Dr. Loudenschlager is a lot of things. Skilled, compassionate, dedicated and tenacious just to name a few.We began to use Grant Square because Dr. L. provides care for some of the animals in the rescue we work with.  It didn't take long to see that he genuinely cared for these dogs, some of which were in REALLY bad shape coming into the program, and he worked tirelessly to provide them a better quality of life.  After about the 3rd or 4th dog we brought to him, we decided to start transitioning our personal animals to them.  Then we got the really pleasant surprise which is that he not only has reasonable rates, but he only recommends services that he feels are really necessary -- he doesn't pad the bill like a lot of other vets we've seen and he is sensitive to the fact that while we would spend a fortune to keep our pets healthy, we often shouldn't have to.tldr; Dr., L. and his staff are great vets and don't try to screw you. Dr. L and his staff are so friendly and professional, and they treat our rescue animals with the same care as they would if they were our own. Ask Dr. L about Nellie the Yorkie from Safe Haven Animal Rescue some time. She was a huge challenge who required multiple surgeries to make her ready for adoption but thanks to Dr. L and Grant Square, Nellie is happy and healthy and now living in her forever home! Very dissatisfied with the new vet/owner of Grant Square Animal Hospital. I have taken my dogs to Grant Square for over 20 years, highly respected and valued Dr. Corneil the previous owner/vet, was very professional very caring. It made him no difference if he was caring for a new puppy or an aging one he took all measures to give the best care to each one. I miss him and his compassion very much! I continued to see the new vet/owner with my two dogs, I worked very hard at getting past his different personality and not compare him with my past vet, he is very passive and does not present himself as being very professional. A few months ago we took our 15 year old dog in with some issues, we were told more or less he's old and has dementia, he dismissed some of the things we were concerned with and showed no compassion!Today we took our senior dog to a new vet only to find out our dog had liver cancer which explained why he had been acting the way he was, it was NOT due to his age it was the cancer killing him and causing the problems that Dr. Loudslager totally ignored and dismissed because he was an older dog. Today our beloved dog went to rainbow bridge, our hearts our broken! Young or old all pets deserve the best care, be very cautious when choosing this vet or any vet.The only reason I gave this a one star is because it was required some kind of rating, other wise I would given it a zero! I am in love with this place and will recommend to all my friends and family with pets. My dog had to have eye lid surgery a few weeks ago. As with anything you never know how the dog will react. She opened up the wound in her eye acting crazy at home and created more eye issues. It was a pure panic for my husband and I when we came home from work to find her. The care we received on each step of the process as they repaired the damage she caused to herself was incredible! Dr Loudenslager took the time to talk to my husband (who loves animals almost as much as he loves his family) and comfort him, assuring him that she would pull through. This is the BEST most affordable animal clinic in Oklahoma! My dog/bestie name buddy got really sick. I found out he had urethra and bladder blockage.I was gave 24hrs to make the biggest decision in my life. Buddy had to have surgery or be put to sleep. I called EVERY vet clinic in the state if Oklahoma. They all wanted $1500+ to even consider doing the surgery. Tears where flowing at this point. Then my dad suggested calling his veterinarian which was the best decision in the world. I move a lot being military and have been to a lot of veterinarians and it's hard to know which ones are going to be good. This place is in my top two. All of the staff I've come in contact with are really nice and helpful. The prices are very reasonable, which is hard to find. The veterinarian himself is amazing. He takes the time to talk to you and explains what's wrong with your pet and why they need the treatment they do. It is great! As long as I live in Oklahoma City I'll go to this vet. i just want to say thank you for taking my dog on a last minute trip. i left him there and i will tell you every time my dog is left some where uncomfortable he won't eat or drink i found him happy and in great shape after 7 days. well fed and hydrated that only tells me that they actually comfort him while he ate. and the price was crazy low. i would have expected to pay double in such a clean and great facility. thank you for boarding my pup.
