours by letting him spend the night so he could have surgery the next morning. When we picked him up the doctor had a private one on one with us on what to expect and asked us of any concerns. I'll definitely be taking both my fur babies only there

We were referred to Dr. Martin for an ultrasound and possible surgery on our dog’s tumor. From start to finish the staff was caring and pleasant and Dr. Martin went the extra mile to make sure we had time to ask all our questions. He squeezed our dog in for surgery very quickly once we knew that was what needed to be done. We ultimately chose to put our dog to sleep as the outcome of the tumor was poor. However, I would recommend Dr. Martin and his clinic without reservation to anyone with a pet! It’s tough to find a vet this good that also has such compassion to pet and owner alike.

I don't normally write reviews, But I have to say how amazing this vet is. I hope everyone in the office sees this so they know how much they are appreciated. From the service at the front desk to the attention from the vets and techs, shows that they really care. You are not just a number to them. I had to say goodbye to my 14 year old dog very recently and I cant describe the level of support they provided. They even sent flowers the day after I had to put him to sleep. They have helped so much through this process and I want everyone there to know how grateful I am. I will never go to another vet. Thank you so much for what you do.

I've been taking my pup here since he was little. (About 3 1/2 years now) and we just recently got a kitten that has been going here as well. We started off with Dr.hanhart who was amazing and when our pup needed knee surgery we started dealing with Dr.martin. shortly after, Dr.hanhart left the practice and we've been with Dr.martin since. He's done surgery on both of our fur babies now. He's very informative and calm with all my questions and concerns. The staff is amazing as well. They know just how to handle my pup and his hyper personality. I believe you get what you pay for and my animals will never go anywhere else. Because I've developed such a strong love and trust for this place. Highly recommend them!

Hands down the BEST Vet's office around! There is no replacing Dr. Martin! I met him about 12 years ago when my dog was misdiagnosed by another Vet in Springboro and almost had me put my sweet girl to sleep...THANKFULLY I got over 11 more years with her after that! Dr. Martin and his staff are all so very compassionate! I love all of them. They all have shown my pups a tremendous amount of love every time they were in there. Whether it be for an annual checkup, or unfortunately for chemo treatments! But up until the very last day, my girls loved going in and visiting and getting spoiled with lots of "cookies" and kisses! Now my new princess, well....she tries to hide under the table until Dr. Martin busts out the "cookies"...she is part pig!!! LOVE MY AMC people!!! Blessed to have met them all!!! Might I mention, Dr. Martin and his staff also go out of their way on follow ups...which is def a different experience from other vets!!

I brought a cat in with a long-standing issue, but was made to wait for nearly 20 minutes without any follow-up. I went to the receptionist desk for a few minutes but they were focused on other clients, so I left the premises a bit irritated. Fast forward to a month and a half later, I inadvertently called them up for the same issue, but was told by the receptionist, "you might want to find another vet.", and hung up on me while I was explaining. I've never had such a rude interaction in any venue. I do not recommend whatsoever.

Yesterday, my son had to say goodbye to his beloved English Bull Dog Bogart. Dr Hanhart was so caring and compassionate with the procedure, he made it easier for us. "Bogie" was one of those special pets who stayed by my son during very difficult years.Two years ago, Dr Hanhart and Dr. Martin also diagnosed and helped save my Scottish Terrier with a serious liver condition-she is still with us. We will always be grateful and highly recommend this center for "state of the art" quality care, honesty, and compassion.

I have a bichon frise and five cats. I take all my pets to the Animal Medical Center in Springboro because their staff is kind professional and very knowledgeable in their care. I switched from another provider because I was so impressed with Dr. Martin. He's very learned about dogs and cats, and is a wonderful surgeon. My dog had ACL surgery on both legs about seven or eight years ago and has never had any problems with it since. I really appreciate Dr. Holtz as well, and would highly recommend this practice to anyone for their pets!

I can honestly say that I am one of the biggest dog lover's the world has ever known. I have O.D.D. (Obsessive Dog Disorder). Dr Martin & his associates are the kindest, most knowledgeable, and compassionate Veterinary staff' in the area!!! They are very knowledgeable about the most current advances in pet care health and are constantly striving to be even better!
I was told by a former Vet to take my dog home and just love him. I took him to Dr. Martin and he was able to help prolong his life with good quality for an additional 5 months.
They are not the cheapest place around but I learned that you get what you pay for. I want the BEST for my babies and THAT is Dr. Martin. Well worth every single penny.

I love taking my dog to the Animal Medical Center. I am originally from Chicago so I go home alot. When I drop Ty off there and know that I will have no problems. They are so wonderful with him that if they don't have an opening I won't go anywhere else. When I drop Ty off they are all so happy to see him.. they all come out and say hi, and when he leaves they are all upset to see him go. I would definitely recommend Animal Medical Center.

I've been taking my pup here since he was little. (About 3 1/2 years now) and we just recently got a kitten that has been going here as well. We started off with Dr.hanhart who was amazing and when our pup needed knee surgery we started dealing with Dr.martin. shortly after, Dr.hanhart left the practice and we've been with Dr.martin since. He's done surgery on both of our fur babies now. He's very informative and calm with all my questions and concerns. The staff is amazing as well. They know just how to handle my pup and his hyper personality. I believe you get what you pay for and my animals will never go anywhere else. Because I've developed such a strong love and trust for this place. Highly recommend them!

Hands down the BEST Vet's office around! There is no replacing Dr. Martin! I met him about 12 years ago when my dog was misdiagnosed by another Vet in Springboro and almost had me put my sweet girl to sleep...THANKFULLY I got over 11 more years with her after that! Dr. Martin and his staff are all so very compassionate! I love all of them. They all have shown my pups a tremendous amount of love every time they were in there. Whether it be for an annual checkup, or unfortunately for chemo treatments! But up until the very last day, my girls loved going in and visiting and getting spoiled with lots of "cookies" and kisses! Now my new princess, well....she tries to hide under the table until Dr. Martin busts out the "cookies"...she is part pig!!! LOVE MY AMC people!!! Blessed to have met them all!!! Might I mention, Dr. Martin and his staff also go out of their way on follow ups...which is def a different experience from other vets!!

I brought a cat in with a long-standing issue, but was made to wait for nearly 20 minutes without any follow-up. I went to the receptionist desk for a few minutes but they were focused on other clients, so I left the premises a bit irritated. Fast forward to a month and a half later, I inadvertently called them up for the same issue, but was told by the receptionist, "you might want to find another vet.", and hung up on me while I was explaining. I've never had such a rude interaction in any venue. I do not recommend whatsoever.

Yesterday, my son had to say goodbye to his beloved English Bull Dog Bogart. Dr Hanhart was so caring and compassionate with the procedure, he made it easier for us. "Bogie" was one of those special pets who stayed by my son during very difficult years.Two years ago, Dr Hanhart and Dr. Martin also diagnosed and helped save my Scottish Terrier with a serious liver condition-she is still with us. We will always be grateful and highly recommend this center for "state of the art" quality care, honesty, and compassion.

Highly recommend! Dr. Martin and all of his staff are wonderful! They took very good care of our boxer Howie for a long time over several medical issues he had. Unfortunately, we had to put our fur baby (10 yrs +) to rest last week. Dr. Martin and his staff took very good care of him, it helped to have such a caring staff as he passed on.

I have a bichon frise and five cats. I take all my pets to the Animal Medical Center in Springboro because their staff is kind professional and very knowledgeable in their care. I switched from another provider because I was so impressed with Dr. Martin. He's very learned about dogs and cats, and is a wonderful surgeon. My dog had ACL surgery on both legs about seven or eight years ago and has never had any problems with it since. I really appreciate Dr. Holtz as well, and would highly recommend this practice to anyone for their pets!

I can honestly say that I am one of the biggest dog lover's the world has ever known. I have O.D.D. (Obsessive Dog Disorder). Dr Martin & his associates are the kindest, most knowledgeable, and compassionate Veterinary staff' in the area!!! They are very knowledgeable about the most current advances in pet care health and are constantly striving to be even better!
I was told by a former Vet to take my dog home and just love him. I took him to Dr. Martin and he was able to help prolong his life with good quality for an additional 5 months.
They are not the cheapest place around but I learned that you get what you pay for. I want the BEST for my babies and THAT is Dr. Martin. Well worth every single penny.

Very clean. Nice staff. Reasonable prices for both services and supplies. A little tricky to get in/out of the drive due to traffic, but fine if you exit to the service road behind.

I love taking my dog to the Animal Medical Center. I am originally from Chicago so I go home alot. When I drop Ty off there and know that I will have no problems. They are so wonderful with him that if they don't have an opening I won't go anywhere else. When I drop Ty off they are all so happy to see him.. they all come out and say hi, and when he leaves they are all upset to see him go. I would definitely recommend Animal Medical Center.
