I cannot say enough good things about Dr. A and his techs. He immediately targeted a problem that was overlooked by another vet, has continued exceptional care, and is more than acommodating each time we come in. Even when I go in to pick up medication, he stops for a moment to check on each of my dogs, remembering them in detail. Each assistant is so kind and gentle, answers my questions, and you can tell they care for the animals in their office. His prices are the best I’ve experienced in Toledo. I used to go to a vet on Airport Highway and every time I went I felt so uncomfortable, so my fiance and I saw reviews for Westside Vet Hosp. There's nothing but raving reviews so we decided to switch all our animals. Dr. Albalakousy is AMAZING! We are 100% glad we switched and understand why there is no negative feedback! One of our kitties has a bad liver problem so we've been to Dr. A 3 times this year already. She's had to stay a week and then 2 check ups so far after. Chancy has been on 3 different meds daily, she needs to be force feed through a syringe multiple times a day, and now we have to give her an IV every other day. He made sure we knew what we were doing, that we were comfortable with what we had to do, and that we had everything we needed and then some. He takes great care of our animals and we feel like he REALLY cares. That's super important to us. And on top of that, he doesn't outrageously charge you! ❤️❤️ Read Less

Dr. Abdel has been our veterinarian for a few years now and the only regret I have is that we didn't find him sooner. He is very knowledgeable and extremely compassionate. I was also happy to find out that he is a vegetarian. I highly highly recommend Westside Veterinary Hospital!Our companion (Bridget) was born with hip and allergy problems. She also had frequent urinary tract infections that required constant veterinary care. Bridget was always a bit scared of the doctor's office but for an unknown reason, she was not hesitant about going to see Dr. Abdel. I think it was because he is so friendly and calm that she could sense that when she walked into the office. After 15 years her condition deteriorated to the point that she could not walk anymore and a tumor was growing and she would vomit after she ate. Putting her to sleep was the hardest thing we had to do and we wanted to make sure our baby girl didn't feel any pain. Dr. Abdel understood this and gave us tranquilizer to take home for when we wanted to bring her in to be put to sleep. When the time came we took her to the park and let her be happy then gave her the tranquilizer and drove to the veterinary hospital. Dr. Abdel and his staff were extremely empathetic and caring. Bridget was sleeping from the tranquilizers and he explained the process and let us have as much time with her as we wanted. When it was time she didn't move or anything she was out and just passed away peacefully. Dr. Abdel and the staff gave us tissues and expressed their condolences and asked if we were okay and if we needed anything. We had the most difficult experience of having our dog put to sleep this past weekend. The staff at Westside made everything as comfortable as it could be and explained the process. Dr. A is by far the nicest, most caring vet I have ever met. He is incredibly thorough and detailed and spends quality time getting to know his patients. i cannot say enough about our first of many visits to Westside Vet. First of all, the techs and receptionists are very kind and friendly! We brought our puppy in for her shots and during that time the receptionist entertained my 4 year old son with fun coloring pages. Dr, Albalakousy is SO thorough, explaining everything so well and even did a full exam of our puppy, while describing everything he was looking at and why he was doing so. He described breed specific characteristics and health concerns as well as training tips! After our pup got her shots he told us things to expect and look out for. She ended up having an anaphylactic reaction (which we could recognize thanks to his thorough education) when we got home so i had to rush her back. Doc recommended that she stay for observation and treatment. He only charged us for the puppy shots-complimentary exam! AND he didnt charge for her over night stay and treatment! Read Less
