Dear Good Shepherd Veterinary Hospital,
How do you run xrays on a feared intestinal blockage, with excessive vomiting of bile, low energy, zero appetite, no bowel movements, water only driven animal ... only to clear him of an obstruction per the xrays. But then assume it's just gastroenteritis, inject anti nausea meds, and send him home with pro/pre biotics?
NO BLOODWORK
NO FURTHER TESTING
HOW?!
How do you return my call of concern the next day and say, "Just call on Monday and I'll prescribe Omeprazole(heartburn relief)." Because I've said he's still spitting up bile, won't eat, only wants water, and still hasn't had a bowel movement?

How does your head nurse call me the following day after ANOTHER call of concern and tell me, "Those probiotics have an anti diarrhial in them so that's probably why he's not going poop." Even though he's still not interested in food, only water seeking, lethargic, and spitting up bile? "Just schedule a follow up appointment on Monday." She said.

HOW?!
How do we attend this follow up, FINALLY have blood work done - wherein your machine malfunctions and his red blood cell count is so high that the blood's serum isn't adequate enough to give a reading ... so you poke him again and get more blood. But your machine STILL malfunctions and you can't get all of his readings. So, you poke him AGAIN so you can send off the blood to the lab. But, THEN you tell us that based off the information you DO have, his creatinine levels are high and he's "probably in kidney failure. We'll know more tomorrow morning when his complete bloodwork comes back."
HOW?!
You gave us little to no answers on what this means other than, "There's just not a lot we can do about that." WE had to ask you to give him fluids because you said that would only help temporarily and if we wanted fluids via IV? We'd have to "go to an emergency 24 hour vet because we're closing soon and he won't be monitored overnight here." No direction. No instruction. No help.
HOW?!
We walked out of your facility feeling completely gutted and hopeless. And if it weren't for my childhood best friend, Ashley Ito who has years of Veterinary technician experience under her belt, who outright told me to get him somewhere where he could get immediate IV fluids, we'd be on the floor at home crying and trying to prepare ourselves to lose a lifeline for Jesse; his service animal.
I am appalled at your lack of care, concern, sympathy, and direction. I cannot believe the treatment (and lack thereof) we received from your clinic. WE SPENT $700 AT YOUR CLINIC! FOR WHAT?! You should be ASHAMED of yourself.
We are now sitting at an Urgent Care Veterinary Clinic with people who actual want to help us give Dank the best quality of life for however long he can be here.
He deserved better than what you provided. And I'll be CERTAIN to share this experience with as many as I can to ensure NO ONE ever has to go through this like we did.

The staff members are nice and the doctors are kind. I did have a bad experience one time. They wanted to hold my cat for a couple hours to get a good urine sample. I asked if I should stay and they recommended I could leave instead. I ended up getting a call later saying she needed to be sedated because she became to out of control and I was going to be charged for that. I didnt preferably like being charged for the sedation or hearing about my cats anxiety of the situation. Other than that, roughly very positive experiences. Its the only place I would trust handling my cat's care currently.

Dr. Long? Where do I begin. This man has been there for our family 24/7. As a adived waterfowl hunter I had 2 Labradors retrievers. I have had some emergency medical help for one of my dogs on a couple of occasions and Dr. Long has came to my house to treat our boy Mike. Another time when he hurt his back and hips from a hunting accident. I was a hour and half away from home call Dr Long. He told me what to do and met me on a cold Sunday afternoon at the clinic to treat Mike. Not only is he an outstanding get. But his staff is equally attentive to our other dogs needs. He truly is a good Shepard to our families pets. May God continue to bless this man and staff as they continue to heel or beloved pets.

Relocated to Broken Arrow......BOUSE FUR HOUSE, doggy day care recommended Good Shepherd Vet Clinic.I am extremely happy with everyone I have encountered there. From the veterinarians to the front desk staff....everyone has been friendly, professional, knowledgeable, caring and very helpful with anything I might need or questions that I ask. The building is very CLEAN, does NOT have an odor. The "waiting area" is very comfortable and well thought out with leather sofas, flat screen tv......parking is ample. It is easy to get in and out of. (Excellent location) and most important-Max, my lab is very comfortable there. They also have complimentary "dog treats" at the front desk.

I've been taking my Lab there for around 2 years. At first they genuinely seemed to care. Now though, I go almost for the same thing (allergies, or gas in intestines) and they keep doing the same thing. It's like they don't look at the medical history of my dog that ice had with them. They don't offer allergy tests, they tell you about a "specialist" that costs you a lot of money. I've never had trouble with their services they do provide though. My buddy was neutered there and they were definitely a great place to take him. Their care is exceptional, but it's just exceptional if it for the "ordinary things" that get offices do. Other than that I keep getting antibiotics for infections that are caused by an allergy which they never seem to care to find the underlying problem. That's the only issue I have is the lack of investigation they have. My lab has been suffering from the same thing over and over for 2 years, but they never seem to look at that he has been there for 2 years with the same issue. And no allergy tests done there? Really? It's supposed to be an "animal hospital," they should be able to do that.

They did an excellent job. They said to go to our vet on Monday to get his dressings chanrged. My wife called when they opened on Monday and they said bring him in and leave him. They would get to him sometime!! I think it would've been more important than a dog that just needs his nails clipprd. He is in pain and I will not leave him in a cage for hours. Very disappointed with them and their services!! Dr. Long just called me and told me that the receptionist didn't communicate the information about bringing my dog in properly. They would have seen him immediately when we brought him in. I appreciate the quick manner in responding to this matter. They are loving and caring vets!! He said bring him right now!! They wanted to see him and make sure everything was okay at no charge!! They were very apologetic about the miscommunication of how he would been seen. I highly recommend them!!

We took our 3 month old GSD, Cadence, to Good Shepherd when she started showing symptoms of GI distress. It turned out that the diagnosis was Parvovirus. I know how deadly that can be, so I was very worried. The team at Good Shepherd took her in very quickly and got her on a treatment regimen. Dr. Wulf came in several times during her days off to take care of her and call us with updates. The compassion she showed and the above and beyond attention to Cadence's needs was amazing. Cady is now back at home and is happy and full of energy. The only ones not happy about that are our cats. Thank you all at Good Shepherd!

We have used Good Shepherd for boarding our pups for quite some time. They have always treated our babies well and didn't seem to mind when I would call to check on them (we won't say how often lol). This Christmas, as with most families, we planned to go out of town and made our reservations for boarding. A family emergency arose a few days before we were supposed to leave and we needed to leave immediately. I called and they took our babies two days early. While we were gone we had a death in the family and had to be gone longer than expected. The staff here were so sweet and wonderful. I called in tears more than once and every time they told me not to worry that our sweet pups would be just fine and for me not to worry. I can not begin to tell you how thankful we are to them all. Such a wonderful and compassionate team! You are truly the best and made a sad sad time a bit easier to bare. Thank you so much - Lisa, Mike and Anna-Farrell Mills (also Sadie Mae, Barnaby and Lily)

We love Good Shepard Vet! They have taken such great care of our English mastiff fur baby! We have been taking her there since we got her as a 6 week old puppy and the clinic has been great about her shots, reminders on what we need to do next (without unnecessary expense), and even getting her spayed a few weeks ago. They always call to check on her the day after they see her, which means so much and goes a long way. The facility is very nice and clean and the staff are amazing.

They Took my dog to the back and then brought him back we then waited 20 minutes for them to come back and try to sell me all these shots because they requested his vet records and he didn't have these shots. They then said he had an ear infection and needed surgery and they did a swab test on him. All without my knowledge or permission. I've never had a vet examine my dog not in my presence. I also felt they left me waiting so they could try to up sell me on shots. Unless I see it all I know hey took him to the back. Googled swollen ear and made stuff up.

I'm not sure how we got connected to Good Shepherd. My husband found them last year when we needed some grooming done. This year, our beloved cat started drinking significantly more and urinating a whole lot more. They got us in, and tested him for Diabetes. He was diagnosed late Friday night and Saturday morning the technician gave us a thorough explanation and demonstration of what we need to do. They were kind and understanding. What's more -- Twitch hates strangers and he seemed to instinctively know that these people are working for him. They made a difficult situation a bit easier to bear.

If you are looking for Veterinary care this is the best, most caring, and reasonably priced place you could think of bringing in your fur baby. They go out of their way to make sure you are informed and comfortable during any visit or phone call. We had to put our fur baby down a month ago and all the staff signed and mailed a sympathy card to us. We just got a new puppy and will never take him to any other place. Only here to see Dr. Wulf. Love this place!

Recently my dog of 16 years consumed sugar free gum, as it turns out this could be deadly for my dog. Dr. Long and staff took excellent care of my dog, they were very helpful, understanding and compassionate. You can find a VET in the yellow pages, but if you want a Veterinary Clinic that is companionate, and truly has a vested interest in the care of your beloved four legged friend.. LOOK no further this is your Clinic. Highly recommend them!

Another visit, Pet had a skin disorder, assistant said they would shave the 4" square area, charged us $25.00 to shave the area. Medicated shampoo $60.00. We had a $150.00 bill for a single visit to shave the dog and leave with shampoo? Insane.

I have had nothing but positive experiences with Good Shepherd! Even when losing a pet, they go out of their way to accommodate and soothe the owners and the pain they are experiencing. I cannot say enough about the greatness each employee exudes, and the wealth of knowledge they all possess! As if that is not enough, they care more about their patients than the money, and will work with you when obstacles pop up. I can honestly and happily say I will never take my rats or any other pets to anyone else so long as I live here! You guys have my greatest respect and gratitude. Thank you so much!

I take all 3 of my pets here, and I can't say enough good things about the excellent care my babies receive! From the sweet receptionists, to the vets, Dr. Long & Dr. Vickers, my experiences here have always been wonderful! I've never been made to feel like a nuisance, or rushed by any of the staff, and my babies are always treated with much love and attention, as if they are the only ones in the clinic. I appreciate The Good Shepard vets, and, as long as they remain in business, I will NEVER take my pets anywhere else. The individual care and attention they provide makes all the difference...great "bedside manner".

We have started boarding or high needs dog there for week long trips and she always comes home healthy, clean, and very happy. She actually gets excited to go there! So grateful to have found this wonderful veterinary clinic right in our neighborhood!!

I had the pleasure of meeting the very compassionate and competent staff at Good Shepherd recently. I had sweet cat that was my best friend for 10 years and he was diagnosed with end-stage Chronic Kidney Failure. I had to say goodbye to my friend due to his terminal condition. Dr Vickers, Dr Long and their entire staff were so helpful and compassionate. The staff made a special phone call to see how I was doing after my sweet boy was put to sleep. This is truly a place enveloped with compassion and kindness. I would recommend Good Shepherd to anyone who needs professional, compassionate and honest care for your pets.

I wouldn't trust them with another Vet!They are so understanding. They won't push things unless they are really needed. He helped me find a pet sitter after a very bad experience at a doggie day care! He really is the BEST!!!They are far from us now, but worth the extra distance! I wouldn't trust my babies with any other Vet!!!Great staff, great doctor, clean and classy place!

His staff is friendly and i can usually get an appointment fairly quick. I also like that Dr. long answers his email! I've also had Dr. Long put a pet to sleep. He is so caring and walks you through it gently and with respect.

Dear Good Shepherd Veterinary Hospital,
How do you run xrays on a feared intestinal blockage, with excessive vomiting of bile, low energy, zero appetite, no bowel movements, water only driven animal ... only to clear him of an obstruction per the xrays. But then assume it's just gastroenteritis, inject anti nausea meds, and send him home with pro/pre biotics?
NO BLOODWORK
NO FURTHER TESTING
HOW?!
How do you return my call of concern the next day and say, "Just call on Monday and I'll prescribe Omeprazole(heartburn relief)." Because I've said he's still spitting up bile, won't eat, only wants water, and still hasn't had a bowel movement?
ZERO CONCERN

How does your head nurse call me the following day after ANOTHER call of concern and tell me, "Those probiotics have an anti diarrhial in them so that's probably why he's not going poop." Even though he's still not interested in food, only water seeking, lethargic, and spitting up bile? "Just schedule a follow up appointment on Monday." She said.
ZERO CONCERN
HOW?!
How do we attend this follow up, FINALLY have blood work done - wherein your machine malfunctions and his red blood cell count is so high that the blood's serum isn't adequate enough to give a reading ... so you poke him again and get more blood. But your machine STILL malfunctions and you can't get all of his readings. So, you poke him AGAIN so you can send off the blood to the lab. But, THEN you tell us that based off the information you DO have, his creatinine levels are high and he's "probably in kidney failure. We'll know more tomorrow morning when his complete bloodwork comes back."
HOW?!
You gave us little to no answers on what this means other than, "There's just not a lot we can do about that." WE had to ask you to give him fluids because you said that would only help temporarily and if we wanted fluids via IV? We'd have to "go to an emergency 24 hour vet because we're closing soon and he won't be monitored overnight here." No direction. No instruction. No help.
HOW?!
We walked out of your facility feeling completely gutted and hopeless. And if it weren't for my childhood best friend, Ashley Ito who has years of Veterinary technician experience under her belt, who outright told me to get him somewhere where he could get immediate IV fluids, we'd be on the floor at home crying and trying to prepare ourselves to lose a lifeline for Jesse; his service animal.
I am appalled at your lack of care, concern, sympathy, and direction. I cannot believe the treatment (and lack thereof) we received from your clinic. WE SPENT $700 AT YOUR CLINIC! FOR WHAT?! You should be ASHAMED of yourself.
We are now sitting at an Urgent Care Veterinary Clinic with people who actual want to help us give Dank the best quality of life for however long he can be here.
He deserved better than what you provided. And I'll be CERTAIN to share this experience with as many as I can to ensure NO ONE ever has to go through this like we did.

The staff members are nice and the doctors are kind. I did have a bad experience one time. They wanted to hold my cat for a couple hours to get a good urine sample. I asked if I should stay and they recommended I could leave instead. I ended up getting a call later saying she needed to be sedated because she became to out of control and I was going to be charged for that. I didnt preferably like being charged for the sedation or hearing about my cats anxiety of the situation. Other than that, roughly very positive experiences. Its the only place I would trust handling my cat's care currently.

Dr. Long? Where do I begin. This man has been there for our family 24/7. As a adived waterfowl hunter I had 2 Labradors retrievers. I have had some emergency medical help for one of my dogs on a couple of occasions and Dr. Long has came to my house to treat our boy Mike. Another time when he hurt his back and hips from a hunting accident. I was a hour and half away from home call Dr Long. He told me what to do and met me on a cold Sunday afternoon at the clinic to treat Mike. Not only is he an outstanding get. But his staff is equally attentive to our other dogs needs. He truly is a good Shepard to our families pets. May God continue to bless this man and staff as they continue to heel or beloved pets.

Relocated to Broken Arrow......BOUSE FUR HOUSE, doggy day care recommended Good Shepherd Vet Clinic.I am extremely happy with everyone I have encountered there. From the veterinarians to the front desk staff....everyone has been friendly, professional, knowledgeable, caring and very helpful with anything I might need or questions that I ask. The building is very CLEAN, does NOT have an odor. The "waiting area" is very comfortable and well thought out with leather sofas, flat screen tv......parking is ample. It is easy to get in and out of. (Excellent location) and most important-Max, my lab is very comfortable there. They also have complimentary "dog treats" at the front desk.

I've been taking my Lab there for around 2 years. At first they genuinely seemed to care. Now though, I go almost for the same thing (allergies, or gas in intestines) and they keep doing the same thing. It's like they don't look at the medical history of my dog that ice had with them. They don't offer allergy tests, they tell you about a "specialist" that costs you a lot of money. I've never had trouble with their services they do provide though. My buddy was neutered there and they were definitely a great place to take him. Their care is exceptional, but it's just exceptional if it for the "ordinary things" that get offices do. Other than that I keep getting antibiotics for infections that are caused by an allergy which they never seem to care to find the underlying problem. That's the only issue I have is the lack of investigation they have. My lab has been suffering from the same thing over and over for 2 years, but they never seem to look at that he has been there for 2 years with the same issue. And no allergy tests done there? Really? It's supposed to be an "animal hospital," they should be able to do that.

I have been a customer of good shepherd since moving here in 2013 usually they are very caring. My dog was attacked by a coyote Friday night and we took him to the er that good shepherd recommended. They did an excellent job. They said to go to our vet on Monday to get his dressings chanrged. My wife called when they opened on Monday and they said bring him in and leave him. They would get to him sometime!! I think it would've been more important than a dog that just needs his nails clipprd. He is in pain and I will not leave him in a cage for hours. Very disappointed with them and their services!! Dr. Long just called me and told me that the receptionist didn't communicate the information about bringing my dog in properly. They would have seen him immediately when we brought him in. I appreciate the quick manner in responding to this matter. They are loving and caring vets!! He said bring him right now!! They wanted to see him and make sure everything was okay at no charge!! They were very apologetic about the miscommunication of how he would been seen. I highly recommend them!!

We took our 3 month old GSD, Cadence, to Good Shepherd when she started showing symptoms of GI distress. It turned out that the diagnosis was Parvovirus. I know how deadly that can be, so I was very worried. The team at Good Shepherd took her in very quickly and got her on a treatment regimen. Dr. Wulf came in several times during her days off to take care of her and call us with updates. The compassion she showed and the above and beyond attention to Cadence's needs was amazing. Cady is now back at home and is happy and full of energy. The only ones not happy about that are our cats. Thank you all at Good Shepherd!

We have used Good Shepherd for boarding our pups for quite some time. They have always treated our babies well and didn't seem to mind when I would call to check on them (we won't say how often lol). This Christmas, as with most families, we planned to go out of town and made our reservations for boarding. A family emergency arose a few days before we were supposed to leave and we needed to leave immediately. I called and they took our babies two days early. While we were gone we had a death in the family and had to be gone longer than expected. The staff here were so sweet and wonderful. I called in tears more than once and every time they told me not to worry that our sweet pups would be just fine and for me not to worry. I can not begin to tell you how thankful we are to them all. Such a wonderful and compassionate team! You are truly the best and made a sad sad time a bit easier to bare. Thank you so much - Lisa, Mike and Anna-Farrell Mills (also Sadie Mae, Barnaby and Lily)

We love Good Shepard Vet! They have taken such great care of our English mastiff fur baby! We have been taking her there since we got her as a 6 week old puppy and the clinic has been great about her shots, reminders on what we need to do next (without unnecessary expense), and even getting her spayed a few weeks ago. They always call to check on her the day after they see her, which means so much and goes a long way. The facility is very nice and clean and the staff are amazing.

They handled a situation when our baby husky swallowed a 3" thick headband, they have done shots with our nervous cat, and they are MORE than affordable for vaccines and other procedures! They Took my dog to the back and then brought him back we then waited 20 minutes for them to come back and try to sell me all these shots because they requested his vet records and he didn't have these shots. They then said he had an ear infection and needed surgery and they did a swab test on him. All without my knowledge or permission. I've never had a vet examine my dog not in my presence. I also felt they left me waiting so they could try to up sell me on shots. Unless I see it all I know hey took him to the back. Googled swollen ear and made stuff up.

I'm not sure how we got connected to Good Shepherd. My husband found them last year when we needed some grooming done. This year, our beloved cat started drinking significantly more and urinating a whole lot more. They got us in, and tested him for Diabetes. He was diagnosed late Friday night and Saturday morning the technician gave us a thorough explanation and demonstration of what we need to do. They were kind and understanding. What's more -- Twitch hates strangers and he seemed to instinctively know that these people are working for him. They made a difficult situation a bit easier to bear.

If you are looking for Veterinary care this is the best, most caring, and reasonably priced place you could think of bringing in your fur baby. They go out of their way to make sure you are informed and comfortable during any visit or phone call. We had to put our fur baby down a month ago and all the staff signed and mailed a sympathy card to us. We just got a new puppy and will never take him to any other place. Only here to see Dr. Wulf. Love this place!

Recently my dog of 16 years consumed sugar free gum, as it turns out this could be deadly for my dog. Dr. Long and staff took excellent care of my dog, they were very helpful, understanding and compassionate. You can find a VET in the yellow pages, but if you want a Veterinary Clinic that is companionate, and truly has a vested interest in the care of your beloved four legged friend.. LOOK no further this is your Clinic. Highly recommend them!

Another visit, Pet had a skin disorder, assistant said they would shave the 4" square area, charged us $25.00 to shave the area. Medicated shampoo $60.00. We had a $150.00 bill for a single visit to shave the dog and leave with shampoo? Insane.

I have had nothing but positive experiences with Good Shepherd! Even when losing a pet, they go out of their way to accommodate and soothe the owners and the pain they are experiencing. I cannot say enough about the greatness each employee exudes, and the wealth of knowledge they all possess! As if that is not enough, they care more about their patients than the money, and will work with you when obstacles pop up. I can honestly and happily say I will never take my rats or any other pets to anyone else so long as I live here! You guys have my greatest respect and gratitude. Thank you so much!

I take all 3 of my pets here, and I can't say enough good things about the excellent care my babies receive! From the sweet receptionists, to the vets, Dr. Long & Dr. Vickers, my experiences here have always been wonderful! I've never been made to feel like a nuisance, or rushed by any of the staff, and my babies are always treated with much love and attention, as if they are the only ones in the clinic. I appreciate The Good Shepard vets, and, as long as they remain in business, I will NEVER take my pets anywhere else. The individual care and attention they provide makes all the difference...great "bedside manner".

We have started boarding or high needs dog there for week long trips and she always comes home healthy, clean, and very happy. She actually gets excited to go there! So grateful to have found this wonderful veterinary clinic right in our neighborhood!!

I had the pleasure of meeting the very compassionate and competent staff at Good Shepherd recently. I had sweet cat that was my best friend for 10 years and he was diagnosed with end-stage Chronic Kidney Failure. I had to say goodbye to my friend due to his terminal condition. Dr Vickers, Dr Long and their entire staff were so helpful and compassionate. The staff made a special phone call to see how I was doing after my sweet boy was put to sleep. This is truly a place enveloped with compassion and kindness. I would recommend Good Shepherd to anyone who needs professional, compassionate and honest care for your pets.

I wouldn't trust them with another Vet!They are so understanding. They won't push things unless they are really needed. He helped me find a pet sitter after a very bad experience at a doggie day care! He really is the BEST!!!They are far from us now, but worth the extra distance! I wouldn't trust my babies with any other Vet!!!Great staff, great doctor, clean and classy place!

Dr Long is my vet and has been since he opened. He is a teaching vet and takes time to explain all procedures and treatment options. He offers boarding and grooming as well. His staff is friendly and i can usually get an appointment fairly quick. I also like that Dr. long answers his email! I've also had Dr. Long put a pet to sleep. He is so caring and walks you through it gently and with respect.
