My daughter took her pet lamb, Blossom, to this butcher shop, and the vet gave her what he claimed was an antibiotic shot. Two hours later, I sat by my daughter's side as we watched the breath slowly leave this poor lamb's body. The lamb was born with Spina Bifida, but under my daughters care she was growing, thriving and learning to walk. This lamb was in good health, she was breathing strong and full of life and energy when my wife and daughter drove her to the vet. Now she is dead.I called the vet and he refused to accept any responsibility. When I told him the lamb was in good health before she went to the vet, he told me I was not a vet and therefore did not have the medical knowledge to make that statement. He said he gave the lamb the shot because she had a slight fever. He did not check the lamb's heart, nor take any other vitals, and he did not weigh the lamb until after he gave her the shot.It turns out that he did not give the lamb a simple antibiotic, but Resflor Gold which is used to treat BRD (Bovine Respiratory Disease). Not only did the lamb not have this disease, but the vet gave her 1.5 ml BEFORE he weighed her.The most a lamb her weight should have received was .84 ml. The vet almost doubled the dosage she should have received.I may not have a veterinary degree, but I know a lamb that is breathing strong, one that is full of energy and only has a slight fever, even one with Spina Bifida, does not simply waste away and die in two hours time. Please do not take you animal to this incompetent vet!
