Dr. Arends, Dr. Young, and the staff at Wadsworth Veterinary Hospital have been taking care of my dog since he was 8 weeks old...and he is now 12. We don't live in the area anymore but I wouldn't even consider going anywhere else. Appointments are easy to schedule. I highly recommend them to those looking for trusted care for their furbaby. Dr. Young and the veterinary assistants are all so kind, compassionate, knowledgeable, friendly and efficient when it comes to handling any of my animals' health concerns, maintenance or emergencies. Zeus had to have surgery on his eyes, Bilateral Entropion, his eyelashes were turned in and rubbing on his eyes and they were always irritated and goopy. He had his surgery done by Dr. Dane Arends at Wadworth Veterinary Hospital. If you care about your pets and want to go to a Vet that will treat them the same way you do, this is the place. Over the past few weeks our Black Lab "Buddy" had begun to suffer. He had been a member of our family for 13 years. By Thursday it was clear the right thing to do was to give him dignity and peace. I was hoping to get him past the holidays but last night he took a turn for the worse. Wadsworth Veterinary Hospital was reccomended to us. I called the morning of Christmas Eve and left a message. Within a few minutes I received a call back by a very caring member of the staff. Her compassion for me and Buddy was amazing, I am sorry I forgot her name. She listened through my crying as I told her about Buddy. They got us in right away and Buddy was checked by Dr. Brittany Young. They explained that Buddy was very sick and that making it to 13 years for a Lab was amazing and that our decision to let him go was the right one. What a horrible experience. My dad scheduled an appointment to have his beloved Lucy put to sleep tonight at 7:00. I went in to check her in at 6:55 and stood for five minutes while three people walked passed and didn't even acknowledge my presence. I was treated so rudely when I questioned that. After 20 additional minutes of waiting, a worker finally came over to me and said they were "working it out". My mom then came in and questioned the wait time. They were so nasty and condescending to her and told her the time was 7:20. That was false! Never have I been treated so poorly! So, we left. I would never recommend this vet to anyone! Read Less

Dr Arends and his staff have were so compassionate and caring at the end of our dogs life. We were fairly new clients at the end. They made a housecall to put out old girl to sleep so she wouldn't have to go through the pain, fear and stress of being hauled to a strange place for this. We are forever grateful for this, as making the decision to euthanize a dear pet is always a hard thing. They eased this process for all of us by coming to our house to allow our dear old dog to pass away at home surrounded by her family. Afterwards, we received a hand written card in the mail expressing their sympathy. Dr Arends truly cares about animals. This veterinary business has been around for awhile, and we had a family dog that we took there for all of the 12 years we had her. The veterinarian is a bit of a "know-it-all." Our family dog recently passed away of old age, and my mom took her here after it happened. Unfortunately, no-one even said a simple "sorry." Our dog had gone to this business for 12 years, and was simply cremated and handed to my mother without any words. A business transaction. Not only had my family loved our dog immensely, but we had spent thousands of dollars to try to make her final years the best they could be. My mother was the dog's primary caretaker after we (her kids) grew up and moved out. If she was traveling somewhere, the dog was boarded for hundreds a week in a pet spa, with detailed instructions for her care, and no expense spared for her well-being. Paperwork for our dog was given to friends to ensure if something happened to my mother, our dog would have a great life with good people. After our dog's passing, my mother applied for a program to adopt a military veteran dog. She referenced the veterinarian at this practice to attest to her care of our family dog. Unfortunately, a short time after applying, my mother was denied after the program spoke with this practice. They told the program that my mom had failed to purchase heart-worm medication from them once during the winter months, and so she wasn't medicating our dog. After speaking to the office personel, they discovered that our dog had been regularly checked for everything that could possibly be wrong & said they'd call the program back and let them know. Unfortunately, their failure to recall or verify the care our dog had been given over the 12 years, means a dog that could've used a loving home has been denied the opportunity. The lack of compassion for one of their canine patients' passing and then their lack of care in evaluating my family's care of our pet properly, has been another heartbreak on top of the sadness losing our family pet has caused all of us. Me, my family members and friends will NEVER give business to this practice again, and none of us will ever bring our canine family members to this compassionless business. If not purchasing heart-worm medication from THEM for any period of time, beware that they will label you unfit to adopt or have animals. $$$ Thanks for your compassion, Wadsworth Veterinary Hospital. Stellar!! I always hate going to new businesses. It's like a box of chocolates u never know what ur gona get...this place is super tiny but really amazing. The staff is very pleasant. Dr. Arends is very personable and explains everything. I'm a business owner and very much appreciate the service they provided my family. I can't say enough pleasant things! Very affordable as well and way more reasonable then other vets we've takin our fury friends. They really have earned my business for life!! Thanks for taking care of our Jinx!! Dr. Arends performed a very delicate surgery on my little Pomeranian/Schnauzer mix for a vulvar tumor. He did a wonderful job! I couldn't have asked for better care! I couldn't create a better veterinarian if you asked me.  Dr. Dane Arends is so caring and attentive to my furry children. Everyone in the office is amazing.  Other docs in the past have simply given me a prescription or two to help my pets, but Dr. Arends takes the time to really explore what may be wrong in the situations when, "my cat just isn't acting like she normally does."  I HIGHLY recommend this office.  They are even nice enough to offer boarding of my pets when I'm on vacation. Not many veterinarians will do that for a reasonable cost. Read Less
