We had a horrible experience. We took our struggling 15 y/o dog in to see if we could get her some help and the vet was pretty aggressive about pushing surgeries and procedures that would be over several thousand dollars and not focused on why we were there. When we said we didn't want to rush into that without really understanding if it was going to extend her life or if it could jeopardize the time she has left, she went into lecturing us acting like we came in to euthanize our dog. She didn't have much tact and it really came across as all she wanted was money. We walked away completely disappointed with the practice and went somewhere else that actually treated our dog and she is actually doing much better. Everyone is very kind and compassionate. The care is excellent. You are given options and if you're not able or want to do all that can be done, you will still receive the best care. Our 13 y/o White German Shepherd had been going downhill for awhile and we finally, suddenly made the decision to put her out of her misery. To our surprise, there is a chapel in the office where you can sit with your friend until you're ready to have done what needs to be done. So much conce...rn and care for all of us (brought our 4 y/o Schnauzer with us) during this awful time and afterwards. I've shared this information with friends and many of them took contact information for Family Pet Hospital, just because of the end-of-life care. Both of our dogs have received care here for years. You will not find a better vet clinic. All the staff are wonderful and always make each pet and pet parent feel special. When we lost our first dog the entire staff went above and beyond to offer encouragement and sympathy. We have seen all of the veterinarians and all are kind, respectful and knowledgeable. I have a Pomeranian and a mini schnauzer. Both of my babies love coming here!! The staff is so knowledgeable, friendly, and they all understand that schnauzers are loud by nature (which is true, and they are loud when they are excited-very loud). Prices are reasonable, and I feel like the staff has opened a lot of doors to meds that I didn't know about before, which had been incredible (6 month heartworm shot, 3 month flea/tick pill--YES!! We love Family Pet Hospital. They are caring and compassionate in addition to being on the leading edge of veterinary medicine, so the animals get not only the best care but also modern treatments and diagnostics. We've seen Dr Casey for about 7 years and she is amazing with my dogs and cats. I also really like the new doctor who we have seen a couple of times. We don't see Dr Bray as often, but last year she got my cat through a serious illness over a weekend (using home treatment) so we didn't end up at the emergency vet, which I am very grateful for. This is the most wonderful vet office. Dr. Bray and her staff are caring, compassionate, friendly and took the best at care of our Rockee. Dr. Bray and Dr. Casey are great! SO thorough and SO nice! My two dogs love going to see them!The hospital itself is super cute, very clean and welcoming. The wait is never long for both getting into the rooms and seeing the doctors. Nancy at the front desk is SOOOO nice and the technicians have always been very sweet to my pups and quick with getting their vitals for the doctor. I didn't care for the other front desk staff girl I've encountered a few times, she's nice enough, just didn't seem to fit with the rest of the warm and welcoming crowd here.Both Dr. Bray and Dr. Casey are extremely thorough when it comes to the dog's physical exams, bloodwork, ect. They've both pointed out their opinions to me in areas that some doctors just brush off or breeze right over. I say that from my experience with working at several different animals hospitals over the course of 8+ years. I appreciate their attentiveness to details because I would MUCH rather invest in preventative medicine rather than waiting until something becomes a problem.I brought my dogs here due to the good reviews here on yelp and I will continue bringing them to Dr. Bray & Dr. Casey based on my excellent experience with them!!! Amazing service and at a great price. The staff and doctors are really nice, knowledgeable and straight forward. I brought my cat Z in twice, once for his first set of vaccines and again for his boosters. Both times I was greeted by friendly staff, they trimmed Z's claws, and did a full checkup. They also sent him home with a fresh application of flee, tick and heartworm medicine, a new toy, and a clever fold up carrier. I receive the same outstanding service each and every time I bring my pets into the office and they always take time to make each pet feel special.From getting a new pet to having to make the decision to euthanize, Dr Bray is honest, caring and very compassionate in sharing your options. She doesn't push unnecessary testing or treatment. She gives you the information to make a informed decision. My pets are my children, so I am very aggressive in my treatment options, but Dr. Bray always lets me know how this could affect quality of life vs more time. After visiting 2 previous vet offices, I was recommended and subsequently ended up at Family Pet Hospital. My complaint about the other vets were that they treated my dog as some substandard species. They would drag and force her to accept the treatment given with obvious irritation of her nerves. When I came to Family Pet Hospital, they treated my Roxie like a member of our 'pack'. They seemed to understand that she is a valued member of our family. They gave her treats and toys. They spoke to her with a sweet and upbeat voice to help calm her nerves. We have been going there for 4 years now. Every yearly check up, shot, and the few emergency visits the treatment of my Roxie was outstanding! They have never treated her harshly or with a voice of irritation. They are gentle and understanding treating her with the respect and dignity she should be treated with. To make the service even better, they have always called and followed up the next day and again a few days later to see how she is doing. My own human doctors don't even do that for me. They will amke you feel gulity if you have to put your pet down no matter how sick your pet is and they seem to only care about runing up expensive test and when you do not comply because you fell they are not necessary they imply you are a bad pet parent all they care about is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.
