Wonderful staff and clinic. I brought my fourteen year old cat here yesterday for an abcess rupture. Had both my young children with me and no other adult. When my eight year old didn't want to be in the room for his buddy's potentially painful exam, the receptionist was happy to let him sit out front with her. This is by far the BEST vet experience I have EVER had. I had dogs my whole life until about 7 years ago. So I speak from experience. Past vet experiences felt more like a transaction. Not here. This was an EXPERIENCE. We got a brittany puppy for our family. We needed to get him established. We chose Sunset based on rave reviews from our friends. Dr. Grimmet took an incredible amount of time with us giving me valuable information. She was insightful, passionate, and knowledgeable. Dr. Grimmet gave us great resources and ideas for training and entertaining our dog. She included my son in the experience in a way I have never seen before. Exceptional care by excellent veterinarians! One of my dogs had a bum leg and Dr. Grimmett wasn't satisfied when the tests showed nothing wrong. She referred us on to a specialist where we received bad news about our beloved PePe. Dr. Grimmett and Dr. Kennemer were with us every step of the way. They were never too busy for advice on treatment or increasing pain medicine during his final days. All the staff were so kind and compassionate when we made the difficult decision to put him to sleep--and they made the experience as caring as possible. We needed a new vet clinic after 40+ years with the same vet. I would ask around to get various recommendations. I went to visit Sunset Veterinary Clinic and met the staff and vet's. I was impressed. Sunset Veterinary Clinic is wonderful. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the veterinarians are all very caring and have great compassion for the animals. Unfortunately, our first experience with the Clinic was when our dog became very ill and was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. I was not able to take him to the vet, and so my husband took him, but Although Dr. Grimmett didn't even know me, she called that same day and spoke to me on the phone for at least 15 minutes and answered all my questions and was very honest about referring our pup to a specialist. Spud ended up passing away the night before his specialist's appointment a week later. Sunset sent the nicest card with really genuine messages inside, and it is still on our fridge 7 months later. We switched our two other dogs' care to Sunset, and have also now seen Dr. Kennemer who is equally as wonderful as Dr. Grimmett. I would very highly recommend this practice! Kennemer and Grimmett have gone above and beyond to demonstrate their care and concern for our animals numerous times, and Vickie and the other staff have always been pleasant to deal with as well. We have had to bring one of our kittens to them. first to check up after a dog bite, and later when her infection wasnt able to clear and she had ot be put down. They did excellent work, even took care of the body for us. I have alot of pets and lots of vets look down on that or make you buy things not needed. They were honest about the expetancy of our kitten and informed the best options. they also have never made me feel bad for owning many pets. The only edmond vets i trust. Read Less

When our Standard Schnauzer comes home from Sunset, she immediately runs to her water bowl and drinks it empty - twice! She's been to Sunset two times and will not be back. Dr. Kennemer and staff are the best! They are always so friendly and helpful; they truly care about animals and their clients. I have had to make several "emergency" appointments and they are always accommodating, even on busy days. Dr. Kennemer is very patient and is great at explaining whatever the problem may be with your pet. We absolutely trust this clinic, our animals are our children, so a "nice" doctor simply would not be enough. We used to raise Chihuahuas and received excellent care. We still take our two two that we have left there. It's hard to find a Vet that is willing and adept with small breeds.Dr. Kennemer is great with the animals and shoots straight. If he doesn't quite know what the problem is he will tell you and give recommendations on what to watch for or keep the pet for further examination rather than take a shot in the dark.
