Friendly people, knowledgeable, moderately priced. Small facility with only 2 rooms for checking animals. Small waiting area. Can be a lengthy visit depending on what you are there for, or who is in front of you. Overall, a good place to take your animals for all of their pet needs! Read Less

We live in central Norman so the drive to Thunderbird Vet is about 1/2 hour. This trip is justified by the very reasonable prices alone, but when you add in the friendliness and professionalism of the staff and doctors, Thunderbird Vet is worth an even farther drive! The staff seem to have a genuine interest and love for the animals we have brought for veterinary care, and they are always courteous and thoughtful, even when dealing with difficult subjects like end of life care for pets. I took my heeler Diesel there when he had to have his leg amputated. Everyone at the clinic was GREAT with Diesel and took amazing care of him. I've never seen a dog that in love with the staff at a vet's office, when I would take him for a walk while he was there (a week & a half) he made a point of going up to every member of the staff so they could love on him.Read Less

I took my two female rabbits here to get fixed. I had searched high and low for a vet that would fix female rabbits, and the very few that I found charged triple what Thunderbird Vet. Hospital charged. So it made the 45 min(both ways) drive more than worth it. Everyone in the office was very friendly, and they took great care of our bunnies! Read Less

This office is amazing!! The love and caring from each and every individual is truly astounding. My pets are there greatest concern and my feelings are taken into account when I get emotional. Recently my oldest German Shepherd became ill. I called and there were not immediate appointments available, I made an appointment a week out. Meanwhile my puppy got worse, I called to inform them she was getting worse. I was scared and worried! Dr. Mac is a super star in my book. She made arrangements to see my baby sooner than the scheduled appointment and got my puppy on track. Dr. Susan Mack is the most amazing vet in the state. I drive over an hour to bring my dogs to see her. She is worth it. She is compassionate and diligent in her work. She will do everything possible to save your animal. Her staff is amazing. On top of all of this they are the most affordable vet I have ever been too! I have lived all over the U.S. and have experienced a multitude of vetenarian clinics over the years. I have more faith and comfort with these 3 vets than any of the others. They have helped me through everything from birthing puppies to providing loving comfort during deaths of my pets. This clinic (I include all the technicians and assistants, too) is a wonderful place if you have pets that need medical care. They will explain everything and take time with you, unlike other places that usher you out the door without as much as a ""Goodbye"". My latest medical problem was extremely serious, when my Boxer female developed a horrendous mastitis and 106 degree temp. 2 dogs with special challenges and 2 cats also with their own quirks. We've been taking our pets to TBird Vet for 6 years and have no complaints. They are super caring of both our pets and us. And they handle the touch-my-paws-and-get-bit dog with admirable skill. Recently one of the cats had to have a leg amputated. They explained everything, did the deed and did such a good job that the cat caught a gopher two weeks after the surgery. What more can I say? We took our puppy there to get his first shots! He is a baby so he gets nerves. The staff took care of both of us :) I was pretty scared too. They treated our puppy so well. We recently moved to the Norman area. We have 4 dogs and was trying to locate a vet for our babies. A lady I work with highly recommended Thunderbird Veterinary Hospital. My Miniaturen Schnauzer developed a sore on his side that was getting infected. I took him to Thunderbird Vet and the girl at the front desk informed me that they didn't have any openings but could see me the next day. I quickly explained to her that he can't wait until tomorrow due to an infection. She again told me that they were completely booked that day. I was very surprised especially since the waiting room was totally empty. I immediately left and took him to another vet and he definitely had an infection. I was very disappointed! If she had of offered working me in, I would not have minded waiting at al but that was never an option. Read Less

When my jack russell, Oscar, had a severe kidney infection - they saved his life. They have the most caring, friendly and sincere people working there. Even though Oscar needed to have surgery, they didn't charge us an arm and a leg for it. They have been real kind as to let us pay for his surgery in smaller payments. Even though I live in ""town"" - I still drive all the way out there (about a 20 minute drive for me) because I wouldn't trust just anyone with my babies. Read Less
