A week ago, Tuesday August 31st 2021 around 8:00am, we dropped our dog off for knee surgery. We expected a call around 3:00pm letting us know how she was doing. What we didn't expect was a call saying that they lost our dog!! When I say they "lost our dog" I mean she somehow ESCAPED from the Clinic!! She was truly lost!! HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN??? We live on the west side of Cleveland. It took us 35 minutes to get to the Clinic. When we arrived NO ONE from the clinic was even out looking for her!! We were told that when they opened her cage to get her prepped for surgery that is when she got loose. My husband and I looked for her for about an hour before we received a call telling us to come back to the clinic that someone brought her back. Thankfully we have her home with us today. We truly believed when we arrived at the clinic that we would never see her again! I still do not understand how she was able to get out of a facility that is set up to solely take care of animals. (The scary thing is, the doctor told my husband that this is NOT the 1st time this has happened!!) I can understand how she was frightened by just being there and she is definitely not used to being in a cage, so when the cage door was opened, it doesn't surprise me that she tried to run. But that doesn't explain how she could get outside the building!!! She has never opened a door by herself at home or anywhere else we have taken her. Another thing that bothered me was we received the call that she was missing at 2:45pm, we later found out that she had been missing since 1:30pm. Why were we not called IMMEDIATELY?!? There are still so many unanswered questions. We are not sure who found her or where she was, by the time we returned to the clinic whoever brought her back was gone. If you happen to read this, THANK YOU! She is everything to us and we don't even want to think about what we would have done if she was lost to us forever!! My last comment regarding what I feel is lack of professionalism on the part of the doctor and the clinic is that NO ONE has even bothered to call us to check to see if she is OK!! Obviously, she came home without having her surgery. We are now looking for a new vet that we can trust to take care of her as good as or better than we do! And we hope that the clinic is seriously looking into securing their facility including each room that an animal may be in so that no family has to go through this traumatic heartbreaking experience ever again. WVC has taken care of all our household pets for over 20 years. Each time we take in another stray, they work with us to assure our new little creature is healthy and ready to join our home. They helped us save a kitten several years ago and have since done colon surgery on the same little cat. Most recently they are helping us deal with our oldest cat seizuring, two others dealing with anxiety of our accepting an abandoned stray and assuring her health. Yes I do feel I have probably helped finance part of their beautiful facility, but you get what you pay for and at WVC you and your pets receive the best possible care, love and support from the entire staff! Luckily I found a place in medina that helped her and did the same surgery she needed to save her life for $300 because they truly care for animals not the money. How can you charge 800$ to 1000$ for the same surgery? They saved her life you turned her away. I would think you became a vet for the love and care of animals not for the money shame on u. Read Less

I would like to Thank the Wellington Vet Clinic Doctors, Vet Techs, Kennel Staff and the Office Administration.  Why?  Because they provided a beautiful cat named Elsa to a married couple who are both deaf.  Their cat had an illness and had to leave their home.  Richard came to my office to explain how very sad his wife was and how she cried because she missed her precious cat.  Well, after checking, Elsa was the perfect cat to become part of their family.  She jumped right out of the carrier the day I took her there and went to investigate all of her new found toys.  She even has a bedroom for herself with a big and little bed.  The employees at Wellington Vet Clinic have made this family complete again, and the loving attitudes everyone of you showed to Kathy and Richard will never be forgotten.  I know each of you is sad to lose your furry friend, but you paid beautiful Elsa cat forward to complete the lives of this wonderful couple. Dr. Orosz wouldn't come out on a farm call because, in his 26 years of practice, he had never heard of a sheath that was just cleaned 6 months ago inhibiting a horse from urinating and that wasn't an emergency. Well, guess he hasn't seen everything, because my regular vet, whom I was going to leave and switch to Wellington (due to proximity, not level of care), came out, cleaned his sheath under sedation since he's a kicker (reason why I couldn't do it myself), removed several obstructing beans from around his urethra, and lo and behold! My horse can pee 2 hours after sedation. Guess you don't know everything, Dr. Orosz. And I guess you don't need clients that badly if you treat them all the way you treated my family and I. I'll be sticking with my vet in Ashland, regardless of distance and I'll be sure to tell everyone if my experience with your establishment. Thank you for your time. I'm sorry we wasted it.Read Less

I took my Dads dog in to have him euthanized after he was kicked in the head by a horse. I was upset about it as anyone would be.The front office staff was just annoying in asking me if he was vaccinated, what breed, and if he were neutered etc. just to fill out some computerized form. I worked for a vet and we would have never asked stupid questions of someone who was humanely putting a pet to sleep. The next incident was when I had a horse with a foot abcess and hobbling on three legs. I did not have a hoof knife so when the vet was out for another issue I asked him to check this horse. He asked me what foot it was. Seriously, the horse was holding the painful foot off the ground that's how obvious it was. I told him to forget it and called the blacksmith. The final straw was the $800 bill I received that included $100 for sedating a baby colt to get a blood sample. In conclusion,  this veterinary service is underperforming in areas and WAY overpriced. I only used them because they were available quickly.  You will pay through the nose for sure so get out your checkbook. Read Less

You know it's heartbreaking and hard to understand how you can over charge for a surgery that is life threatening and the client cannot pay u can sleep at night sending the dog home to die.

You are all Blessed!! Read Less

Dr. Steven Kranz, and the wellington staff are awsome. I cannot say enough good stuff about them. On April 8 Dr. Kranz performed a bilateral TTA surgery on our furry family member Buddy. That is a Cruciate ligament surgery. Buddy couldn't walk because of the damage to both his back legs. The compassion, and professional care Buddy received was first class all the way. We are so lucky to have such a wonderful facility like this close to where we live. Buddy is doing really well, and has received wonderful care. Not only are they well trained caregivers, they also care about their patients and the parents of the patient. We cannot say enough good about the clinic and its staff. We are comfortable with all of the vets and vet techs. All are fabulous. However we do favor Doctor Jennifer and Heidi. Thank you to each and every one of you for your expert care.

Read Less
