We have been seeing Dr. Johnston for at least 10 years. He has always made it seem like our pets (and us) were one of the family. He and the rest of the office staff and vet techs always made you feel like you were the most important people at the moment and always were willing to talk over any questions that you may have. When the time came for our final goodbyes with our dog, they were very understanding and compassionate and you could tell they actually cared that you would be leaving with just a leash and collar that day. When it comes time for us to get another pet, rest assured, they will be seeing Dr. Johnston.

Took our dog in for a simple heart worm test to get him on Heart Guard. They charged me $99.55 for the test+exam; but then wouldn't write me a prescription for the Heart Guard unless I paid another "Prescription Fee" that they failed to mention before taking my money for the exam!
These people only care about taking your money. The health of your pet means nothing to them.

Look, when it comes to vets in the Troy area, Dr. Johnston is the man. He's one of those rare diagnosticians. When we brought in our tripod dog, after having a rough experience at another local vet, Dr. J was on the floor, watching pups walk and really considering his situation. I just had this feeling that someone was in control and was partnering with me to bring my pup the best care. The staff is also very efficient, and the wait area is newly updated. I just wish we would have gone to Miami Acres sooner, I could have saved $1000 that I didn't need to spend!

I'll never go back due to a follow up exam that wasn't needed and was charged $27 for. I thought I wouldn't be charged but sure enough I was. I was just asked ...

I'll never go back due to a follow up exam that wasn't needed and was charged $27 for. I thought I wouldn't be charged but sure enough I was. I was just asked if my cat's ears still had mites and I said yes and the doctor didn't look at the cat's ears and told me give the med's more time.

Doctor was awesome, took special care with our puppy and was very nice to us as well. Very caring! Highly recommend!

We have been seeing Dr. Johnston for at least 10 years. He has always made it seem like our pets (and us) were one of the family. He and the rest of the office staff and vet techs always made you feel like you were the most important people at the moment and always were willing to talk over any questions that you may have. When the time came for our final goodbyes with our dog, they were very understanding and compassionate and you could tell they actually cared that you would be leaving with just a leash and collar that day.
