The Animal Clinic of Van Wert specializes in dentistry, surgery, radiology and overall wellness for small animals. We also offer boarding and grooming. Pets are seen by appointment only.

I just moved to Van Wert so I had to find a new vet for my dog Tucker who is a black lab. At the other vet I could never get him settled down in the office he was always all nervous.... But for some reason when we were in the exam room at this vet he just laid right down. They were so kind and gentle I love them and so does Tucker!

I am super happy that I took my puppy here. The staff was friendly and very helpful. My puppy had worms cause of the person I got him from. The vet was super kind on helping me understand the importance on a good diet for the pup and gave him dewormer. Also, not even a half a day went by you could see the big difference in him. Another thing, the prices are very reasonable and affordable. Highly recommend! 😄

I love this place and, surprisingly, my animals do as well! Dr. Wilkin and Dr. Emily are both great - through and at the same time sensitive to tight budgets and alternative medicine options. I've taken my dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and rabbits to them and they are excellent with all of them. My dog LOVES to go to the vet's office - and I don't know of much higher praise than that!

I lived in Ohio from 2005 to 2007 and I took my babies to Dr Wilken as their vet. Which I am so glad I did. One of my babies Marsha ended up getting an infection and it damage her kidneys. She ended up becoming in kidney failure and she had to start IV fluid treatment which she ended up staying on for the rest of her life. Dr Wilken and the staff took so good care of her and all my babies. If something was going on with Marsha all I had to do was to call and he would take care of her. In 2007 I moved back to SC which I hated to take Marsha away from Dr. Wilken, I even tried to get him to open a practice in SC :). From 2007 to 2014 I kept Dr Wilken informed with Marsha health. In April of this year I had to make a hard choice and let Marsha rest in peace. She was getting so sick and going down hill fast. The very first call I made was to Dr Wilken to tell him. He got on the phone pretty fast and his kind and sweet words meant alot to me. I always called Dr. Wilken Marsha guardian angel. I will never forget what he did for Marsha. He gave me almost nine more years with her.I miss Marsha everday. I just want to thank Dr Wilken for giving me more time with my baby Marsha. I will always be so grateful for that. You will always have a south carolina friend here !!!!

Just a wonderful clinic, well run, organized, great helpful staff, & wonderful doctor! Very caring and compassionate! They actually sent me a sympathy card for the loss of my dog when they hadn't even had the opportunity to look at her. She had passed the day of her appointment for her 2nd opinion. My other pet was immediately switched to this clinic and has been there ever since. They take great care of the pet and the human.

I am super happy that I took my puppy here. The staff was friendly and very helpful. My puppy had worms cause of the person I got him from. The vet was super kind on helping me understand the importance on a good diet for the pup and gave him dewormer. Also, not even a half a day went by you could see the big difference in him. Another thing, the prices are very reasonable and affordable. Highly recommend! 😄

I love this place and, surprisingly, my animals do as well! Dr. Wilkin and Dr. Emily are both great - through and at the same time sensitive to tight budgets and alternative medicine options. I've taken my dogs, cats, guinea pigs, and rabbits to them and they are excellent with all of them. My dog LOVES to go to the vet's office - and I don't know of much higher praise than that!

Just a wonderful clinic, well run, organized, great helpful staff, & wonderful doctor! Very caring and compassionate!
