Dr. Pifer is wonderful!! He never pushes you to have anything done or suggest extra add ons that arent necessary...He presents the facts to you about what could be wrong, what tests need to be done, etc. And then he leaves it up to you what YOU want to do. We moved out of the area for a while and went to several other vets that were so pushy with their "care" and I always left feeling pressured and with a huge bill. I've never felt this way with Dr. Pifer or his staff! He's also a super nice guy, answers all your questions and has been a vet for the Iditarod Dog Sled race in Alaska for several years, which I think is so cool! Now that were back in toledo, my pets will never go to a different vet again! Read Less

Dr. Pfeifer is outstanding so is most of his staff. There are a few really rude gals employed there. Very unorganized.

I first starting going to Dr. Drake when my puppy became sick out of the blue. Dr. Drake had no idea what was wrong with her so he began experimenting with different medications. He ended up giving her a medication that HAD BEEN TAKEN OFF THE MARKET because it caused some dogs to become anemic. Well guess what my dog became anemic and died. After the fact I found out that my dog most likely just had pancreatitis, which is not life threatening. After that my fiance's mom took her dog there when he got sick (only because her vet had just passed away). She took in her dog there and Dr. Drake was very rude to her and put the dog on an IV, then what do you know the dog died. Not saying that the second dog was neccessarily his fault but he did not comfort my future mom in law nor did he attempt to save the dog. VERY DISSAPOINTED! Read Less

My family has taken our 3 dogs here for over 10 years. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Last year, our dog ate a squirrel and needed emergency surgery. After the surgery they allowed us to visit him as often and as long as we wanted. Despite having an IV and a catheter, you could tell they made every effort to make him comfortable for the 2 days he stayed after words. They made sure he was clean, had toys, and plenty of attention. They explained his after care to us very thoroughly and gave us a special number to call if we had any questions. Having moved around a bit in recent years, I've never found a vet that I've been more comfortable with. They're the best! Read Less
