Love the veterinarian here he really cares about the animals and has been doing this for years his prices are extremely reasonable and he's on premises with the animals overnight if need be. i have been a client of dr. richard & willow run for over 20 years. he is the best vet within 20 miles of cleveland oh. he is allergic to animals but has treated them for about 40 years! his practice is on the 1st floor of his huge house and he lives on the 2nd floor, so that he can be close to any pets that are staying overnight. he comes down, like a grandma, and checks on them regularly until he goes to sleep! he is the most kind, caring, intelligent, and reasonable vet i have encountered in the whole area. his staff are very nice, also. you will never visit any other vet once you try him. he is worth the drive for you and your pets- no matter how far away you live. he is across from a custard stand and chinese restaurant.

Dr. Sol and his staff are excellent. My dog Roxie needed an emergency procedure and it was of course right around business close. I hate, as in, really hate going to Tyler Animal Clinic, so Stacy volunteered to come in on her day off the next morning, earlier than their normal start time, so that Dr. Sol and her could take care of my dog. Appreciate every one of the staff members. Loretta is great too!

Dr. Solwitz ordered unnecessary tests and classified my schnauzer as having congestive heart failure when she showed no signs to support that diagnosis. He ordered a potentially dangerous class of me...
Dr. Solwitz ordered unnecessary tests and classified my schnauzer as having congestive heart failure when she showed no signs to support that diagnosis. He ordered a potentially dangerous class of medication to treat the alleged Heart Failure that was only indicated for New York Heart Association Grade II or higher congestive heart failure that my dog clearly did not have. The medication threw my dog into a dangerous heart rhythm called supraventricular tachycardia that I needed to do a carotid massage to ablate. Had I not graduated from medical school and known what to do, my dog may well have had dire consequences. Dr. Solwitz clearly got in over his head with regard to internal medicine issues and should have acknowledged his limitations. I cannot, in good faith, recommend any health care provider who tries to play God and order tests, procedures, or medications that are not indicated. The first code of any health care provider is to "do no harm"; my dog was harmed by the treatment prescribed. I have removed my pets from his care and would advise potential clients to think carefully prior to utilizing his services.

As an ex employee of a veterinary office for several years I am pretty well informed on area veterinary practices. I took my cat here once. Dr. Solwitz was so extremely rude about my ex employer (a veterinarian who passed away a few years ago) that from now on I am willing to drive very far out of my way to avoid this place. His prices are high and he loves to try and sell you unnecessary additions. The calls that continue for over a year after your last visit are more than excessive. My cat had a very minor problem and calling to "check on him" was not only unnecessary but also very annoying, especially considering how unhappy with the doctor I was. I have friends who absolutely love taking their animals here but I will never do such again. He talked down to me and made several comments about how my dead boss was probably "looking up at us from Hell". Should have reported him to the BBB, but I chose to ignore his ignorance and unprofessionalism.

Just adopted a rescue dog and a local recommended this clinic. I cannot even begin to describe how kind and loving all his staff were. My poor dog was visibly shaking, and they were so sweet offering treats (which he was too scared to eat), stroking him and just loving him up. I got solid care for my new dog, reasonably priced heartworm and flea medication, and good advice on future trainers. Now, I know we all hate going to the vet - and I am no exception because they are so expensive - but I watched this vet function with four assistants - so think of his overhead. And I understand that this vet is one of the less expensive vets in the area.The other remarkable thing was that as I was waiting our turn, I listened to the assistants calling patient's owners. One call went like this: "Hi, I'm calling from Willow Run Vet Clinic. The last time your brought in Fluffy, he wasn't using his box. How is that problem going for you now?' Another call was about a very sick dog and obviously a painful decision to put the dog down. Before the assistant scheduled an appointment, she arranged a time for the doctor to call and talk to them later in the evening.I want this vet for my new buddy - and I suspect you do too.

Although I've only ever gone to Dr. Solowitz (and once his colleague in an emergency), I can say that he's one of the best vets out there! He was friendly and very gentle with all of my cats and, like Juan says, him and his staff have a great memory and will remember you and your pets. Even after my pets passed he was still very courteous and send a card to check up on things after the fact - that especially impressed me! If I still lived in the area and had pets I would definitely continue going to him.

Dr. Solwitz ordered unnecessary tests and classified my schnauzer as having congestive heart failure when she showed no signs to support that diagnosis. He ordered a potentially dangerous class of medication to treat the alleged Heart Failure that was only indicated for New York Heart Association Grade II or higher congestive heart failure that my dog clearly did not have. The medication threw my dog into a dangerous heart rhythm called supraventricular tachycardia that I needed to do a carotid massage to ablate. Had I not graduated from medical school and known what to do, my dog may well have had dire consequences. Dr. Solwitz clearly got in over his head with regard to internal medicine issues and should have acknowledged his limitations. I cannot, in good faith, recommend any health care provider who tries to play God and order tests, procedures, or medications that are not indicated. The first code of any health care provider is to "do no harm"; my dog was harmed by the treatment prescribed. I have removed my pets from his care and would advise potential clients to think carefully prior to utilizing his services.

As an ex employee of a veterinary office for several years I am pretty well informed on area veterinary practices. I took my cat here once. Dr. Solwitz was so extremely rude about my ex employer (a veterinarian who passed away a few years ago) that from now on I am willing to drive very far out of my way to avoid this place. His prices are high and he loves to try and sell you unnecessary additions. The calls that continue for over a year after your last visit are more than excessive. My cat had a very minor problem and calling to "check on him" was not only unnecessary but also very annoying, especially considering how unhappy with the doctor I was. I have friends who absolutely love taking their animals here but I will never do such again. He talked down to me and made several comments about how my dead boss was probably "looking up at us from Hell". Should have reported him to the BBB, but I chose to ignore his ignorance and unprofessionalism.

Just adopted a rescue dog and a local recommended this clinic. I cannot even begin to describe how kind and loving all his staff were. My poor dog was visibly shaking, and they were so sweet offering treats (which he was too scared to eat), stroking him and just loving him up. I got solid care for my new dog, reasonably priced heartworm and flea medication, and good advice on future trainers. Now, I know we all hate going to the vet - and I am no exception because they are so expensive - but I watched this vet function with four assistants - so think of his overhead. And I understand that this vet is one of the less expensive vets in the area.The other remarkable thing was that as I was waiting our turn, I listened to the assistants calling patient's owners. One call went like this: "Hi, I'm calling from Willow Run Vet Clinic. The last time your brought in Fluffy, he wasn't using his box. How is that problem going for you now?' Another call was about a very sick dog and obviously a painful decision to put the dog down. Before the assistant scheduled an appointment, she arranged a time for the doctor to call and talk to them later in the evening.I want this vet for my new buddy - and I suspect you do too.

Although I've only ever gone to Dr. Solowitz (and once his colleague in an emergency), I can say that he's one of the best vets out there! He was friendly and very gentle with all of my cats and, like Juan says, him and his staff have a great memory and will remember you and your pets. Even after my pets passed he was still very courteous and send a card to check up on things after the fact - that especially impressed me! If I still lived in the area and had pets I would definitely continue going to him.
