I was told by a friend that if I had an emergency, I could call this number and I’d be sent to the vet on call to be seen on Sunday. My dog needed to be seen ASAP so I called and a lady named Rebecca answered the phone, and was extremely rude. When I told her my dog needed to be seen, she responded with “uhhh... it’s sunday.........” and as I was explaining that it’s an emergency she continued to cut me off and say “we’re closed on Sunday.” She didn’t sound concerned about my dog, and she didn’t sound like she cared at all to help me with anything. She was talking to be like I was an idiot who didn’t know what day it was. I will never go to this vet, nor will I ever recommend this vet to anyone. Read Less

I'm torn. I love Dr. Bower. I've taken my cat to Oak Ridge Animal Center his whole life, 11-ish years. But Oreo is getting older and was having skin problems. Dr. Freeman, whom we'd never seen before, told me that the bumps I had found were pimples and using a plastic water bowl can be the cause of that. She said that if I switch him to a metal water bowl, things should clear up. They haven't. I was going to bring him back to see what is going on. However, I recommended Oak Ridge to my best friend to take her cat to get a dental cleaning. They brought her here and she had her dental cleaning with Dr. Bernhardt. I love Bella like she I'd my own cat. When they brought her home, she was still so doped up that she was still paralyzed from the waist down. She couldn't walk or stand. She had to pee and had tried to get into her litter box but she was so drugged still, she couldn't drag herself in. I was outraged and disgusted when I saw this! But more than anything I'm afraid to take my own cat back there. I really love Dr. Bower and how well he takes care of Oreo, but I fear I won't get Dr. Bower and they will be as negligent with Oreo as they were with Bella. The amount of guilt I feel for sending her to them..it makes me sick. Read Less

I've been coming here since I was a little girl. I adopted a dog out of Elgin and thought I'd continue taking my dog to the vet there since he was used to that doctor, but I had such a bad experience after two trips that I came running back to Oak Ridge. I can't imagine going anywhere else as long as I live in Lawton! Read Less

I took my dog here, the vet was very friendly and caring. She took her time to examine my dog thoroughly. Even though the girls at the front desk were not very friendly, I will still take my dog here because of the vet. There was not much of a wait. I would recommend.Read Less

Recently, had to take my 2 yrs old wiener schnauzer mix, Rascal, due to injury from a bigger dog. They took such good care of Rascal. Unfortunately after about 10 days, Rascal took a turn for the worse and passed away. It was heartbreaking but the staff at Oak Ridge was so kind. It was late when my Precious had an episode. I couldn't get any other vet to call me back. They not only called me back but seen us at 12 am. Friendly helpful staff, reasonable prices. I really love this place. The first time I used them was years ago on a Sunday afternoon. My 8 yr old Doberman was deathly ill. I called around to all the vets and nobody would see her without cash or a card. Oakridge took a check. The Vet met me at the Center. ( she lived out of town ). She was so good with my dog that I felt very comfortable leaving her. My dog died that night. I still had a balance due but to my surprise I got a condolence card in the mail and a statement showing my balance. But over the balance was a stap saying paid in full. Sure enough I called and with no hesitation, they said "Bring him in, and we will also be happy to give you a tour of our facility!!" The funeral was on Saturday afternoon after they closed at noon. The Vet tech came back to work just to meet us so we could pick up Seven at 4:30PM after hours. They really where a group of nice and awesome staff members!! We have been going to Oak Ridge for over 10 years for our pets  We have never had any thing but praise for the vets there. And recently, when our beloved dog took a turn for the worst, it was apparent that we would have to make the ultimate decision. The support we received from the vets was excellent. For the past two years we had received nothing but excellent treatment for this dog, and when it came time to alleviate her pain in a humane manner, Dr. Bernhardt was there at 9:30 in the evening for us. I have been to many different vets in town .they were not bad just not for me ,but I knew from the first visit to Oakridge I was not going any where else. DR Bowers is amazing .You can really tell he loves his job and he really truly cares about all of his fur babys that come in there. About 7 weeks ago we had to thew one of the hardest things ever .We had a dog that had been going threw renal failure the past 6 month . Dr Bowers and his staff made such a already extremely hard situation, As easy as stress free as this could be. Any time I had a question or concern I could call and know I could get an answer or help.Which eased my heart . When it came time to make that life changing decision . they were there to make it as good of a experience as possible. I know you are asking your self how could that be a good experance. It is heart breaking and the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life, But when we came in they made sure it was at a time no one was in there and got us right to a room .not just any room but a room that makes you fell as if you are at home .with a couch where our fur baby and us could be on together.after our baby crossed rainbow he kissed him good by .now honestly how many vets do that .Non that i know of beside him. that made my heart happy to know how much he too cared about my baby. Dr. Bower is the best vet in town. I've seen other reviews about the female vet that was there and she's now gone, thank God. If you have a problem with the staff at any point, bring it up to the office manager or Dr. Bower. He will take care of it. Please don't rate the value of vet care, because it IS exceptional, by the tone of an office employee. I'll never take my Fur elsewhere. Read Less

I am very disappointed in this clinic. Don't get me wrong...Dr. Bower is amazing and my family has been seeing him for about 25 years. He's taken care of all my animals as I grew up and every animal I've had since becoming adult. I LOVE Dr. Bower. My issue is with the office staff. Upon moving back to Lawtin after a recent divorce, I accidentally left a burner on cooking, and when I returned home, it was completely filled with smoke and I found my beloved cat--who had previously been a patient of Oak Ridge Animal center hiding inside a tear in my box spring. In a panic, I called the Hospital to discuss if she needed emergency medical attention because o was so worried about smoke inhalation...I was told to find care elsewhere. Fine. I understood this and overlooked it. But I went today to buy for heartworm medicine for my dog, I was met my a chilly receptionist. When I asked we how much the heartworm medicine would be for 6 months, I was told $92 and come change. After that I asked how much it would be for 3 months, and it was even more expensive than the 3 month prescription! I told her I'd buy it online, and she argued with me talking about me needing a prescription which I thought I'd had through them since my dog had tested heartworm negative in the past 30 days. She finally said yes, they'd acknowledge a perscription, but I am so disappointed in the standard of care that I've been receiving from this clinics staff that I will be transferring my dogs records and trying out Dr. Freeman's clinic on Sheridan Rd for future needs. She use to have a partnership with Dr. Bower, and I really hope to receive the care there that I remember getting from Oak Ridge Animal Center years ago. As much as I love Dr. Bower, until the current office staff is replaced, I won't recommend this place. We deal more with the front office than the doctor, and it can really make or break a place. DR bower is fantastic... its the staff I have a problem with, they are not compassionate or sympathetic.... I called last Saturday to see if I could bring my German Sheppard in cause something was just not right, I happen to call about 1130... they said that I have to have him there by 12 because they close at 12. I told them I would try but my dog was dead weight and he couldn't stand. they said we close at 12 and we need money up front . no payments... they didn't ask what the problem was or anything so I started to explain to them and they said if I cant make it by 12 to please give them a call.... staff is horrible, Not that they care but I wont be back. This week we had another wonderful experience at Oak Ridge Animal Center. When I called and explained Callie's symptoms we got a "same day" appointment. The front desk is knowledgeable about what problems need to be seen right away. We were called back right on time. Dr. Bauer explained in layman's terms what the problem was and what the treatment was. You can tell the entire staff truly cares about animals. We love our Vet and staff.Read Less

Well Dr Bower has been my Vet for many years when I lived in Lawton. He works miracles in pets. I wish he was living here in California though! I took my Cat (Paisley) to a new Vet here and they couldn't even do an exam on her. They wanted to sedate her. Granted she's a feisty Cat. The new Vet asked me what 'tricks' my old Vet used with her and I told her 'none', that there was one tech in the room and him. I told her that he is a country Doc and he was just really fast and really good. I miss you Dr Bower! Read Less

I cannot thank Dr. Bower enough for the compassion he displayed toward me and my sweet Dubie. Dubie was diagnosed with congestive heart failure which had been controlled by medication. She took a bad turn for the worse. Dr. Bower is not my vet as I am not from this area. After calling him on a Sunday, he met me within 20 minutes at his clinic. Later that evening, I knew it was time. Dr. Bower met me AGAIN on Sunday evening. He comforted my sweet Dubie and gave us as much time as we needed. His compassion and care for my pet was sincere and genuine. Further, Dr. Bower only had my phone number from calling his emergency line. He answered two emergency calls on a Sunday and didn't ask for a dime. I went back in the next day to make final arrangements and render payment.
