Dr. Overmyer is a very caring vet. When I had a very sick cat, and years later, a very sick dog, he came to my home to "put them to sleep" so I wouldn't have to put them through the trauma of taking them to the vet. Our dog was stung by a bee and our vet sent us to Dr. Overmeyer because he was out of the office and not close by. Our vet called to let them know we were coming and what was going on. When we arrived the dog was incoherent, her lips were gray and we had to carry her inside, not an easy task when she weighed 60lbs. They put us in the room and left us there for more than 30 minutes before the Dr. bothered to come in. She was in anaphylactic shock. Luckily she didn't die before he came in the room. He knew we were on the way with a true emergency and he couldn't have cared less. I would never go here again and would not recommend them at all. Dr. Overmeyer and his staff were excellent. I brought my cat in because he was not eating. Every test was explained in simple terms and they were very caring. I have had a horrendous experience today. I have two kittens that I adopted from the humane society after fostering them from birth. The kittens had a well check with Dr. Overmeyer soon after the adoption. I brought up that their sister had passed away from a heart murmur. Dr. Overmeyer told me that neither kitten had a heart murmur. Much to my chagrin, at their pre-surgery visit for being declawed today, Dr. Overmeyer informed (very casually) that the kittens may experience heart failure because of their pronounced heart murmurs. Prior to this visit, I had called to ask for the prices and procedures for declawing. On the phone, I was told TWICE that the price for both cats was less than half the price they told me it would be today. I also was not told that there was a 84.00 fee today to weigh the cats and have face-to-face contact with Dr. Overmeyer for MAYBE two minutes. I was not informed of this fee in the slightest and to make the experience even more cringe worthy: they were planning to charge me a higher price because my kittens weighed 0.2lbs over their price cut off. I tried to civilly talk to Overmeyer and his staff to resolve this issue. Unfortunately, I was respectful and was not shown that same respect. We have been customers of Dr. Overmeyer for 10+ years. I would strongly recommend finding a different vet unless you are made of money and do not mind having your beloved animals treated as a dollar sign. Read Less

I have had other Veterinarians in the past and Overmeyer Veterinary Center is by far the best! My dogs love the friendly staff and Dr. Overmeyer.
