Had a very bad experience from these crooks. My dog ripped her nail and it needed attention. She needed her shots updated also but I told them I couldn’t afford everything. They asked if they could sedate my pup to work on her and I agreed not knowing they were going to rape me and hold my dog as a hostage til I could come up with $250! I couldn’t afford $120 and they knew that. Then they bent me over and used my dog as leverage to rob me. I wouldn’t even give them a star, but you can’t comment without it. Buyers beware!!! I have had excellent experiences here. They take good care of our dog. Annual exams, teeth cleaning, boarding. They seem to love our dog and he seems to love them. My mom always trusted this clinic from back in the late 90's and I always have too. I can't imagine anyone else caring for our little buddy. Read Less

I have taken my dog to several animal hospitals throughout her life (she is 16 yrs old). I was searching for an animal hospital who had a friendly office staff, knowledgeable and caring doctors and a fair price. I was thrilled to find West Jefferson Animal Hospital! Their staff and doctors compare to none. They are truly wonderful people who clearly have a passion for the well being of animals. I've been taking my cats here for about 5 years now and couldn't be happier. Their hours are very flexible (nights and Saturdays) and the staff is always pleasant. Their front desk staff has changed a lot since i started going there and I miss the old girls who were super friendly. This place is always packed and there's a reason why - they're great at what they do. They explain things well so you know what's going on and don't give you unrealistic expectations about the outcome. The doctors personally call you to let you know how surgery or test results were and I think that can be hard to find. My cats by no means love going there but they're good at keeping them calm and as relaxed as possible.  I'm a client for life! Read Less

****GOOD JOB LOOSING CUSTOMERS, ESPECIALLY NEW ONES**** I agree the Veterinarians appear to care about the animals they see but a much less than satisfactory experience for myself 08/2016! They also seem to want to charge for every single instance of needed care even though THEY require follow-ups for boosters? Our incidence came from being new to the area and taking 1 of our recuse animals here for their annual. We told them that our dog would be there in 2 weeks for boarding and needed ALL work done for him to be boarded there. The vet said he needed a immunization they required but said we "could have it done when we brought him in" and left it at that. When we dropped him off we were informed at that time it would be another office visit and exam charge of which was NOT volunteered to us previously. I attempted to explain this and the woman at the desk merely balked and said "there's nothing I can do since it's not my problem". During the next attempt to understand why this was not divulged to us when 2 weeks ago it would have NOT resulted in an additional charge she stated "I don't care" to my wife and I twice. I contact the "owner/veterinarian" and explained this to her. She seemed concerned but was VERY questioning about my "end of the conversation" vs. the employees story of which she was made privy to prior to my conversation. I was told she would questionably investigate and get back to me at which, as of this date, has not happened. With this type of, or should I say LACK of, customer service I am seeking another decent vet's office in the area and suggest that maybe, if they have people working in their office with this attitude, I would question the treatment of your animals left in their care. The doctors and staff at this facility are some of the most caring and compassionate people (both for the pets they care for AND the pet parents who love them) that I have EVER experienced. They went so far above and beyond their 'jobs' and took time out of their personal lives to console a distraught customer. I am impressed beyond words. Read Less

Yesterday my mom and dad lost their precious dog Emma. They had just left West Jefferson Animal Hospital when Emma died in my mom's arms. They returned to the Animal Hospital where they surrounded my parents with love and concern. Just that alone would be enough to thank them for. But, after returning home, my mom received a phone call from the vet who operated on Emma. Did I mention that he was in New York on vacation? He cried with my 81 year old mother and offered his condolences. What a wonderful man! Then, today she received a beautiful bouquet of roses signed by the entire staff at the vet. It's so rare to find such caring people! I'm glad that they loved Emma as much as my parents did! Thank you West Jefferson Animal Hospital!
