At one time I would have given a glowing review for Deer Creek Animal Hospital. Dr. John Link is a very compassionate, professional veterinarian who my family has used for all of our animals for over 20 years. Unfortunately over the past couple of years the service in this clinic has gone from great to terrible. They no longer have time to see emergency cases, even for animals who they have seen their entire lives. When I needed to have a dog that had been their patient for 13 years euthanized they did not have time. When another of my dogs developed an acute abdomen they did not have time to see her, yet told me that they had seen several emergency cases that morning. If you are looking for a vet that can ONLY give your animal their yearly checkup this is the place for you. If you need a vet that will be there when your animal needs to be seen on an emergency basis you would be better off to look elsewhere. This office is more interested in gaining new clients than in retaining long standing clients. Read Less

We just moved to Oklahoma and we had one of the best visit in all of our experiences with animal medicine today with Dr. Brent Link. Our bulldog has been having breathing issues since before we moved away from Virginia 3 weeks ago. We have been told she has lung cancer or lymphoma. We put her on medicine to make the move and she did well. Today we visited Deercreek Animal Hospital for a follow up appointment and discovered that our girl is improving. Dr. Brent Link was very informative and caring about our experience in the hospital and with our dog. We will continue to monitor our dogs health with Deercreek Animal Hospital knowing she is in good hands! I would recommend this hospital to everyone who expects great care for their pet!Read Less

Fantastic. I have 2 dogs now but have had several dogs over years past. For the past 20 years I have gone no where except Dr. Link. His staff is the best. They are overwhelmed because they have so many people that want Dr. Link's care. He is a caring and nurturing individual that cares about his patients. Sparky has seizures and he had done everything in his power to help me get them under control. He has set with me outside in the cold on the ground with me and him after he had a stroke from one of the seizures and could not walk but he took his time and brought him out of it. Sparky is playful and rambunxious now and doing fine. He has always taken a personal interest, my last dog Kojak was old 14 and sick and Dr. Link came all the way to our house to check on him in his final days to make sure he was ok. His staff always greets me and is pleasant and I dont know how when sometimes it is total chaos from trying to fit everyone in to see Dr. Link. He is his staff are special and a fantastic group of individuals. Read Less

This is the best animal hospital I have ever found. Dr. Link, and the others that work there are some of the most compassionate people I know. I know everyone has their own situation, and have read the other reviews, but I honestly believe there are two sides to these stories. It is always heart wrenching to lose a pet, it is family!! Dr. Link has helped us many times with all kinds of situations. I had a full grown cat that only weighed ""a minute"" that developed a brain tumor and pushed her eye socket out. Dr. Link called me with this news WHILE DURING SURGERY and said it is not a good situation, remove the eye, save the cat...but it will grow back and would not be pleasant for the cat or me. When I finally decided to put my baby to sleep, he offered to bring her out of her sleep and I could say goodbye. I have never had a vet more compassionate than Dr. Link and his staff. I pray peace for those mislead and have lost their loved pet, but there are two sides. I will never take my pets anywhere else! Read Less

I will no longer go to Deer Creek Animal Hospital. We had a 14 years old dachshund that was still very healthy. We had noticed he had not been eating like he usually does (he lived to eat) and so we took him in and told them what all was going on. He was there for a week and so my mother-in-law went up there to see him and mentioned he might have swallowed something that is now stuck. So then they finally did barium and he passed a dishrag the next day. Yes a dishrag, I do not know how they missed it. We brought him home and he was fine then about 3 weeks ago we noticed he had gotten in the trash and was starting to have the same symptoms of not eating. We took him to the vet, I told the lady at the front desk that he had gotten in the trash and I think he swallowed a feminine product, she said okay I will let the dr know. I get a call a few days later and the vet told me he had an upset stomach and that he did a barium and there was nothing in there, again I told him I think he swallowed a feminine product, no response. So we brought him home and he was NOT getting better. So we ended up taking him to a vet in Ardmore, and right away she said there was something wrong, she ran test and did and ultra sound and they found something in his abdomen. They were going to do surgery the next day, but he passed away during the night. They did an autopsy on him the next morning and sure enough there was a feminine product in his stomach. She said the only thing that caused his death was the product which caused infections, other then that he was very healthy. I was extremely angry because not only did Deer Creek miss it once, they missed it twice, and the fact the vet DID NOT listen to me when I told them I think he swallowed that feminine product. The vet in Ardmore said if he really did a barium, I don?t know how they would have missed it. We took what was in our dogs stomach to Deer Creek and showed the vet, and he immediately got really rude and said, ?you want me to show you my x-rays?? He should know that soft tissue doesn?t show up in x-rays. There was no apology or anything. Read Less

This is the best vet's office I have ever encountered, and Dr. Link is the best vet I have ever been around! My family has known Dr. Link for years- my parents went to high school with him. I have used Dr. Link for the past 20 years and have never once been unsatisfied. My parents have knocked on his door in the middle of the night and woken him up with an emergency when their dog fell ill. He was glad to help, and did not charge any after hours fees. Try finding this kind of care and service elsewhere; I guarantee it is unmatched! Please do not be swayed by the delusional rantings of someone who is so grief-stricken that they have lost touch with reality! Animals die.. it is a fact of life. When my childhood dog passed away at Deer Creek, Dr. Link personally called us to break the news. We were devastated... but understood that this caring vet did all he could. Yes, the dog was returned to us in a plastic bag- so that we could get her home to bury her without messing up our car. When my dog Dexter came down with parvo, I called Dr. Link at 9pm, he offered his advice that most likely saved my dog's life! I was able to keep Dexter hydrated with a syringe as he slept, and as a result he only had to spend one day at the vet's office, did not need IV fluids, and made a full recovery! Also I saved hundreds of dollars on unnecessary treatments that other vets would have stuck me with. I cannot applaud Dr. Link and everyone at Deer Creek enough. He is the only one I will trust with my pets. Read Less

I can't think of a time I have ever been unhappy with the quality of service and the amount of compassion I have received from this vet hospital... My family and many of my friends have always gone to Dr.Link and Dr. Kyle.(there was a few others throughout the years, and they were all exceptional as well) I currently have 6 dogs and 2 cats under their care and the cats are 16 yrs old and 6 years old. The dogs are 3,2,1, and 3 months. They love going to the Dr. Kyle and he is very thorough and very good at explaining things to me if I don't understand. We have taken my 16 yr old cat there since he was tiny and they taught me to bottle feed him bc he wasn't weened yet and they are helping us care for him now that he is an old man and requires extra care. We have taken many dogs and cats there in the past 20+ years. I even took my pet mice there when I was younger because I needed them to tell me if they were male or female and they were very kind and took me to the back room to ""examine"" them and they were right, a male and a female and not long after there were babies. I have memories from when I was little of Dr Link being at my neighbors house at 2am helping them deliver their donkey, then he came back the next afternoon to check on her and the baby. Numerous times he came to work on their horse, who was quite old and eventually died, but Dr. Link was there with them to help them while she was passing. A close friend also has always taken her dogs and cats to Dr. Link and Dr. Kyle. She and her animals love them both. They are actually excited to go to the vet! She had a lab that was 16 years old and she had a stroke, the vet kept her the whole day monitoring her and gave my friend the time to say goodbye and prepare herself before they had to put her down. Their compassion is superior. i also love the office staff. The ladies are always friendly and helpful whether it's over the phone or in person, I always get an answer to any question i might have I understand some people have had issues with this hospital, but let's get real... they did not suffocate your dog with a bag, it's highly likely that your dog died and they put it in a plastic bag because when things die they release bodily fluids and toxins so they don't want it getting everywhere... It's also quite possible that when you carried the box the dog did indeed move for multiple reason (you did move the box and he could have shifted and it could have been nerves... all dead things twitch for a little bit...or it could have been your imagination and wishful thinking... but if I had a dog in a box and I was told he was dead and when I picked it up I truly believed it moved then you better believe I would have opened that box up long before I got all the way home and checked on it. I also find it very hard to believe they set aside live puppies to let them die. Also you are correct there is medicine for parvo at a vet supply place, but that is a preventative... Once ann animal actually gets parvo it can be fatal unless they are treated properly by a vet. I understand you are hurting, but you make no sense and you should wait until you are done grieving and until you have a clear head to start writing reviews in public forums on great professionals that have an outstanding reputation with the community, I love Deer Creek Animal Hospital and I will be bringing my furry family members there for many years to come... I took my female chihuahua there, they x rayed her, said she had a turned puppy. They did the c section, set the whole sack of puppies to one side to DIE! These were Champion bred puppies from a beloved little male I would have given my life for! They let them ALL DIE except the mother which they almost killed from overdose of anesthesia. Later on, my Champion male became ill, I took him to them, they said he would be okay, wouldn't die, to let them keep him over night. I called the next morning and the man vet there 'said' he died in the night. I was horrified, crushed, I can't tell you how deep my sadness was, he was a young little dog. They asked if I wanted THEM to put him in their pet cemetery, I told them NO, I would come get him. They took their time getting him, I was going to put him in his blanket. They brought him to me sealed in a BOX. I thought I felt movement in that box, when we got home I opened it to find him DEAD from SUFFOCATION IN A plastic BAG! He had struggled to breathe in that box, they MURDERED HIM! His tongue was still pink! His body limber, he had JUST DIED IN MY ARMS IN A BOX DUE TO SUFFOCATION IN A BAG! MURDERERS! I cried for weeks, I still cry, morn for my little Skeeter! They should be shut down, they have no business touching ANYONE'S PET they love so dearly as I loved mine! Now, I don't have him and all his puppies were left to die by them! I DESPISE those VETS, they don't care ONE BIT about your dog! They would as soon kill it as to look at it. I will NEVER trust them again! NEVER! They deserve to have their license revoked! Little Skeeter loved me so much, he would check on me every little while, if I lay on my bed he would rush to check on me, bouncing up and down to see me, see if I were okay. I could not hide from him, he would follow my scent to wherever I was. When he found me he would lay next to my bed or chair, by my feet, it didn't matter as long as he was close to me. May God bring suffering on them as they have to me, they don't deserve to be in practice, they deserve the same fate they gave my little dog. That was HORRIBLE to do to someone's pet!

Read Less

Our three dogs were recommended to Deer Creek by one of the 2 board certified vets in the whole state. We have since lost Penny, our oldest at age 15. Drs. Kyle and Link couldn't be nicer or more caring. They give that extra bit of attention that lets you see that they really do love the animals:) Our two dogs are thriving under the care of the Deer Creek vets and staff, and we are very grateful to have found this wonderful pet hospital.

Read Less
