We recently adopted two handsome cats, Max and Landon, from Horizon. Everyone cares so much about their family (the animals they care for.) It's clear from the moment you walk in and especially when you've found a new member to add to your family. You can see the bond between them. Oh My God, I wish there were more stars to give. I have been taking Lily to Dr. Cari since I adopted her in November, 2006. Years ago, Dr. Cari moved out to Bixby, and it's a huge pain in the ass to take Lily out there for her monthly Adequan shots, especially when there are half a dozen vets withing a half-mile of me, but I never for a second considered making a change. I've been a dog owner all of my adult life. I've had experience with a number of vets; most good, some bad, one a tragedy. I've always tried to be very cautious and conscientious when choosing a vet for Lily, and I would STRONGLY recommend anyone else do the same. As careful as I am in choosing a health care provider for Lily, I've never before seen a vet with the anywhere near mix of incredible skill, compassionate care, integrity, and love my Lily gets from Dr. Cari, and her entire staff. I recently had to undergo knee surgery and since I didn't have anyone to take care of me at home, I came to stay with my grandparents in Bixby. I brought my little Chihuahua with me and started noticing that she was scratching like CRAZY, and her left eye was weapy. She was acting extra clingy, so I knew something was wrong. I googled Vet clinics in the area and came across Horizon. They had a lot of great reviews and I had a good feeling in my gut, so we scheduled the appointment and got straight in. Our experience was outstanding. The staff and the doctor were compassionate, attentive, and very professional. You could feel that they genuinely care for animals, and the staff has such a good charisma! I could go on and on about how fantastic this office is. I can't express the amount of gratitude I feel for Dr Cari and her staff. I brought up a special needs dog by the name of Coaltrain. My rural vet said that I should put him down because they suspected he had liver or heart trouble. I couldn't do that without finding out for sure what was wrong and if he could be fixed. We have four (4) rescue dogs and three (3) rescued cats that Dr. Cari and her wonderful staff treat. We LOVE Horizon Animal Hospital in Bixby! They also have treated our foster dogs too. Dr. Cari and her staff have treated a broken leg, heart worms etc. You name it. They are always extremely reasonable on their prices and we can keep everyone healthy without breaking the bank. The review that talks about smell etc. Get over yourself! It is a vet office and they also run a rescue. An AMAZING office that really cares about animals. A SUPER SMART Doc that figured out something with one of my pets, when I first started seeing her years ago, that another vet totally missed. SO THANKFUL for Horizon and the wonderful work they do for their patients, for rescue, and the community in Bixby. Really can't say enough good things. We have been going to Horizons Animal Hospital for the past 4 years. We was going to your pet hospital and we was not really please. We found Dr Cari McDonald and we are so happy with her. Our dog loves going in there. He has had some pretty good things going on with him and she has figured them out for us where no one else would even try. They have two exam areas in there and they keep it very clean.we are not afraid to go in there. We feel like we are all family and she know her clients. It is a great learning place. We Love it there while the animal is being treated there are other animus that you can visit with. There is Buttercup the pig that love to be feed apples and carrots. Then outside you have goats, chickens and ducks you can visit. I feel like we owe her so much I go out to see if they need anything. On weekends my niece and I go help clean and get ready for the next week to start. Dr Cari has a great staff that helps her and they are very friendly. She is the very first vet that I have meet that if an animal is hit by by a car or hurt in anyway she is there to fix it up And does not turn you down because you do not have all your money at once. She is very caring and we all love her so much.so if you are looking for a great place to bring your fur babies come to Horizons Animal Hospital.
