My family had gone to Dr. Moroff for a several years with many of our extended family (our fur babies) and we were all very satisfied with his care, UNTIL Melissa Smith took over his practice. She is Money Hungry and lacks professionalism. Several incidences have happened to confirm this. My puppy had allergies, visible allergies. Goopy eyes, horrible looking ears, and HIVES. Multiple hives from head to toe. Instead of recommending several things AND an allergy test, she recommended one flea medication at a time (she swore it was from fleas) (she does this because she knows you will have to come back again for another visit to really solve the issue, which means more $$$ for her) after several months of agony my puppy was in and trial after trial of her ideas and ($$$) (she stated in a later visit that she knew it was from allergies, this of course being after I demanded an allergy test) My puppies medication had been changed several times, and several vet visits charged for this which added up to the amount an allergy test would have been to begin with. (more $$$) I had to stop the nonsense and demand the allergy test. (he was allergic to beef and venison) (which meant a simple food change) (the test was sooooo worth it, my baby no longer had to suffer from those horrible hives) Also, my puppy was on flea medication that SHE stated no longer worked (told my husband the hives were from fleas, which a few flea eggs were found on him, and she stated this is why it was took off her shelves and she no longer sold this product) (but no contact was made by a free via email, free phone call, or by 3 cent post card to her patients that the medication they were on wasn't working, BUT we were however, charged another office visit to come back in and get on something that worked which again made her more $$$ AGAIN) Now this last visit is the kicker and shows incompetence that should be noted by ALL pet owners. We are not vets right? Right. Our baby was on flea, tick and heartworm medication that was previously given by Melissa Smith, DVM. So when my husband took our baby back to Melissa Smith to change his flea prevention, she never mentioned that now the flea medication he was on no longer on had heart worm medication in it and didn't offer him another alternative. (my husband assumed this new medication took care of all of that and rightfully so because he wasn't told otherwise and he thought she being the vet would make sure of this because that IS her job) Sooooooo here we are again back at "her new office" and PAYING once again for an office visit (more $$$ for her) to put our baby on medication he was already on prior and wasn't given again because she NEVER mentioned he wasn't covered anymore through this new flea preventative. There is a pattern here. ($$$) So please reconsider taking your loved ones to this facility. I would hate for your pet to endure the struggle mine has just to make her an extra buck. We have a pure bred shepherd and his care means the world to us, so in reality she would have made more money off of me if she gave the care he deserved instead of scamming petty dollars into her bank account with extra unnecessary office visits and medications she knew wouldn't fix the issue. Heart worm medication is a MUST. This can be a life or death situation here or a very hard life for your pet if infected. Your vet is responsible for making sure you are offered this at every visit if your baby isn't covered or was covered and no longer is. Make the smart choice for your loved one and please do not take them to Melissa Smith with 305 Animal Hospital.
P.S. I wouldn't have given her even one star but had to in order for this to post. We were THAT dissatisfied. Read Less
