We just moved here and I know no one. I searched for a vet and called Equine Medical. Both ladies I spoke with on the phone were very nice and made me feel less anxious.

We just moved here and I know no one. I searched for a vet and called Equine Medical. Both ladies I spoke with on the phone were very nice and made me feel less anxious.
Dr. Owen came out to see my 30+ yo mule and was so kind. She diagnosed my Rosie with arthritis, helped me with a regimen to follow, and told me to call in a few days to give her an update.
When I called a few days later she remembered me and took the time to discuss a plan with me. I can't thank her enough for the kindness, patience, and care she had for an old mule and her distraught owner.
I need look no further. I have found my vet!

I own a breeding farm. I have used most every veterinarian in the OKC metro, including OSU large animal for broodmare/foal/young horse issues. EMA is the only clinic in the metro that has gotten it right the first time. In my experience, EMA is for the equine professional who's livelihood depends on the correct diagnosis and treatment.

We took a tour of EMA with our Vet Tech class on Wed March 5th,14. It was amazing! Dr. Grace Owen did a wonderful job with the tour. Then after calling another vet after being concerned with my mare...
We took a tour of EMA with our Vet Tech class on Wed March 5th,14. It was amazing! Dr. Grace Owen did a wonderful job with the tour. Then after calling another vet after being concerned with my mare who choked on me yesterday (which I helped her through but about 40 mins later she had some hiccupping and gurgling sounds going on) and them telling me what I already know (watch how I feed her keep a eye on her when she eats ect) I decided to call EMA if for nothing else to ask if this was normal. After all my dogs both hiccup and snore. I've never heard a horse hiccup though in my 9 yrs of being around them and 3 dealing with a mare that chokes. Dr. Grace Owen was more than happy to come out and help me. She thought it was important to go ahead and at least see if the choke had passed. It pretty much did but she still had a little. So, not only was I impressed with the tour and actually seeing what a equine hospital looks like and how they function there, but with her willing to come out and be sure my mare was fine!! I think I have found a new vet. I will for sure use her again!! =)

We just moved here and I know no one. I searched for a vet and called Equine Medical. Both ladies I spoke with on the phone were very nice and made me feel less anxious.
