We have a zoo (consisting of cats and dogs of all ages). I've made countless trips to see Dr. Kemp over the past couple of years. The staff is always excellent - kind, helpful. Dr. Kemp is very thorough, explains everything so I never have questions, and always makes our fur-kiddos as comfortable as can be - in an environment that can sometimes be a bit anxiety inducing for a lot of pets. I've never been to this clinic but I'm posting to let them know that now I never will based on the one review here that talked about the fact that they do not practice modern traditional veterinary medicine but, rather, prefer to be "natural" and "herbal" and, I agree with the other reviewer, "witch doctor-y". I want my precious fur babies treated with the very BEST, newest, most proven-effective medicine and science available, NOT with snake oil and voodoo. So, no, I'll be taking my boys elsewhere, one of which needs to be seen today and also needs a dental performed, and the other of which needs 2 knee surgeries and a dental with extractions. We spend THOUSANDS a year on veterinary care for our 2 pups to keep them as healthy as possible, so we are clients whose business, gained or lost, would be palpable to almost any small, country vet clinic. A stray dog showed up at our home in Mustang . We believe the fire works scared him and he got out of his yard. He had a deep gouge on his head and some other places on his body . He was also limping ! I called this Mustang Animal Clinic to see if they could take a look at him as he was in desperate need ! To my surprise they refused to even look at him because I was not the owner . I told them the situation and that I would pay for it and they still refused . What kind of clinic would refuse to help an injured lost dog ??? Aren't they suppose to care about animals ?? What if we found a dog that was hit by a car ??? They obviously have no compassion which is why I would never recommend this Mustang Animal Clinic . There are too many other great Animal clinics out there that truly care for injured animals . I used to sell natural dog food and I adamantly recommended every one of my customer to Dr. McNeal for several years. I saw my customer's dog's lives transformed because of her. Animals would come in suffering from horrible ailments their entire lives. I asked them to just trust me and go to her for a second opinion and EVERY SINGLE TIME they'd come back to me thanking me for sending them to her. I watched the progress. I saw the results. My twelve-year-old Schnauzer Chloe has always gone to the clinic. Dr. Harold diagnosed her with heart failure a few months ago. Front desk seriously has no idea what is going on. I called 5 days needing a bordatello shot only, just moved here and had ALL of dogs records. Was told "no problem you don't need an appointment just walk on in and the vet will do it" I told him I had NEVER been there he said as long as you have his records it would be no problem. Well I got there Saturday morning at 0750 and Houston there was a problem. Was told that I needed an appointment since it was his first visit, they unfortunately had no appointments available but would TRY to work him in. Seeing how they are only open until noon it couldn't be guaranteed that it would be today. It's sad when you try to plan everything and just because of an inept front desk I am forced to find some where else. So sad that a business is run in that way.Read Less

We used this clinic for YEARS AND Dr. McNeil was our neighbor. She misdiagnosed our Doxen as having a heart problem when in fact she had a broken leg-& treated her for a heart problem for 6 months before we found out the leg had been broken and by then it had healed wrong. I also had a cat that had been severely injured-we knew she would t make it and we asked Dr McNeil to euthanize her-she REFUSED & kept her for 3 days to "treat" her before finally euthanizing her. Soon after I got another kitten and she jumped off of something g wrong when she was 6 months old and fractured her back leg and growth plate-Dr. Cobb put a splint in her that weighed 10 pounds and had not been used in over 20 years-the kitten weighed 9 pounds at the time. My cat broke out some of her teeth trying to chew the splint off and we had to take her to the after hours vet clinic and they did another x-ray which showed the splint caused a 3rd fracture. Thank you SO very much to Dr. Harold and her amazing staff! We drove 3.5 hours for a consult on my sweet girl's osteosarcoma. The patience displayed by both the doctor, and the staff, was absolutely phenomenal! Dr. Harold truly has the patience of Job. I'm a very involved #dogmom who had a million questions about several different treatments, supplements, diet, and vitamins. She never "sighed" at me, or made me feel like I was "keeping her" from something more important. She made both of us feel like we were the only patients in the clinic. My daughter called to get an estimate for cleaning her dogs teeth.  They told her $200.  I took her dog in for her since she was working.  Once we got there, there were all these tests they wanted to do and by the end it was almost $1,000.    While we were sitting in the waiting room, a man was yelling about the price they had charged him way exceeded what he had first been told.  Guess we weren't the only ones with this problem!   We left without getting anything done...that estimate cost us $45.  Not a pleasant experience!! My dog was acting funny so we took him to this vet yesterday and they just said he had an ear infection and gave him some ear drops and said he would be fine in the next few days and would show improvement and this morning he was acting worse and died in my hallway after he bled from his mouth and peed and pooped himself. Went to the new office to buy basic heart worm medicine and they tried to overcharge me a $1.50 more for the same medicine, love the doc s and the care..something is wrong with management in 2016 looks like they care about overhead and profit. We have moved to another vet as its apparent the team here avoids meds when they are truly needed. We are all for natural remedies, but we've had two pugs suffer with kidney infections way too long that were 'cured' quickly when we took them to another vet. When I first found Mustang Animal Health Clinic, I did not have an animal in need of medical attention (or a pet at all, for that matter), but I needed advice: my son was followed home by a very sweet stray/lost dog and found an adorable VERY small turtle both in the same day. When I called, the woman who answered said to bring them on by and they would check the dog for a microchip (none unfortunately) and talk about our options. The staff went above and beyond to answer my questions and give great advice, all the while being remarkably friendly.  All of this, and I was not even a paying customer; I just wanted to help the dog.  While there I noticed the dog had fleas and ticks, so I asked the staff if there was a cheap remedy at the local pet store they had recommended.  A few moments later the male employee emerged with a great free sample to take care of the bugs.  They are full of great ideas and are some of the friendliest people you could meet.  It was so refreshing to find a group of people who cared about those animals as much as us; lovely group of folks! She even wanted to see him a couple more times after that for a follow up just to make sure he was recovering well. I wouldn't take my dog back to this place. They are incompetent, not organized, and don't seem to care about animals. They give me antibiotics and that's it. The doctor  didn't seem too concerned my dog had a deep gash in both of his legs nor did she bother giving me instructions on how to care for his wound until I asked the tech who had to get the dr to come back into the room. I took my dogs to Mustang Vet for over 4 years, the staff and professional care has greatly declined and I'm now looking for a new vet. My dog got injured and after 2 surgeries that were done incorrectly, I went to another clinic that fixed the problem. They cannot keep staff and I always had to wait 30-45 minutes even though I always had an appointment scheduled. They also are dishonest when it comes to pricing and what needs to be done with your pet, if you don't know alot of dogs they will empty your wallet doing tests that don't need to be done!!!
