Since 1976, Troy Animal Hospital and Bird Clinic has been dedicated to providing the best comprehensive care possible for the pets of the Miami Valley and surrounding communities. I took my dog Riley to Troy Animal Hospital for many years and I can tell you that they can handle any problems with great skill and kindness. Riley loved to go hear and would talk nonstop the entire ride each time. We have many competent local vets but chose to drive 30 miles to Troy for that special something you can't find elsewhere. From Dr. Davis and his endless knowledge to Dr. Petersen and her love of each and every patient, the staff are wonderful and I cannot thank them enough for seeing Riley through every one of life's problems.

The staff at TAHBC is amazing. Dr. Holman and Dr. Mathews see both of our dogs, Enzo and Margo, and are amazing with them! They take the time to listen to our concerns, and answer any questions we may have. They explain every test, or procedure that they feel is necessary, and make sure we understand why they’re recommending it be done. They’re both excellent veterinarians and we can’t say enough positive things about them.
We have also used them for boarding and always love how well the dogs are taken care of by the ladies who handle those tasks. They even put up with our phone calls to check on the dogs ;o) the front office staff is always friendly, and personable. We can’t say enough great things about the clinic overall!

Dr. Davis is one of the most knowledgeable, experienced veterinarians in the country. I drove 2 hours, each way, to take my puppy to him. He diagnosed a condition in her that my usual veterinarian could not. He was able to get her in quickly for significant surgery, which went very well. Her stitches were meticulous & her recovery could not have been better. Dr. Davis & his staff are very friendly, accommodating & the clinic spotless.

Dr. Peterson and Dr.Hellman are excellent!! Dr. Peterson personally called me to explain our puppies test results and answered all of my questions. Dr. Hellman met us at the office midnight on Christmas Eve because our puppy had chewed out all of her stitches. She was great with our girl, knew exactly that to do, did it quickly, was thorough, kind, and understanding. The only negative I could say is we weren't given many instructions after our puppies spaying and weren't given the opportunity to ask many questions from the office staff.

We found out that our 13 year old golden had cancer about a month ago and unfortunately she had a very aggressive tumor that took a turn for the worst a few days ago. We had to call the emergency line on Thanksgiving and dr. Davis called me right back and helped me work through the situation and we had decided to take her first thing Friday morning. Sadly we knew what was coming and dr. Peterson and the rest of the staff was very patient and kind to let us say our goodbyes and let us take our time with her in the last moments before we had to let her go. This was one of the worst things I have ever gone through but the stuff helped us through it and even sent us some beautiful flowers that same day to give us their condolences. I've been coming to this vet for the last 7 years and I won't go anywhere else, so thank you for helping us through one of the worst days I've ever had and contuining to provide excellent service for my other animals!

This veterinary practice has at least one extremely reliable exotics vet on staff. When our rabbit stopped eating three weeks ago, they immediately made time for us to see her the following morning, and he was in and out of surgery by that same afternoon. They sent us home with pain medication, but he was eating on his own again later in the day, which must have meant that they did an amazing job! This practice has also seen our pigeon and leopard gecko with excellent results.

Have have taken my pets to Troy Animal Hospital for the past 14 years. All of my experiences have been great. Dr. Peterson talked to me at lenght when Misty past away, she is very knowledgeable, caring, and will take the time with the pet and not hurry through an examination . Dr. Davis always gives good examinations and is exceptional at patient teaching, I give much credit to Dr Helman for saving my 3 week old puppy's life with the treatment that was given and proper diagnosis. The staff is professional and very considerate, and genuinely concerned with the pets snd owners.

I took my dog to Dr. Davis, she was very very sick, had not been eating for 10 days, I took her to her regular vet but they were completely baffled and could not figure out what was wrong with her. Dr. Davis looked at the xrays I took to him and knew immediately what was wrong with her. She had an obstruction in her belly, he immediately started giving her treatment, kept her two days, and now she is back to her normal self. The staff was amazing, I thought I was going to lose her and Dr. Davis was not going to allow that to happen. He called me and Saturday and sunday several times to update me. That meant so much to me. Me dog is my child, I treat her like she was a human. He understood this and was so compassionate as the rest of his staff was. I HIGHLY recommend Troy Animal Hospital. Thank you Dr. Davis and staff for making my sassy well again.

Troy Animal Hospital was very easy to make and appointment and get our cat checked out all in the same day. Dr. Peterson was very knowledgeable about cats. Our cat got the shots and meds she needed all in the same visit. We got a written estimate before anything was given and we got to decide which meds we wanted. This was great so there was no surprises at the time for check out. The whole visit took less than an hour. I would recommend this clinic and will bring our other cat there when the time comes.

Troy Animal Hospital is by far one the best vets in the area for people who have pets such as rabbits, rats, other exotics. Vets for these types of pets are hard to find. We found them when doing online search for our sick bunny when our usual vet was not in the office and is part time, so we need find quick place get him in. The vets here are very professional and educated in all types of pets. They are very caring. I would recommend them to anyone with pets. We now made them are permanent vet for all of pets big and small.

I was visiting from out of town for a graduation and my dog came down with a case of diarrhea. At 8:30am Saturday I started calling vets, trying to see if anyone would take me sooner rather than late...
I was visiting from out of town for a graduation and my dog came down with a case of diarrhea. At 8:30am Saturday I started calling vets, trying to see if anyone would take me sooner rather than later - I was hoping to make it to at least part of the ceremonies. While Troy Animal Hospital didn't have any open appointments they told me they would work me in (unlike the other 2 vets I had called). I am very appreciative. I was able to get some antibiotics, get up to date on her heartworm test/medication, and still make it all the way down to Fairborn in time to see my friend's name called.

Troy Animal Hospital did surgery on my German Shepherd she had hip dysplasia on one side. A great place to take your dog. They did a fabulous job.

Cannot say enough nice things about this facility. The counter staff are friendly and competent. Drs. Davis, Peterson and Hellman are professional and compassionate. We would not go anywhere else!!

We have used Troy Animal Hospital for all of our pets since we moved to Troy in 2014. From new puppy & kitten well “baby” exams, surgeries, severe illness, annual shots, minor concerns, boarding, and even aiding our bulldog in crossing the rainbow bridge when it was time! They’re so compassionate and professional!! We highly recommend Troy Animal Hospital!

The staff at TAHBC is amazing. Dr. Holman and Dr. Mathews see both of our dogs, Enzo and Margo, and are amazing with them! They take the time to listen to our concerns, and answer any questions we may have. They explain every test, or procedure that they feel is necessary, and make sure we understand why they’re recommending it be done. They’re both excellent veterinarians and we can’t say enough positive things about them.
We have also used them for boarding and always love how well the dogs are taken care of by the ladies who handle those tasks. They even put up with our phone calls to check on the dogs ;o) the front office staff is always friendly, and personable. We can’t say enough great things about the clinic overall!

Dr. Davis is one of the most knowledgeable, experienced veterinarians in the country. I drove 2 hours, each way, to take my puppy to him. He diagnosed a condition in her that my usual veterinarian could not. He was able to get her in quickly for significant surgery, which went very well. Her stitches were meticulous & her recovery could not have been better. Dr. Davis & his staff are very friendly, accommodating & the clinic spotless.

We were first time clients on 12/30/16 when our Bluetick Coonhound, Tucker, suddenly started bleeding. Dr. Davis was so incredibly kind and gentle with us and Tucker. Although our outcome wasn't ideal and we lost our boy that night we cannot thank Dr. Davis and his staff enough. You can tell when doctors, technicians, and staff care; there was no question in my mind about the staff on this night. Thank you so much for taking care of us.

Dr. Peterson and Dr.Hellman are excellent!! Dr. Peterson personally called me to explain our puppies test results and answered all of my questions. Dr. Hellman met us at the office midnight on Christmas Eve because our puppy had chewed out all of her stitches. She was great with our girl, knew exactly that to do, did it quickly, was thorough, kind, and understanding. The only negative I could say is we weren't given many instructions after our puppies spaying and weren't given the opportunity to ask many questions from the office staff.

We found out that our 13 year old golden had cancer about a month ago and unfortunately she had a very aggressive tumor that took a turn for the worst a few days ago. We had to call the emergency line on Thanksgiving and dr. Davis called me right back and helped me work through the situation and we had decided to take her first thing Friday morning. Sadly we knew what was coming and dr. Peterson and the rest of the staff was very patient and kind to let us say our goodbyes and let us take our time with her in the last moments before we had to let her go. This was one of the worst things I have ever gone through but the stuff helped us through it and even sent us some beautiful flowers that same day to give us their condolences. I've been coming to this vet for the last 7 years and I won't go anywhere else, so thank you for helping us through one of the worst days I've ever had and contuining to provide excellent service for my other animals!

Our doodle Mattie got spayed this week, everyone was great! Love everyone that we have come in contact with at this office. She was supposed to stay overnight but she was getting stressed (she's a year old and never been away from us over night) so she came home same day. Sometimes you just need your own bed and your teddy bear! Thanks Dr. Davis and all the staff that took care of our Mattie!!!

This veterinary practice has at least one extremely reliable exotics vet on staff. When our rabbit stopped eating three weeks ago, they immediately made time for us to see her the following morning, and he was in and out of surgery by that same afternoon. They sent us home with pain medication, but he was eating on his own again later in the day, which must have meant that they did an amazing job! This practice has also seen our pigeon and leopard gecko with excellent results.

Took our dog in because he was getting sick. The vet told us she was too scared of pit bulls to do a full check of him, and then charged us $100.00 anyways for a shot she wasn't even sure he needed. After the fact she told us it was probably from his treats. These people just charge for anything they can.

Have have taken my pets to Troy Animal Hospital for the past 14 years. All of my experiences have been great. Dr. Peterson talked to me at lenght when Misty past away, she is very knowledgeable, caring, and will take the time with the pet and not hurry through an examination . Dr. Davis always gives good examinations and is exceptional at patient teaching, I give much credit to Dr Helman for saving my 3 week old puppy's life with the treatment that was given and proper diagnosis. The staff is professional and very considerate, and genuinely concerned with the pets snd owners.

I came from out of state to have my dogs OFA X-rays done by Dr. Davis and I was extremely happy. He and his staff were incredibly kind and you can tell they enjoy what they do. I loved how Dr. Davis involved me in the process and for that I am extremely appreciative. I can see why people come from all over the country. This won't be the last dog I bring to his practice.

I took my dog to Dr. Davis, she was very very sick, had not been eating for 10 days, I took her to her regular vet but they were completely baffled and could not figure out what was wrong with her. Dr. Davis looked at the xrays I took to him and knew immediately what was wrong with her. She had an obstruction in her belly, he immediately started giving her treatment, kept her two days, and now she is back to her normal self. The staff was amazing, I thought I was going to lose her and Dr. Davis was not going to allow that to happen. He called me and Saturday and sunday several times to update me. That meant so much to me. Me dog is my child, I treat her like she was a human. He understood this and was so compassionate as the rest of his staff was. I HIGHLY recommend Troy Animal Hospital. Thank you Dr. Davis and staff for making my sassy well again.

Troy Animal Hospital was very easy to make and appointment and get our cat checked out all in the same day. Dr. Peterson was very knowledgeable about cats. Our cat got the shots and meds she needed all in the same visit. We got a written estimate before anything was given and we got to decide which meds we wanted. This was great so there was no surprises at the time for check out. The whole visit took less than an hour. I would recommend this clinic and will bring our other cat there when the time comes.

Troy Animal Hospital is by far one the best vets in the area for people who have pets such as rabbits, rats, other exotics. Vets for these types of pets are hard to find. We found them when doing online search for our sick bunny when our usual vet was not in the office and is part time, so we need find quick place get him in. The vets here are very professional and educated in all types of pets. They are very caring. I would recommend them to anyone with pets. We now made them are permanent vet for all of pets big and small.

I was visiting from out of town for a graduation and my dog came down with a case of diarrhea. At 8:30am Saturday I started calling vets, trying to see if anyone would take me sooner rather than late...
I was visiting from out of town for a graduation and my dog came down with a case of diarrhea. At 8:30am Saturday I started calling vets, trying to see if anyone would take me sooner rather than later - I was hoping to make it to at least part of the ceremonies. While Troy Animal Hospital didn't have any open appointments they told me they would work me in (unlike the other 2 vets I had called). I am very appreciative. I was able to get some antibiotics, get up to date on her heartworm test/medication, and still make it all the way down to Fairborn in time to see my friend's name called.
