Boarding hours coincide with our office hours.
Daycare hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am to 6:00 pm

POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.
We had an appointment on Friday. I was called less than half and hour before the appointment, the doctor was sick and they needed to cancel.
I understand that can happen.
I was offered another appointment later in the day, I explained that it was difficult to make that time and I could be late. The appointment was then booked for 1:40 PM.
I arrived 10 minutes late. I stood at the counter for another 5 minutes because on of the desk workers was having a personal conversation with someone.
When I was finally checked in I was told that I was too late and needed to reschedule. Normally, going there I sit in the lobby for 10 minutes after checking in and then we sit in an exam room for another 10 minutes waiting for the doctor.
I received multiple excuses. They moved on to the next patient. There was only one doctor there (I saw one leave while I was at the desk). Suddenly, the only doctor there was now in an emergency surgery.
I replied to the emergency surgery excuse. Asking even if we were on time then we wouldn't have been seen, why didn't anyone call me? I was told we would have been seen. That tells me there was no emergency. Plus upon leaving another pet family was arriving for their checkup. I pretty sure they were seen.
I told the desk manager that if we were not seen I would be looking for another vet. She didn't care. This is no way to treat a patient who has been a patient for over 5 years. I pass 4 vets on my way to Sylvania VET, because I thought they gave the best care.
They may have good care; but THEY DON'T CARE ABOUT YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
I found out when leaving that they didn't even have the decency to schedule us with our regular doctor originally!
I have already made arrangements with another facility and requested a records transfer.
Find a different Vet for your pet.

Amazing people. I utilize their daycare 1-2 times per week just to get my pup some playtime with other dogs. The girls that work there are so nice to my pup. Although I wish they had a webcam. Other daycares offer this and I think would be a nice amenity to have.

We have two Boxer's that are like our children. We have had to take our older one in several times and Sylvania Vet has been AMAZING to her. She has had surgery twice and we could not be more pleased with the care and concern they provided. They are not only compassionate to animals but to their owners. I won't take my animals anywhere else.

I adopted a cat from them a while back. I was going to a different vet but I decided to keep the new cat going to Sylvania Vet because they knew her extensive background. I didn't keep her going there long. Every time we went just for something simple it was at least a 90 minute to 2 hour wait. They put you in a room, leave you for 30 minutes, tech comes in to talk to you, leaves you for 30 more minutes, doc comes in & talks then says she's going to get you some meds...then you wait another 30 minutes. Then you get to go to check out & you get an attitude. I have never saw more rude people than the ones that work at the desk. They all have an attitude.
They also nickel and dime you for EVERY little thing. I had a different cat hospitalized there over the weekend. They charge for things every day that are not changed daily, like the IV set. The IV pump is also another charge...I paid enough for pump rental that I probably own the dang thing. That should be included in the "hospitalization" fee. It was close to $1000 for 2 days of care. RIP OFF!!!

Expensive, rude, med pushers, and so much turnover. We never see the same employees in there, including the vets. Come to think about it, have we ever been seen by a true veterinarian there? The last visit, we took our dog in for an issue with his paw and they examined and prescribed antacids for his stomach, which we didn't even use. Turns out his paw condition is because they refused to trim a nail in past visits and now it is cracked, something they will refuse to take responsibility for. They push very expensive allergy medications for anything abnormal with skin. It's always a mystery how much the visit will cost and we always leave with a bill > $100 for even the simplest checkups and followup visit aren't charged as such. I would give this place 0 stars but I can't, and they give out free cookies and drinks (for human consumption) so that's worthy of 1 star. Stay far away from this money machine, after all they have an expensive building to pay for...

I have been going to this vet for almost 9 years and I love Dr Bob. He is familiar with my fur babies and they know him. I also love Nancy Smith in the Grooming department. There are several employes that do go above and beyond. I do know that yesterday I went for a checkup for my fur babies & seen a staff member on the floor cuddling up to a dog comforting the poor baby. It's things like this that assures me I take my fur babies to the right place.

We have only been there for boarding, but our 100 lb GSD loves it. The staff is knowledgeable and always friendly, even when our dog is a little crazy. He's hard to handle, yet everyone there is great with him. Definitely the best place in Toledo to board your pet!

We have received superb surgical care when necessary from the vets at Sylvania Vet and will continue to bring our pets here. Be prepared to pay high fees, however, and routine care can be obtained at lower cost elsewhere in the Toledo area, sometimes for one third of Sylvania Vet's charges.

Sylvania Vet is the only place I trust to take my pets. We found them many many years ago when we found a dog tied up outside in an emergency situation. We transitioned our animals there and have been very happy since then. They work hard to take the best course of action to help your pets. Thanks for taking such good care of us!!

They even have 24 hour emergency (for their clients only). When a sick animal has to stay the night, there is actually staff there overnight with them, which is rare in veterinary medicine. They have daycare, grooming, and just about anything else your pet needs. Their end of life care is top notch as well. They helped us greatly with the passing of our beloved dog. Even though the after hours is only emergency, they allowed me to stop in to pick up my Daisy and bring her back home.

Thank you to the staff who was able to see my very sick cat so quickly on a Saturday, and then provided attentive care to her until Monday evening. The doctor and techs were very thorough in keeping me up to date as well, and were sensitive to other issues. We will definitely be making this our regular office.

Had to take one of my Springers in on a Sunday. Glad we're a patient of record so we didn't go thru the financial burden of " emergency services" for our beloved family member. They took excellent care of her. I remembered the commercial I heard on the radio and thought to myself "I hope someone really listens to their caring message". If you have a pet, this is the place to go. Prices are good too. I used the clinics before and they just don't cut it.

For Dr. Karissa: Just last week, on Dec 10th, my husband and I had to make the difficult and unexpected decision to say goodbye to our beloved lab, Jack. I was inconsolable, lying on the floor sobbing next to my sweet, sick boy. Dr. Karissa's honest and gentle advice spoke volumes to me, and I have repeated these words in my head over and over each time my grief overwhelms me: "It is a privilege for us to be able to choose to end their pain." I am lost without my Jack. I know that time will ease my sadness, but until that happens, Dr. Karissa's words remind me that our love for Jack is greater than our selfish desire to hold on to him. Thank you, Dr. Bob and your staff, for taking care of Jack over the years. And a special thank you to Dr. Karissa for your compassion and caring when we had to let him go.

We had an appointment on Friday. I was called less than half and hour before the appointment, the doctor was sick and they needed to cancel.
I understand that can happen.

She has had surgery twice and we could not be more pleased with the care and concern they provided. They are not only compassionate to animals but to their owners. I didn't keep her going there long. Every time we went just for something simple it was at least a 90 minute to 2 hour wait. We have only been there for boarding, but our 100 lb GSD loves it. The staff is knowledgeable and always friendly, even when our dog is a little crazy. He's hard to handle, yet everyone there is great with him. Definitely the best place in Toledo to board your pet!
