I brought in my husky Juno to get a second opinion on lameness in his back leg. I was extremely pleased with the thorough exam that was done and the knowledgeable explanation that was provided. When Juno had to be sedated for X-rays, they treated him like a king, taking really good care of him from start to finish, while keeping me updated along the way. Had to have my best friend put to sleep. They had to remove her from the room to put in an IV. I could hear her cry. When they returned her she was upset. I should have been able to hold her the whole time. I have taken her here her whole life, 14 years, and you would think they would have sent a sympathy card. It's all about the money I guess . The wait time is always lone. It is expensive and they guilt you into spending more then nessescary. I am not sure I will bring my next dog to this practice. Read Less

Always wonderful. They have been taking care of my 13 year old dog since she was a puppy, and we have always had great care. We have taken our dog and cat there for the past few years for routine checkups. Overall, the staff is friendly and we have had no problems with care. However, we are going to find a new vet because we nearly always have to wait 30-60 min past our scheduled appointment time to be seen. We have never been seen within 15 min of our scheduled appointment. The wait can be stressful because my dog is very friendly (and big) and gets super hyped up in the waiting room from being around the other animals. Read Less

My animals have been patients there for years. The techs and doctors at Stow Kent Animal Hospital have always been so sweet to us. The doctors are very knowledgeable and are very thorough with testing and treating my pets when they are sick. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend my vets to my friends. Thank you for the quality care you've given all of my dogs. You took exceptional care of my old girl recently during her dental. Her abscessed tooth certainly wasn't feeling the best when she got in there, but within of few days of her cleaning and teeth removal she was back to her sassy self. Thanks for all you do! My old dog had to have 14 teeth removed. I was able to make the appointment quickly, the price for the dental and removal was in a reasonable range and I was contacted a few times during the day to give me updates on how she was doing. We also did the geriatric bloodwork which is also VERY reasonably priced and was given a call to discuss any out of range results. The office can be a little hectic at times (shows you how popular they are as a clinic), but they've gladly allowed people to wait in the car and notify when it's their turn. WARNING!! There are many Vet's available at this facility. If you care about your pet, make sure to avoid Dr. Suzanne Paroff. My precious dog had a swollen paw and X-Rays were needed. I was told to drop him off early in case sedation was needed. My rescue dog has extreme kennel anxiety, he's been to this clinic on four separate occasions to discuss this very issue, unfortunately, Dr. Suzanne Paroff must not have read his chart. No one from the office ever phoned me with an update, so by noon I had to call, I was worried about my buddy and wanted to know the reason they were keeping him going on five hours. Apparently, my dog had not needed sedation, and was placed in a kennel for over four hours to wait for the X-Rays to be read. Why didn't Dr. Suzanne Paroff read the chart? When I finally got to see my dog, his upper canine tooth was broken half off and still bleeding. Dr. Suzanne Paroff was so casual about the situation, she didn't even mention this tooth, just talked about how unfortunate it was the X-Rays had yet to be read and that I would need to return. I had to go out in the hall to bring Dr. Suzanne Paroff back into the treatment room to discuss my dogs bleeding tooth. Dr. Suzanne Paroff actually told me not to worry, the situation would resolve itself in a few days and sent me home with some pain meds. Before I left the parking lot, I spoke to another Veterinary office, I learned that my poor dog's tooth had broken past the pulp. Dr. Suzanne Paroff sent my dog home with an exposed nerve, (a situation that makes humans cry it is so excruciatingly painful) and absolutely never heals on it's own. In fact, if left untreated the complications can be severe. How can someone, Dr. Suzanne Paroff, that works with animals be so cold and unconcerned for an animal's welfare, after her decisions created a situation in which a simple swollen paw had turned into an upper canine tooth extraction? We have a 15 month old a Goldendoodle, Maggie. When she was 8 months old she ate a sock and it was stuck. They were able to take an X-ray and do surgery at 10 pm to save our dog. I felt the staff was caring and listened to concerns. Recently Maggie started throwing up blood. I was able to call and get her in within a couple hours. We saw Dr. Blankenship and he was very good with Maggie. He did a full exam and because she didn't show any signs of having an obstruction and her vomiting had stopped to just watch her carefully and if she starts to show signs again to bring her back. He chose not to do an X-ray because he felt it wasn't necessary at that time. He didn't want to have the X-ray done knowing the cost and her exam was good. I appreciated that because X-rays are expensive but of course if it was deemed necessary we would have done it without questions. Dr Blankenship also gave me some new heart worm and flea/tick medicine to use. I would absolutely go back to their office. One last thing, I have been in vet offices and the smell really takes me back. Stow Kent Animal Hospital did not have a smell at all. The office is very clean and well taken care of.Read Less

I started taking my Siamese to Stow Kent this year after having some not-so-great experiences elsewhere. My cat had to have a dental cleaning and tooth removal, a wellness, and then a check-up for a lump, and each time, I was able to get an appointment quickly and was treated with respect, understanding, and empathy each time. I am so grateful for the staff here, especially Dr. Paroff. The folks who handle the phones and billing are always willing to check up on your pet for you if they are having a procedure, answer questions, and book appointments easily, and even the people who I've met in the waiting area have been kind and friendly, which definitely eases my nerves. The people here understand how much you love your pets and treat pets (and pet parents) with care. I hope to continue to take my pets to see Dr. Paroff here for a very long time.Read Less

Stow Kent is amazing. Although they have plenty of patients to keep the office full majority of the time, they still take special care in each and every one of my pets. They have seen my pets for normal visits and even saved my dogs lives a time or two. They are kind and willing to work with ANYONE for payments. They have done surgery on two of my dogs, and they tried desperately to help me save my cats life when he fell ill. I appreciate a vet that sincerely cares about your pets health before the money. WOW! My experience with Stow Kent used to be amazing because of Dr. Jaime Marietti. She was the BEST vet any pet and pet owner could ever asked for. She had to leave due to some medical issues and honestly€I have had the absolute worst experiences. Poor customer service and lack of caring when there was an emergency! I will never take my pets back to them. I understand they are a hospital and appointments get booked, but they failed to meet my needs when I pet guinea pig desperately needed medical attention. Unfortunately, he has now passed. I'm so looking forward to a change in vets and I am beyond excited for the amazing customer service I have already received with the Veterinary Center Of Hudson for my other pets. Stow-Kent, I was a loyal customer to you for many years and I always recommended by family/friends to you. I drive 50 minutes to this vet. I absolutely love it! I always feel they actually care for my dogs as much as I do, they don't try to push unnecessary meds or tests, they are a lot easier on the budget than a couple others I've tried. I recently had a tumor removed from my dog and was a wreck about it but they were all very nice, helpful, and made it a lot better for me. My only concern is I usually have to wait a long time over my appointment time because they are so busy. Read Less

I recently moved to the area and picked this vet because I saw all of the outstanding reviews. The veterinarians are very caring people and this is a great place to go to if you need simple treatments (neutering) and vaccines (you have to pay the $50 office fee for a $25 rabies vaccine though). Unfortunately they have a poor business model that seems to value the quantity of their clients versus the quality of their service. We frequently had to wait 15-20 minutes past our appointment time to be seen. Their office is always full (5-10 patients at minimum) and they only have 3 exam rooms. I wouldn't hear from the vet until 10 pm at times or my phone calls were never returned. I had an ill cat that the solution was to do expensive tests, give an antacid, and prescription food to (which never worked for 4 months). I understand diagnosis can be hard but if we had one vet that fully listen to us we wouldn't have had to put my cat through 4 months of worthless medicine and vet visits. I ended up taking my cat elsewhere for end of life care. I didn't want to wait for 30 minutes past my appointment time in a loud, over crowded room when I had to say goodbye to my cat. My poor 4 month old puppy was at the hospital for 9 hours today with rectal prolapse. I spent a lot of time there. The office was VERY busy and hectic. Regardless, my Kenna received A+ care and the staff was beyond wonderful. We hadn't really chosen a vet for her yet. This trip absolutely sealed the deal. We won't be taking our girl ANYWHERE else. I have had almost all of my Pets here. I have 3 dogs and 3 cats. I have never had a bad experience with them. They have always been very kind and compassionate. When need be they have fit me right in. Our dog Rusty has a lot of personality for being such a small dog, and they were so understanding and tried so hard to accommodate him. When my cats test came back wierd they stayed right on top of it to make sure she would be okay. And the vet kept in constant contact with me. I would recommend this vet to anyone!! They are the only vets around that I know take payments. They work hard so your pet can get the treatment they need and try to assist you with payment arrangements. I don't know anyone else that does that. Normally they want all the money up front! I trust this place with our most precious 4 legged family members. They are great!Read Less
