I have taken my dogs Kamah and Wynnie to Meadow Wood on several occasions and they have always been thoughtful of the cost and care we received. This last time was hard because my beloved Wynnie was diagnosed with kidney disease. They informed me of the treatment that could prolonged her life but unfortunately I could not afford it. We took our 8 week old puppy to Meadow Wood and though we were greeted with smiles and a friendly front desk, once in the back when our precious baby was diagnosed with parvo, everything changed and we felt like it all became a money event from that point forward. We did not know a thing about this horrible disease except that it was deadly! We had to ask ALL the questions...very little information be it verbal or printed info. Was given to us. You usually don't know all the ...questions to ask if you know nothing about something. We googled for info. And got lots of varied answers to our questions. Answers we felt we should have received from our "trusted" Vet. We did not know puppies with parvo will not eat or drink on their own, or how much fluids to push and how often! We did not know what to try to push for protein if she vomited up everything we tried! Keep in mind that we took her twice for SQ fluids and shots for nausea, vomiting and antibiotics. I feel they failed us and our precious baby who passed away 2 days later.....not even a "We are so sorry for your loss" They got their money and that's all she was to them. My dog got stung by a bug and her face was very swollen so I called the veterinarian (Dr. McCune) and she was very helpful and was at the veterinary office before I was (It was a Sunday so their office was closed but she made an emergency visit). The tech (Britany) was not far behind us and helped hold my dog and helped Dr. McCune get the medications ready. They were both very comforting and so helpful. Dr. McCune explained everything in detail from the signs and symptoms of the medications to signs of worsening allergic reaction. I am so grateful for Britany and Dr. McCune! I highly suggest going to Meadow Wood Animal Hospital. The staff is so helpful and kind. I will be going to the veterinary office for as long as I live in Lawton! Read Less

We recently moved to Lawton from Abilene TX and had not yet found a new primary vet for our animals. We had a challenge ahead of us because the Vet we left behind was AMAZING and we wanted one just like them. So 2 days ago, we woke up to our little dogs barking constantly at 0430 in the morning. We went outside to find a horrific amount of blood that our 7 year old medium sized dog had been throwing up. It was THE WORST scenario imaginable and it was EVERYWHERE. I called vet ...offices and most were closed but others would not even consider helping us because we were not existing clients. My husband and I were watching our beloved pup, as he was suffering/dying and we were getting turned down by those who could help us. Meadow Wood on the other hand listened to the situation and the Vet came in early to help us without us being "existing clients". Our dog had thrown up 2/3 of his entire blood supply but with help from Meadow Wood he is alive today. We are not out of the woods yet but there is hope. As traumatic as the whole situation was, it would have devistated us if that right there was end of our pups life, him dying in that way. Very friendly staff, and also very easy to make same day appts. Dr. Jackson and Dr. McCune have been very helpful in assisting a litter of puppies I have been bringing in and my own four dogs. Dr. McCune saw all 12 of my dogs in one day and made sure they were all healthy and taken care of! I would recommended this vet to anyone! Read Less

I was extremely furious with my experience. I only received an update the first day. After that I called when I had not heard from anyone all day and was told that my fur baby was fine and eating normally which was a red flag to me because he only eats a normal serving every other day, but I thought maybe new food was the reason and dismissed my fear. The next day I was not called again and when I called I was told that for 2 days he had not eaten or been walked because he was growling and barking at all employees that tried to come near him. I have never been more furious with a veterinarian. I was lied to about his physical and mental state and was never told about my baby having an issue with being in a kennel. I then called everyone I knew and had a friend come pick him up immediately since I was still in another state. Once they picked him up they said it took him a couple hours and several treats before he returned to himself. I'm not sure who did what or what happened to him while in your care, but I will NEVER recommend or use Meadow Wood Animal Hospital again. Read Less

After several unpleasant trips to the Fort Sill vet we tried Meadow Wood and won't be going anywhere else! Super friendly and accommodating, they're quick to get us in whether it's routine or an emergency, and very happy with the boarding experience. Dr. Graham is a great dr. He is taking car of our cat. Our cat suddenly got sick and we had to bring her in early and Dr Graham saw her right away and immediately started taking care of her. He kept an eye on her all day and treaded her like his own. He kept our minds at ease as she is going through treatment. I wouldn't trust any other Dr. or veterinary clinic. Read Less

I believe that Dr. Graham is a WONDERFUL, brilliant and compassionate Veterinarian. He's the ONLY doctor in Lawton that I trust my 4-legged baby to. He is extremely thorough and doesn't run unnecessary tests just to gouge the fees. One time our boy, Buddy, had a lump on his right hip area...I was scared to death. Dr. Graham knowing Buddy's severe nervous issue, due to being abandoned for months in a vacant house....allowed me to bring him in at 7am (making sure nothing was eaten or drank since midnight) and after the procedure I was able to pick up my groggy little Jack Russell Terrorist just as he was coming to. I don't know any other doctor who would have been so understanding and compassionate about Bud's problems. Ended up just being a fatty tumor, and just like Dr. Graham said it did grow back about a year later, but no bigger. I recommend him to anyone I hear talking about looking for a new doc for their babies! I think he's an exceptional man....perhaps the dog whisperer??lol We go in tomorrow for shots and a nail trim--Bud doesn't really like going, but it could be SO much worse if it were ANY other doctor! We just rescued a dog that's in pretty bad shape and we normally go to the vet on post. Thankfully, they never answered the phone and we ended up going to meadow wood. Dr. McCune is wonderful we have seen her for over 10 years now she is fabulous. She is caring compationet she explains everything so well and guides you in the right choices. I love her would not see anyone else. They are getting ready to move to a new location closer to me which I am thrilled about but overall they all have a way with animals that is unparalleled. They make accommodations I don't think any other vet would make when one dog was there for a week being treated I was able to see him everyday. When it comes to the hard part of putting your pet down you get the hugs and support that you need and the time to say goodbye the time to grieve before you leave you are never rushed out the door.
