Our pupper, Rufus, was vomiting all night, his stomach was bloated and hard to the touch, and he even vomited chunks of blood. Obviously that has us panicked, but we are waiting for payday.
We spent the better part of two hours researching online and calling veterinary offices, emergency animal hospitals, etc. Finally my husband got the response "We won't refuse care", and that was BluePearl.
Rufus has now been seen; there are many common explanations that could account for the bloating, ranging from stress to eating too quickly. Apparently dogs have quite sensitive stomach lining and it is not unheard of for chunks of the lining to come up in vomit.
The veterinarian recommended that he get an x-ray, but we can't afford that today. So they are giving him some fluids and medication for his nausea and vomiting. It has been made clear to us that without am x-ray we cannot know for certain that he doesn't have an obstruction, but if the vet felt that it was a matter of life or death she would've been upfront about it.
Overall I feel that our pupper was treated with care and compassion, we were well informed about what was going on and what was recommended. I am grateful that he was seen without us having to pay today. On payday I will be making a contribution to the fund that was used to treat our fur baby.
Thank you BluePearl! Read Less
