I was having a bad day and the blonde vet there wanted to do a 40 dollar skin scape on a dog I just adopted. When I objected because it would take 10 days for the culture to complete. Which means if the dog had wring worm my other pets would get it...My advice would be to see Dr. Black only! She is awesome.  But, because I had a melt down with the blonde vet I am no longer a client which upset me because I had been going there for years! Also; no one told me anything I just got my pets records in the mail with NO letter or a call to tell me that or talked to me giving me a second chance! I took my cat here to get her looked because she was having complications.. The news that I got back wasn't very good and I ended up having to put her down. Everyone in the office was very compassionate and understanding. And I also got a card in the mail with kind words from all of the staff. We had to put our 17 yr old lab down and Dr. Black and staff were amazing. Dr. Black was honest, kind and supportive. She gave my daughter and I the biggest hugs in our time of need. I took my dog in who was extremely sick and I was broken..not one positive word from anyone that worked there..and when I was called the next morning by them to tell me my dog died over night..again no kindness what so ever..and when I called back to advised them what we wanted to do with her they were rude..I would never recommend this place because of this experience..my Zowie was family not a number..and they made us feel like they didn't care..in turn we felt they didn't try hard enough to save her..now we have a large bill and one less loved one Read Less

My mother has been going to this vet for 13 years. Our first family dog they took care until he got cancer. I can tell you these people will cry when they have to euthinize a sick animal. our 2 dog was a golden who lived a long life and was treated regularly here he to had to be put to sleep at an old age. These dogs lived much longer thanks to this place. My entire family won't go anywhere else. My precious puppy got parvo and I immediately took her to Dr.Black. Of course I wanted to do everything I could to save her and so did they. I felt like they really cared and made the entire process as easy as possible for me and my family. She is now well and more active then before, I love them for saving her. Some vets will tell you there is nothing they can do but I know they well exhaust every option possible. She truly loves animals and I am so glad to have known about them. After searching for an hour in a panic at 3am Saturday morning, Dr Black was the only vet to answer our call. My daughter's 12 week old puppy got into ibuprofen and was unconscious when we arrived at her clinic. It didn't look good but she did everything she could and saved his life. We are forever in her debt and will be using her for all our animal care. I love how she was straight forward with us and didn't sugar coat what could be happening with my grand pup. She made sure we knew what could happen and what she hoped would happen. We are so relieved she was there because with out her we would have surely lost our little Anakin. Dr Black is the best!! I love this place. Dr. Black comforted and accommodated me when my Onyx died. They love my Shadow and Argo now. The staff really cares about all of their furry (or feathered, scaly, etc.) patients. I have been to previous vets with other dogs long ago, and no one can compare to the kindness, knowledge, and compassion that the entire staff has here. I will never go anywhere else. Doctor Black was the vet for my two boxers when I moved to Lawton in 2006. When we returned in 2012; she was the first person I thought about when I needed a vet. She is kind and compassionate and you can tell she really loves the dogs. She explains everything and takes the time to answer your questions and concerns. Through the loss of the oldest one last year and the many illnesses of the one that I still have, I have had MANY concerns. She has been there. Even when she had to show me "tough love" when she told me I was not doing my guys right when I was giving them too many treats, she took the time to explain the reasoning behind her statement. Her staff is truly amazing as well. They make a great team! Dr. Black has been our vet for only a little over one year, but we have been to see her very often in that time. Having 5 cats is a not only a lot of work but also a lot of trips to the vet. And all I can say is that she is hands-down, my favorite veterinarian in town! I will never take my pets to Dr. Black again - she's rude, she doesn't seem like she cares for pets at all - this is a money deal to her. Not only does she keep you waiting and give you dirty looks while your there, she's incompetent - misdiagnosed my dog, which thankfully was easily fixed be a GREAT vet. I tried to overlook all the horror stories I'd heard about animals she has caused to pass, figuring it was out of her control - however after having dealt with her and her staff - I can see why so many animals have died at her hands.
