I had been taking my dog to this vet for 6 years, and I wish I would’ve taken her somewhere else a lot sooner. My dog had been back and forth to this clinic for the last 4 years with the same issue. She had been having a lot of skin issues and major weight gain (so much so that her belly began to sag). Each time we brought her in to get help, she was given steroids and told that we just needed to change her food to correct the weight gain. Out of all of the times that we brought her in for this issue, absolutely no additional testing or imaging was ever done. After we complied with the veterinarian’s treatment plan, we still saw no improvement to her condition. It has gotten so bad that I decided to take her to a different veterinarian, since this one obviously didn’t care enough to actually determine what was going on with her. After seeing my dog once, hearing about her symptoms, and completing a couple of tests, my new veterinarian already had a diagnosis, Cushing’s Disease. All it took was one visit in order to find a diagnosis. If the veterinarian at Brookwood clinic would have actually taken the time to practice medicine, instead of shuffling us in and out of the clinic, and taking hundreds of dollars for unnecessary treatment, my dog would not have suffered for as long as she did. When I called and spoke to the “doctor” to explain what was going on and express my frustration in the lack of adequate care, he continuously provided excuses and insincere apologies. I blame my self for putting my trust in this incompetent provider for so long. Please, if you are thinking of taking your pet to this clinic, DON’T. If you’re dog is already a patient here, and their health issues aren’t being addressed efficiently and timely, get a second opinion immediately. The veterinarian who finally helped my dog was Dr. Scroggins at Scroggins Animal Hospital. She is absolutely amazing and very thorough. Save yourself, your pet, and your wallet the trouble and DO NOT GO TO THIS CLINIC! Comment to clinic response: Again with the excuses. No testing was refused. You all never fully explained the possible medical conditions, or the different testing options available. Each time I brought Emma in to you all, the vet never even spent more than 15 minutes with her. How about you all take responsibility for the inadequate health care that was provided to my dog, and use it as a learning experience so that no other animal has to suffer. Read Less

Went in for yearly shots as their price was hard to beat. Staff is friendly and everything went pleasantly. Veterinarian answered some basic health questions while we were there and set our minds at ease about some minor ongoing issues to let us know they werent worrying about.Read Less

My first time in was a very difficult one for me. I brought my 15 year old pit Reeses in and I could tell she was in bad shape. Her appetite had been decreasing over the last couple of months and the morning I brought her in she couldn't stand and could barely move. After learning from you guys that her kidneys were failing I had to make the decision to say good bye to my longtime friend and family member. I went to this animal clinic with our German Shepherd the day before we left for vacation based on the reviews we had read. This was a last minute appointment as she had just begun to have diarrhea and didn't eat the morning before we planned to leave. The staff was super pleasant and got me in that very afternoon. I was appreciative of that. As far as the care: I feel the veterinarian did a thorough job of looking at ALL of the possibilities of what might be causing these symptoms. I felt there were a couple of areas that needed improvement in order for me to make this my preferred animal clinic or recommend them. They are as follows: 1. The office building is very small as well as the waiting area. There are 3 or 4 chairs with limited space; even then, there are bird cages in the small waiting area. This is a bit worrisome as our girl doesn't always like other animals....... 2. The vet tech who helped us in the room was nice, but the veterinarian himself was pretty business-like and didn't even introduce himself. I like to know my vet and not just be another "number." 3. FINALLY, when I called to ask the cost of an office visit, I was told it was $44; even though the veterinarian told me what tests he was going to run before he did them, I was never told that these test were very expensive.....I did see the sign on the wall that said payment due in full at time of service. My total bill for our shepherd having a sick stomach and diarrhea was a whopping $326 when I paid. I did pay in full, but I "about fell over." My primary suggestion would be to ASK at each stage during the visit what the cost of each test will be. This will help you determine what kind of care you can afford based on this information up front. Money is an object for those of us who need to budget! Read Less

I like most of the staff but don't ever forget to bring your ID if you plan to write a check for flea and tick meds, doesn't matter if you have written several checks to them in the past month or that they have a scan of the ID on file. My husband and I have 2 pets. A 3 yr old min doxie and a 16 year old tabby cat. We moved to Oklahoma almost 2 years ago and I think they have been fair, straightforward, honest and legitimate when it comes to the concern of our animals. You can get in fast, but we havent had any major issues other than blood work, allergy or stomach issues.  The staff is very sweet and they even call the Dr for questions tbey can tell I would rather them answer. I would recommend this animal clinic to all my friends! The staff was very helpful, even over the phone. They were the first vet in the area I could find that treats rodents, and I will definitely be taking my rat back here. The place is clean and welcoming. I had a great experience at Brookwood. My dog was a new patient and I called in for a hurry-up visit. There were not crazy up- front fees or hassels. They got me right in and were kind, attentive and thorough! Brookwood has taken excellent care of all our animals (3 dogs, 2 cats and a rabbit) for the past 3 years. Their offices are super clean and family operated with competitive pricing and discounts on certain procedures/treatments if you pay in cash. The staff is always really professional and friendly, answers our questions and gets us in for appointments pronto. Dr. Lewis has a ton of common sense and experience (cured one of our dogs, a stray, of heartworms). I moved from Schrag Animal Clinic after 7 years when I started questioning pricing and after an incident where they put my bunny under anesthetic to spay her but upon realizing that she was female, called to tell me they didn't feel comfortable doing the procedure. ?? Dr. Stachmus is very knowledgeable about bunnies, handles her gently and cured her when she stopped pooing. We have taken all our dogs to Dr. Lewis for the last 22 years. We have the greatest respect and trust for what they do to help keep our dogs healthy and for what they do when the do get sick. I am a bit hypervigilant and make many calls to them when one of my dogs is ill. They have always been patient and understanding of my hupervigilance. We would not take our dogs to anyone else.
