General Info
Veterinary Associates Animal Hospital in Xenia is a veterinary practice dedicated to ensuring pets throughout the community have access to high-quality comprehensive care. The clinic is located in Xenia, United States. The team provides comprehensive services from check-ups and wellness plans to specialized treatments tailored to each pet’s needs. Services often include Lameness Locator, Dental Radiographs, House Calls, Puppy and Kitten Care, Equine Care, Radiology (X-rays), Senior Pet Care. The treatments are performed with attention to detail, targeting both prevention and management. The clinic is well-equipped, and special attention is given to keep animals comfortable and relaxed during their visits. Pet owners frequently praise the way veterinarians and their assistants interact with pets, which helps establish trust and constant assistance pets need to stay healthy. Veterinary Associates Animal Hospital continues to proudly serve as a cornerstone of the Xenia pet-owning community and beyond. Whether it is to help young pets start life on the right foot or to support older animals in managing chronic health issues, the clinic’s professionals are always ready to help. Their desire to continue learning and implementing the latest research to better help animals is evident. This ensures that every pet receives the highest quality services and care. The practice focuses on promoting responsible pet ownership and community awareness. Veterinary Associates Animal Hospital in Xenia implements thorough medical approaches that consider the entire family unit by assisting both pets and families throughout Ohio. The first visits aim at comfort, where the pets can express themselves through basic exploration while observing their behavior. Prior to the physical examination, the veterinary personnel watch for body signals such as changes in eye movement, tail position, gait and posture, and how the animal responds to pressure. Medical tests include joint tracking, hydration analysis, weight monitoring, tone of gums and coat texture examination as well as thermal regulation patterns. Owners engage in the monitoring process through careful observation of morning routines, sleep cycles, vocal tendencies, and any recent behavioral deviations. Veterinary Associates Animal Hospital offers treatment plans which address acute issues, surgical care, seasonal health shifts, and any ongoing conditions. Support refers to laboratory testing and imaging referral, infection prevention, and senior animal protocols as well as practical implementation of emotionally informed recovery checklists. This is to ensure that the owner has all necessary information, but does not feel on overload. Especially when multiple pets are involved or more complex medical conditions. The essence of communication is the fundamental core. Every visit triggers a dispatch of the note and follow-ups are not set on the calendar but rather depend on how well the pet is adjusting. Pet owners are being taught how to identify subtle signs of regression but also progression to the next stage. Long-term care involves pacing choice-based scheduling and reassurance strategies. Veterinary Associates Animal Hospital uses family input and animal behavior to design a consistent plan regarding the pets’ well-being. The method of using both factors ensures that after considering all the aspects, a strategy is drawn and observed until the end in order to achieve a successful outcome. The services are available in Xenia as well as throughout Ohio.

1 star. TIP to protect your pet when coming here! Check before vaccines and medications are administered, to make sure they give your pet the right medication. My CAT was given a DOG vaccine tonight, by Veterinary Associates, Xenia. We waited over an hour to be seen. There was an emergency in another room, and I understood that. When it was our turn, we were rushed through. Our cat was not examined, only given a wrong vaccine, and then a dose of the correct vaccine. Mistakes happen, but the more I thought about it, this should NOT happen. They said my cat will be ok, I hope so! Our visit, maybe 4 minutes tops, a $95 bill, after the mistake, with an office fee removed. Will I come back? Yes, but I will be on guard next time! Update: Received Rabies tags in the mail last week, and a reminder yesterday, that my cat is overdue for what was already done. Today, they made this right, by crediting the exam fee as well. 3 stars for correcting. Thank you! Read Less

They came to our house when it was time for our 14 yr Akita to leave us. He was comfortable, and in his own home with his family around him. He left us peacefully. Then when our 15yr female recently fell in from cancer, the Dr's and staff were nothing less than amazing, and compassionate. Shedding tears along with us. We've always had the best care, the fact that we can take our dogs there after hours for an emergency instead of the emergency clinic is comforting. We started going to Veterinary Associates about 1 1/2 years ago. We had/have a senior dog whose feet looked like hamburger, due to her excessive chewing, licking and biting, in which a previous vet was unable to diagnosis. After a couple of sessions with VA, it was identified that she had an allergy to the food she had been on for a majority of her life. We changed her diet, started her on laser treatments to heal her feel/paws and after about 6 months of treatment, her feet/paws starting looking spectacular - completely healed. In her earlier years, she underwent 2 ACL surgeries and now arthritis has started to set in. We are now focusing the laser treatments on her knees, back lumbar area and front legs. Our, almost 14 year old girl, is acting as if she is half her age. I cannot say enough wonderful things about VA and the quality of life they have brought back to my girl through the laser treatments and their outstanding attention to diagnosing treatment. We had the best experience here. Our cat had a terrible UTI and was very close to dying and they were able to save him. Their prices were so reasonable, compared to any emergency vet we were considering to take him to. They took the time to explain everything in detail and call us everyday to tell us how he was doing. It is about 30 minutes from our home, but I am 100% willing to make the trip to take my animals back there. They were so kind to us and so caring and wanted the best for us and were not looking to rip us off. I am so thankful for all of the staff for everything they did because I don't know what I would without him. I would advise anyone considering using this veterinary business to do your homework before taking your pet to them. First, check rates. I found that their fees (both services and products) are 33% to 66% higher than most other veterinary hospitals. I have taken my cat to some top veterinarians and top hospitals (for example, Ft. Collins, CO Veterinary University Hospital as well as some wonderful local Veterinarians in Ohio ) and I have never been so grossly over-charged. I would not have known that I was over-charged if I hadn't had to take her to a specialist in Centerville, OH the day after my visit to Veterinary Associates. The bill from my visit with the specialist was one-third the cost and the services were similar -- certainly enough to compare expenses. Neither visit to these two veterinarians was an off-hours emergency visit. I can't speak to quality of Veterinary Associates because I used them only once. I did feel that treatment was a little aggressive -- they wanted to hospitalize my cat for four days (I declined). She was given medicine and released to me after being there for several hours. I was shocked by the bill for the services as it was significantly higher than what we discussed. When I asked about this, I received a half-hearted apology with the explanation that they ""forgot to quote the price for certain services."" I called the veterinarian and spoke with the receptionist and asked to talk with someone regarding their prices. She stated that I would need to address this issue with the office manager and offered to take a message and have her return my call. To date, I still have not received a return call. I called again and asked for the name of the manager and owner of this business and the receptionist refused to provide this claiming that she is not allowed to give out this information. This, of course, makes it impossible for me to address my concerns to the appropriate management. Best of luck with the care of your animal. Read Less

We just moved to the area and didn't know where to begin looking for a new Vet. I did some research online, asked my previous Vet and a couple of my fellow Realtor friends and horse people for recommendations. The majority suggested Veterinary Associates in Xenia. Their website is easy to navigate and very informative. They offer many alternatives to traditional veterinary services and their pricing is reasonable. Good doctors and friendly staff! We made the right choice. Read Less

Read Less
