Best vet office I've ever been to. Even in the evening appointments, they tend to be close to on time unless there's been an emergency or something that threw off the schedule by a lot. I've seen several of the doctors here but mostly deal with Dr. Cheever, and he's absolutely amazing with all 3 of my animals - 2 cats and a dog. He's very compassionate and happy to explain everything he does, from just a check-up to treatment plans. He's also great about working with me to find solutions that are within my budget, which is very appreciated since I seem to pick all the animals with medical issues. Great staff, great office, and accommodating hours. Love it. Read Less

We were bringing our pet from out of town. It is very hard to get all the forms and shots done for boarding when there is so many people handling our calls. Everyone was nice but we did not get the same information each time. Annehurst was suppose to contact our Vet for information which never happened. Being from another state, it is not a smooth process. Annehurst came highly recommended from people we visit in the area. We would have loved to travel with our dog. Read Less

The Annehurst Veterinary Hospital is wonderful. They typically can get you in the same day and they have 24 hour emergency hours. The vets and staff are compassionate, kind, caring, and thorough. My dog has had all kinds of medical issues and I would not go anywhere else. My only issue is the vets have a high turnover rate. I prefer to request the same vet each time, but as soon as I get comfortable with one, they are gone. It helps having the same vet each time, but honestly they are all great. Read Less

I've been with Annehurst for a very long time. They've always done such a great job with my dogs. I decided to write this review because I had to put one of my dogs to sleep Monday. A week before I made the decision, she was unable to use her back legs all of the sudden. It was late on a Sunday night when it happened. I called and a tech answered their emergency line. She said she would reach out to a vet. I can't remember his name, but a doctor called me back fairly quickly. We discussed and decided that I'd bring her in the following day, though he said he'd come in if I needed him to. He then called back a few hours later to check on my dog. After a week of steroids, it became clear my girl wasn't getting any better, and actually took a turn for the worse. I had been working with Dr. Virtue and wanted to rush my dog in to put her to sleep, as it was clear she was suffering at that moment. I was told Dr. Virtue was unavailable, but they'd put me with another Dr. I came in, and Dr. Virtue is the one who ended up being the one to put her down. I love that she took the time out of her schedule. This place deserves the five stars! I have many other great stories, but this is just the recent. Thanks Annehurst! Read Less

I was customer for 9 years. Was great going once a year for check up because my dog was so healthy, and that time my experience was good.Usualy from puppy age my dog was always seen by doctor , (is female, she left state)She was amazing! After her, dr Harris was one who start see my dog.Was good until recently my dog start with seizures. Was hard time for me and my familyAll the test back normal, no sign for anything we need to be worrying.I remember ,answer is "just because he get older(8yrs)some time is happening and with specific dogs breeds, and even with medication he going to have seizures some time. Was hard for me and my husband.Seizures actually start b more often , and is happening that he has two seizures in 5-6 hours. We spent so much money to do all different test and that start problems, every time if we have emergency , I call , I left messages and messages and dr Harris never call back Usually his nursing technician call after so many messages I left.Almost like he ignored my call and he pushes someone also to call me back.First proscribed medicine was wrong and we found out after almost one month I give this medication to my dog.The specialist in Medvet actually say something about that he take wrong medicine, but Dr Harris say this is pharmacy mistake.I go back to pharmacy , they has original proscription from dr Harris, was his mistake. Was over, we decided to go somewhere for second opinion, we decided to do MRI .. we want to help my baby boy. After second opinion and MRI...,I remember I call one day Dr Harris , not remember whay I call ,I left message This time I have call back in 5 min , was surprised! His nurse technician, she was always very rude and not friendly , she say to phone ""dr Harris not accepted new patients right now "She say , if is emergency I can go to Medvet.I was shocked,I can't say anything .. I know that reason for her quick call back and this answer is because we decided to do second option,, They not respect any one , all is money and more patient, but they don't care about ... don't care how much money I left for past 9 years... I'm not recommending this place for anyone... I heard so many other stories from people , and you can't see this review anywhere... Read Less

For 20+ years, Dr. Mark Harris has been my partner in caring for my furry family members. Even when my pups were out of his care and critically hospitalized at OSU and at North FL Animal Hospital -  Dr. Harris has always been there for our family, and helped us consider all options and make decisions.  Recently, I rushed my 7-9ish year old rescue to Annehurst for care; he certainly didn't look like he was dying... but I feared he was in bad shape because of his actions.  Dr. Gonzales took us right in; after evaluation, she told me Wilson needed surgery for a twisted stomach (that's what killed Marley of "Marley and Me"). Dr. Harris was off that night, but when the surgery didn't go well, the office called him and he took the time to drive to his office to see if he could do anything to help and to communicate with me. We had no idea Wilson was in such bad shape.  Our trust in Mark made it easier to make the decision to let Wilson go without further pain.  Previously, Dr. Mark gave us a bonus year with our precious Gibson!  OSU said to put him down-Dr. Mark said absolutely NO! Dr. Mark was right! Gibson made us smile everyday for another year!!  BTW--OSU wasn't wrong; they just didn't understand the dynamics of our household. And, Daisy.. Her not-so-forever family brought her to him to be euth'd because she was old and fat.  She had another 2 stellar years after her family gave up on her because of Dr. Harris--this is personal to me because I was her foster turned permanent Mom.  Dr. Mark has helped me with several rescues!!Dr. Mark Harris is the best vet on the planet, and he enables me to be the best furkid Mom I can be :-) Read Less

They have always taken excellent care of my pets. The veterinarians and staff are top notch, very caring, compassionate, and helpful. Their prices are competitive as well. I've worked with Dr. Harris at CHA Animal Shelter as well, and know from experience that he is one of the most knowledgeable, compassionate vets around. I'm also very happy with all of the other veterinarians I've dealt with. As far as people complaining about prices, their pricing IS competitive in Westerville. But they will go above and beyond most of the other practices, plus I've had them meet me at the clinic for past emergencies. Try getting most other vets to do that! The veterinarians I went to before wouldn't take my dog in; she needed stitches due to a sliced paw, because "sorry, we close in five minutes. " I called them in a semi-panic, and they got me right in, did the stitches, plus did a follow up visit, even though at the time, I wasn't a client. The price was very reasonable, and they saved me a pricey visit to Medvet! So I switched, and haven't regretted it. If you don't care much about your pets, find the inexpensive ones; they ARE out there, and you'll get what you pay for. I feel that I am getting my money's worth with the caring and expertise I've experienced here. Read Less

I have been using this vet for years but after my last visit, I am done. The vet I had before - Dr. Blanton was amazing. I never had to worry that I would be charged for tests that were not necessary and I always knew my cat was in good hands. After several years of terrible trips to the vet where my cat was so stressed out she would bite anyone that tried to help her, Dr. Blanton suggested putting her into a light sleep in order to treat her. This made trips to the vet a breeze and did not break the bank. However, Dr. Blanton is no longer there and times have changed. My last trip included the usual sleepy time but this time, instead of being charged $30 for that extra treatment that makes the visit easier, I was charged $165! That did not include the general check up and vaccinations, nor did it include the x-rays. I was even pressured to run more tests but I decided that I had probably spent enough. When I got my bill for $400 I was in shock. I went home and pulled out old invoices to see how much I normally paid....no where near that for the same services. I called the office to voice my concern and was told that prices have gone up. There were no offers to give a credit, no offers to receive free services, not even an apology. My guess is that my old vet wouldn't last in this "up-sell" environment - she probably was too cost conscious for her clients. I won't be back. The place itself is fine but to not tell someone who has been coming there for years that a service that is ALWAYS used has increased by that much, that's just plain bad customer service. Read Less

I would have given them 5 stars until my last experience.  This was enough to stop me from using this vet after being a client for 25 years.  My vet, Dr. Madwar is incredible -- unfortunately she doesn't do anything surgical.  In the past any necessary surgical procedures were done by other vets at this facility.  They were willing to learn about the unique medical needs of the greyhound (and there are many).  One of them even had greyhounds of her own.  Well my 5 year old greyhound needed a dental.  They didn't have any greyhound savvy vets on staff at the time so Dr. Madwar recommended the owner, Dr. Harris. Since my dog is a blood donor at OSU, I brought in her full blood-work from OSU along with a research study showing what normal values were for a greyhound.  Dr. Harris kept trying to convince me that her kidneys were bad.  I kept showing him the OSU study that said that greyhound kidney values are high and that the standard "greyhound" values reported by IDEXX are inaccurate.  It was like talking to a brick wall.  I explained that greyhounds were very sensitive to various medications and he brushed me off, saying that he knew all that.  I asked him to pay special attention to a chipped canine tooth and requested x-rays of that tooth.  Well I went to pick her up at the end of the day and Dr. Harris said she came through great.  When I asked him what the x-ray looked like he said the x-ray showed the tooth was fine.  They brought her out and she was barely able to walk.  I asked what medications they gave her.  Dr. Harris admitted to giving her acepromazine because she was too "noisy" when she was coming out of the anesthesia  -- but he wouldn't tell me the dosage. Greyhounds are known to be very sensitive to acepromazine and should never be given more than 1/2 the normal dog dose. It took my dog almost 2 days to recover enough to be able to walk without a sling.  I even took her to OSU that night because I was so worried.  All this because of a simple dental without extractions.   I called again and Dr. Harris never returned my phone calls.  I didn't even ask them to pay for my emergency vet visit to OSU.  Despite loving Dr. Madwar, I decided to move my business elsewhere.  I went in to pick up my records a week later.  I asked for a copy of the dental x-ray.  I was told that no x-ray was done.  I take her into her new vet a couple of days later.  He looks at her tooth and expresses concern.  He recommended that it be x-rayed if she ever needed to be anesthetized or if there was sign of infection.  Well two weeks later (just 3 weeks after her dental) she was clearly in pain.  I took her to her new vet who did an x-ray   The bone underneath the canine was very infected.  He had to extract her canine.  An infection this bad doesn't occur within 3 weeks of a previous dental.  I once again called Annehurst.  I asked to speak to the office manager.  I explained all of the above this and still did not receive a call from Dr. Harris.  I am sincerely going to miss Dr. Madwar.  She is an incredible clinician and very, very caring.  She is the only reason I didn't give this review 1 star.  I need to go to a vet who admits if he doesn't know something, who will listen, and who I trust not to kill my dog during a routine surgical procedure. Dr. Crase is the bomb dot com. My dog is a beast, he's a huge Great Dane. At home he's a big lap dog baby. However as soon as he's in the vets office & he sees a vet or vet tech & growls like an asshole. He's never bitten, but it's pretty frustrating. He's been to a few vets before moving here, & many of them were put off by the behavior. One of them was even like "I can't believe this dog is a therapy dog!" Hard to explain that he hates YOU, but he loves everyone else. Hell, my 17 month old uses him as a jungle gym & takes treats right out of his mouth, it's strictly a vet thing. Dr. Crase is the FIRST doctor who took the time to get on his level, avert her eyes, wait until he was coming to her to start work. Every time she'd leave & come back she'd do it again if needed. By the end of his appointments with her he is literally tail wagging & leaning on her for love. That kind of treatment speaks volumes for me. I literally drive past 2 much closer offices to see her. I'll be getting all of the "kids" on a schedule with her as soon as finances pick up for us. Also she let's me be involved in treatment plans. I'm sure there's a way she'd rather do things, but from what I see she understands not everyone is by the book. Also the staff has always been super friendly. & they love The Monster as well. I'd give 5 stars if prices were a smidgen lower.

Read Less
