We just moved to the area so I wanted to find a vet for our senior dog who has cancer and is on a palliative care regimen from our old vet. When I explained all of this, the person who answered the phone seemed bothered that I wanted to schedule an appointment and was rude about the fact that they're extremely booked right now. I didn't say I was looking for an appointment right away, just that we wanted to establish a vet for our dog who doesn't have much time left, so her attitude was extremely off-putting. Read Less

I called several vets in the area (including my regular vet) to get my dog in for burnt paws. No one could get me in, but they were able to get me in immediately! The staff was incredibly helpful and put me at ease, I felt so bad for my pup! They were great with my dog, who normally is very anxious during vet visits. Sadly today we found out our 3 year old cat have FIB. Damien was our vet and he gave us the best course of action for Gizmo. Sadly FIB is not curable and eventually we will lose him. The staff at this location is amazing and they care about you and your fur baby. I'm glad I came here instead of another vet. The entire staff is awesome!! Our lab Finn loves them too! They’re so friendly, kind and professional. I wouldn’t trust anyone else with our boy. They are always so helpful and Jack the VT goes over every detail and makes sure we have every question answered. Taylor and Liz are always happy and helpful and they are so good with Finn. I just had my 13 year old Chihuahua's teeth cleaned on Friday and appreciated the thorough and thoughtful care of WestVets. He had a slightly elevated level in his blood work, so they rechecked it before even thinking of putting him under anesthesia. As soon as he was finished I was called to know he did well and when to pick him up. I also got a phone call on Monday to check on him. Front office staff is so quick to get you off the phone. Called to ask what the latest time we could drop off for boarding was and was told 5:30pm. Got there at 3:30 ON OUR WAY to leave and turns out they were closed. Girl on the phone didn't bother to realize that they apparently close early on Wednesday when I called earlier. Flat out- I love this place. I am so happy to have this as my home vet, it is a blessing. These people are very sharp and very passionate about pets and caring for them. Always knowledgeable and willing to help with anything, plus I can ask my dumb questions and not feel intimidated. When we moved to Westerville last year we wanted to give them a try and we are very pleased that we did. We take both of our dogs and really enjoy the staff. We always go right back to a room and the wait time is minimal. They are so friendly and knowledgeable. Unfortunately we had to put one of our dogs down a couple months ago due to cancer that they were able to detect in its early stages and were able to give her the best quality of life that they could. Our first visit was great. We just got our first labradoodle puppy and wanted a vet close to home and is close and easy to get to. Puppy Jake did great on his visit. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!It has taken me a little bit to write this review. I don't even know where to start with how wonderful this place is and the people that work there!! We unfortunately had to put both of our dogs down within a 2 1/2 week time period due to cancer. Every single person in that office was so caring and so wonderful to both of our dogs and to us! You could tell that it affected them also. When we took our second one in, during the process, Dr. Couling sat there on the floor with us throughout the whole process. She and the vet tech were both tearing eyed with us. And she, (Dr. Couling), gave us such encouraging words during the whole process. Every single person in that office was affected and you could tell. They were wonderful! I really just don't have the words to convey how much I adore everyone that works there!! I encourage everyone that has a pet in this area that wants to have a vets office that truly cares about your pets..... go here!!! We still have our cat and I will continue to go this this office! First of all... the young lady that answered the phone when we were inquiring about appointments was very cheery and helpful. Being new to the area she was patient with my questions. We were able to schedule right away.Their hours are great...open till 6 with some weekend times and 24 hour emergency service.The facility is large and modern. Clean and smelled great. Exam rooms were modern and equipment shiny and new. The staff is wonderful. It is apparent that these folks live for animals. Dr. Couling is a pro. Her techs and assistants are top notch. They offer flat rate monthy plans, in case you have a special needs pet. This is very affordable.They also offer coupons! Yes, COUPONS for basic services in monthly mailers. These people were great. Had a last minute emergency with one of our cats. We're able to see her, her her taken care of super fast even though they were busy. And were well priced. Loved the staff and all so much I wanted to use them for dog sitting for Memorial Day weekend. Unfortunately, they don't have many kennels and weren't able to accommodate my 50 lb dog last minute. My dog is a super jumping, high flying, beyond hyper hot mess.It was time for his yearly check-up, and to be honest, I was tired of messing around with his normal vet office not accepting credit/debit cards so I was on the hunt. Of course, I came to yelp to look and this place seemed like a great place to start.I called to make an appointment. The young lady that answered the phone was very professional & very friendly. She got me in on the day I needed & at the perfect time.On the way back to my fur baby's room they attempted to get my dog's weight. I say attempted because, true to his nature, he was all over the place and refused to hold still to get an accurate reading. They were very patient with him and didn't make a fuss over his behavior (thank goodness!!).They then took us back to his room where he could hear other dogs barking, which made him even more excited and more hyper. When the vet came in he jumped all over him (in a nice, playful manner). My dog was so excited & nervous that they had to bring in another young man to help the vet hold him still so they could do the examination. They finally got his temperature & vitals. They took him to another room to trim his nails and test his poop for parasites.I was emailed within an hour with the poop test results.They even gave my dog some treats & my son a sucker. I've lived in Columbus now for about 3 years and I'm so happy using the services here and I trust this clinic. The staff is super friendly and always excited to see my dogs. No reviews yet? I'm surprised I'm the first.As the owner of an elderly, senile dog and 3 cats...and having moved a number of times in the past 5 years...I would say I've seen a number of vets. I even tried a few around Columbus before settling on Westerville Vet Clinic.I've worked with both Dr. Stoughton (for our dog) and Dr. Couling (for our cats). They are both very nice and willing to talk to you about anything. Our cats haven't had much issues, but our dog certainly has...Dr. Stoughton is comfortable with going against the traditional book in recommending treatments for our dog (such as not getting any more vaccinations due to his age). And he always explains WHY he is recommending a particular course of treatment. He was also the first one (after many mis-diagnosis from other vets) to really recognize that our dog was going senile and his behavioral change was attributed to that and assigned us medication that has been the first thing to help.The staff is also super nice and they all seem very happy to see me.They do have doggie daycare and boarding where the care seems to be excellent, although there are more "posh" options around Columbus for a similar price. Plus, the boarding staff is only available for a small selection of hours in the morning and evening. I have boarded there and would feel very comfortable doing it again, but have lately switched my business; but I will definitely continue to utilize their vet services! Read Less
