Our normal vet had closed so we took our poor Nero here (our vet in Hilliard recommended MedVer Worthington, NOT Hilliard) who had vomited all day and had a swollen eye and mouth. Within minutes of our arrival a vet tech looked at Nero to make sure he wasn't in any immediate danger. He was very friendly and reassuring that he didn't think it was anything serious, just a reaction. We got back to see the vet in a relatively timely manner (it's at night, it's not going to be quick). Everyone was so friendly with Nero and treated him like their own pet. By the next day the swelling was gone and he was on the mend. Could not be happier with the entire experience. The staff here is very comforting! I went in with a medical emergency with my puppy and yes the staff does "make jokes or acts quite cheery" but it really did help me calm down! I went in thinking there would be some sort of panic or something but they were saying that this kind of thing happens sometimes and she is in good hands and telling me how cute she is... Well it really helps to calm the nerves! I definitely did not see that as them "not taking it seriously" like other reviews have have stated. Not to mention the most important part, they saved my puppy's life!! she had to stay overnight for treatment and monitoring and they allowed me to call and check on her, keeping me updated and I could hear the compassion in everyone's voice that I spoke to over the phone. It's just really nice to be able to trust that your baby will be taken care of to the best of their ability and that they really do treat you and your animal with respect and compassion. And yes treatment does cost money... That's part of owning a pet. Just as your medical bills will cost money, so will your pets medical bills. And from the information I've collected, the medical expenses could have been way higher for the same exact treatment she received so I did not think this visit was too much money to ask for to keep my puppy in good health! I'm very thankful for the veterinarian, vet techs and all of the other staff that has taken care of my puppy! Read Less

Update (2 to 1 star): Spent over 8 hours here today, spent a ton of money, and got no answers. The vets didn't want to stick around as long as we had to so we ended up dealing with a shift change. The new vet gave us some terrible run around answer of what the treatment protocol was. She then said no water or food until tomorrow, then said some water is ok. He hadn't eaten in 3 days so we felt terrible as he was searching everywhere for food. Read the release papers and they said to only hold off until this evening. Unbelievable place, do not go here.
We've been here for 6 hours so far to diagnose our dogs diarrhea. Although I appreciate being thorough, the wait is absurd with what you get charged. Seems to be 2 veterinarians to cover the entire place and the assistants don't do a thing to speed things up. We had to explain our story to at least 4 people and had to get an "estimate" for every instance. They know the options for testing, why not have an estimate for everything right away? I'd avoid unless you have a fat wallet and want to stare at the floor for the day.
I will say the staff is friendly and helpful. They just need better management and processes. Read Less

I took my ailing cat in to be examined last Thursday. The staff were more experienced at raising the credit limit for my Care Credit card than they were at figuring out what was wrong with my cat.
They ran a multitude of tests which emptied my pocket of approximately $1300.00 and as 'specialists', they STILL could not figure out what was wrong.
In the 24 hours that she was under their care, she was NOT seen by a specialist. It was a question of extending her stay, hence, the expenses before she could be seen by a 'specialist'.
When the medical reports and test results were sent to her original vets, they made MUCH more sense of the data and were able to come up with a much more effective plan to support her condition.
Medvet is more experienced with 'financing treatment' than it is applying treatment, and for a medical institution, that DISGUSTS me! Read Less

He took the time to explain the diagnosis, talk about the treatment plan, etc. He never seemed rushed, and truly appeared to love what he was doing. He called with follow up lab results like he said he would, took a call later in the evening when I called to check on my girl, and called with a follow up in the morning. Very professional and courteous staff made me feel like I was actually in the hospital providing my dog with the best possible care. With their help my dog Oscar beat cancer six years ago. We got back to see the vet in a relatively timely manner (it's at night, it's not going to be quick). Everyone was so friendly with Nero and treated him like their own pet. By the next day the swelling was gone and he was on the mend. Could not be happier with the entire experience. Yes, it's expensive, but worth it to get our puppy back to jumping around trying to chase rabbits and birds. Read Less

Overall, I appreciated their care and individual attention for me and my cat. Read Less

Awful they charged me over 1000 just for testing my dog and I didn't get any answers, this place is a racket! Long wait lines and they will charge you as much as they can. They also had so many vets and not one returned my call or showed much compassion everything was about the cost of the treatments. Took my dog to a local vet who cured him for less than 150 dollars and provided excellent customer service. Stay far far away if you care about the health of your pet and good service!! Read Less

My wife called these folks at noon on Tuesday 5/2/17, and our Veterinarian, Dr. Lutz has presumably also called them in an attempt to schedule a CAT Scan for our dog. Thus far they cannot be troubled to even call back, and we only get recordings; nobody live. However, these reviews seem pretty rational, and they do seem to reply to the reviews consistently....so I guess the best place to get a response from this fine organization is on the GOOGLE REVIEW BOARD! Call us please, Ferguson, Marietta, OH. THANKS! (I will update this review once we finally obtain services....at the moment "Neutral" is the best I can muster.) Read Less

Read Less

Went with my 11 year old Weimaraner for vomiting and bloody diarrhea. She was treated by Dr. Maurer who was not only timely and efficient but very kind and compassionate. He took the time to explain the diagnosis, talk about the treatment plan, etc. He never seemed rushed, and truly appeared to love what he was doing. He called with follow up lab results like he said he would, took a call later in the evening when I called to check on my girl, and called with a follow up in the morning. Always awful having to take your fur babies to the emergency vet but grateful for 24/7 access to good medical care if needed. Great overall experience! Thankful to have our girl home. Still sick but hopefully on the mend. Read Less

Very professional and courteous staff made me feel like I was actually in the hospital providing my dog with the best possible care. With their help my dog Oscar beat cancer six years ago. He just passed away December 21 from congestive heart failure. We were in the weekend before and did a bunch of tests. I know they did everything we could to save the best dog I ever had Oscar. When he passed in the middle of the night we were on our way back to med vet. They were so classy in facilitating our last few moments with Oscar. Today I went to pick up his ashes and they do so many extra things to go along with it that make them a step above anywhere else I've ever been. I highly recommend med vet.Read Less

We took our little kitty, Buddy, to MedVet last night when he suddenly lost the use of his back legs. We had no idea what the heck even happened. The staff at MedVet were so kind and compassionate. They took him back immediately when we arrived to try and stabilize him. The Veterinarian, Dr. Quigley (I think was his name), was so patient with us in explaining everything so we could make the best decision for Buddy. Although we lost our dear little Buddy last night, I don't think his last hours here on this earth could have been more dignified and peaceful. My husband and I are extremely grateful for the wonderful care our furry little guy received. Read Less

We drive 1 1/2 hours to bring our Mia to receive the best. She has been blessed to be in the care of Dr. Barnhart and Dr. Foss as well as the entire support staff at MedVet. It is without a doubt the most extraordinary facility as it has only the best interest for your pet in mind. I have never ever thought it to be about the cost. Mia continues to amaze us all, her love for life on this earth is contagious and her appreciation for the genuine care from MedVet is seen in her quick steps to get inside to check on everyone. For a dog that shouldn't be moving shows how miraculous this all is indeed. I would highly recommend this facility to any and everyone. God certainly led us there and we will be forever grateful. Go to OSU. They don't care about your pet, they're only worried about money. They also don't get results back in time. Also, their dermatologist are idiots. You would think someone who specializes in the skin of animals would know what skin cancer is. Charge you 600 for a skin biopsy, tell you it'll be back Wednesday, Wednesday comes they tell you no it won't be in til Friday. Friday comes and the dermatologist is out of state? Really. THEN after finding out our dog has malignant melanoma, they call you and try to sell you a bunch of very expensive options and treatments, for our 12 year old pup who is clearly dying. They do not care about us or our dog they just see it as more money. Read Less
