My cat needed dental. I've had cats for 30yrs so I know that dental work can be pricey. I called here asking for pricing. They refused to even given me a ballpark over the phone, said the doctor needed to see the cat. I was hesitant but then they said the office visit was only $10.50. so I gave it a shot. And I guess that is the bright side, that I only wasted $10.50.
The vet barely looked at my cat before giving me pricing. And none of the pricing was exact. Everything was well if we have to take out a big tooth that's extra. And if the tooth doesn't come out well, that's extra. All things they could have told me over the phone. There was no estimate for me. Just a handwritten scribble of what things may cost and I didn't even get to take that home. He was very defensive when I asked about the prices. I was turned off at the cost, but a good vet should have been able to explain the rates without being so defensive. I felt like I couldn't ask him anything further. I had come for a second opinion, and really hoping to find a cheaper price. If I can't ask about pricing, why waste my time? I told them that was what I wanted over the phone.

I like the location and I think the staff are really nice, overall. The doctor comes off as very quick in saying what needs done and I felt, impatient with questions (I had an experience similar to another reviewer on here) but I tell myself it might be the best attitude because clientele in this part of town (not exactly a posh neighborhood and that is okay, it's my neighborhood) might need that assertive tone when needing to be convinced to spend limited income to do the right thing for their pet or the pet will suffer in the long run.

i went to the bancroft animal clinic just the other day for the first time. i was in the proccess of shopping for a new vet since i moved to the area, and i was exteremely disappointed in how i was treated by the vet, Dr. Knepper. When i entered the office i expected a professional conversation between a vet and pet owner, but instead he threw at me a ton of shots and treatments that i needed to get in a way that made me feel that he was threatening that if i don't heed his warning, my dog or me was going to die soon. i know that sounds extreme but instead of explaining to me the yearly or every six months shots that he was recommending he just threatened my or my dogs demise. when i asked questions, he really wasn't worried about answering them, he even told me let me finish with his speel, which was about how cheap his office is and the his new office in perrysburg. i was very dissappointed with this is new vet offices, to best describe the vet i would say that he has a god like syndrom and thinks he walks on water because he has three vet clinics and works 14 hours a day (all of which he told me in his speel). i really don't recommend this vet and don't plan to go back. it was a very bad experience in pet health care.
