My shih tzu showed signs of a leg injury which i informed the vet .I was told probably her back. When she didnt show progress i took her back diffrent vet said she need emergency pyometra surgery after she healed from that expensive most likley not necessary surgery she still was favoring her right leg took her back to the office said her back still well 4+months later she is with a diffrent veterinarian hospital awaiting femoral head and neck surgery causing her pain and weakness in her RIGHT LEG THE ORIGINAL THING I TOOK HER IN FOR . We switched to Shoreland when our Pug was diagnosed with cancer in his left front elbow. Our previous vote who the dog hated wanting to just cut his leg off. When we went to Shoreland, Dr. Brown took one look at Louie and smiled. We don't need to take his leg off, we can fix this. About 2 months later Louie was back to normal. He's had set backs twice and each time Dr. Brown has come through and fixed it without Louie losing his leg. The staff are great as well and Louie loves all of them. Read Less

I've never been to a place that the people stay the same. I feel very happy bringing my cats here. They truly love them. They remember them. It's extremely nice and the prices are fair. I'll never take my kitties anywhere else. Dr. Sara is my favorite. She's always reading journals and is up on the latest medical veterinary practices. She is simply an asset. Absolutely love the staff at shoreland! My very first experience with them was through Facebook when someone brought in my current rescue Walter who at the time was very sick with a upper respiratory infection a severe eye problem which needed a intensive surgery I came to visit him and feel in love! They helped him recover and kept me up to date with his care and when the time came for adoption they called me right away! Absolutely amazing office! We moved to point place a few years back but continued to make the drive to our orignial vet until a couple weeks ago when our cat got very sick. We decided to get him in with a closer vet to avoid additional stress on him. Dr. Karkheck was very pleasant to work with and was open, honest and straight forward. The staff is very nice and were always willing to work us in when we needed them. After a few visits and our cats condition continuing to deteriorate we came to the decision to put him down. I was a wreck however I felt like I was in good hands. They were kind, caring, explained everything throughly and made sure I understood. Dr. Karkheck assured me that I was making the right decision and I can't tell you how much it ment to me. After saying my goodbye and returning home, to my dismay, my dog came in from outside with a bloody eye. I was immediately put back into a frantic state as I knew my original vet was closed for the day. In a panic not knowing what else to do I called back to shoreland animal hospital and even though they were extremely busy, had never seen my dog, and were 15 minutes from closing, they told me to come back right away. Thankfully it was only a cut on her eyelid and was an easy fix. I can't say enough amazing things about this office. They were really there for me over the last couple weeks and I plan to switch all of my pets over to them in the coming months.Read Less

We had our year old pit/boxer Izzy spayed there yesterday and while we already knew this vet was a good one because they care for our Jack Russell we were very pleased with the care Izzy got. The staff treated Izzy as they would their own dogs and were so loving towards her. They went through all the post surgical instructions with us and answered any questions we had. They also called this morning to see how she was doing. We live about 20 minutes away from this vet but wouldn't even think of changing. These folks are nothing short of amazing. Everyone here is a true professional. We've never felt "rushed through" here - everyone takes all the time we feel we need to have our questions thoroughly answered - including the vets. Special thanks to Dr. Brown and his assistant Theresa who very recently performed successful surgery on our 10 year old Pom who has a host of health issues but is on his way to recovery. Dr. Brown and Theresa are very obviously at the top of their fields. But, as mentioned earlier, EVERYONE at Shoreland is a caring pro. I would NOT trust my fur babies with any other hospital! We have 3 geriatric cats and a geriatric dog. One cat has kidney failure and another has asthma. The folks at Shoreland are so kind and gentle with our babies. Arlington, Alex, Andy and Amy are in the best of hands and get the best of care at Shoreland. I took my dog in for his annual check up & had not been informed that the regular vets were not in. I had to see a relief vet. I have been taking my dog there since he was 9wks. old. With the prices they charge I feel I should have had a choice to re-schedule & see the regular vet who knows my dog.
