I called before I came in and explained my dog needed stitches, just to make sure they could do it. I was told it was no problem, they were staffed for that, there's a $60 emergency fee, bring the dog ASAP. When we got there less than 15 minutes later we were told it was actually a $110 fee, they were about to close and the doctors wouldn't be there until Monday, and I can just leave my dog there until Monday when they open again... It was 10:45am on Saturday, and for stitches they wanted me to leave my dog for 48 hours to incur mystery charges (because they couldn't quote me anything other than the fee until it was done). When we arrived, the woman working the front desk literally scoffed and said she didn't have time for this. I found the entire experience extremely unprofessional and I was very displeased that we wasted 30 minutes bothering with this clinic before taking him to an emergency clinic. If they didn't have the capacity or the staff, that would be one thing, but THAT'S LITERALLY WHY I CALLED FIRST. Suffice to say I won't be using this clinic for any of my animals. Read Less

This is by far the BEST veterinarian I have ever had. I'm new in town and had a pet emergency. I chose this veterinarian because it had good reviews for both care and price. I was not disappointed. I've never seen a more thorough physical exam, and the doctor was very helpful another choosing only the tests he needed to diagnose my dog's problem. He was able to prioritize tests and treatments so that costs were controlled. The positive reviews don't tell just how great this pet hospital is. It's staffed M-S and has an on-call doctor when it's closed. The front office staff is friendly, kind, and efficient. The doctor himself called the day following treatment to check on my dog. We have been clients of Dr Anthony Thomas at this clinic for over 4 years. We could not have had a better experience. Dr Thomas is a fantastic veterinarian as well as an incredible person. On the few occasions we've seen a different veterinarian at the clinic because Dr Thomas was unavailable, we've always found them to be very knowledgeable, personable and caring of our two dogs. The reception staff is hard working (and worked hard given the number of loyal clients who obviously share our assessment--phone always ringing) yet able to maintain a friendly and helpful attitude. The recent critiques alleging otherwise are so outside the bounds of our experience, we can't believe that there isn't more to the story than is being told in the review! Dr Troy is the absolute best! Ever hear of a dog being happy to go inside at the vet? Sure they like the ride but when it's time to go in mine used to hate it, they love going to see him. If it's late at night and your fur baby is in trouble, DON'T mention that you want to go here because they are the closest emergency veterinary care facility. They will take it personally and berate you over the phone. I suppose it's generally good advice not to tell your doctor that you went to the closest hospital, otherwise they might refuse to perform CPR. These people are the most unprofessional and childish "veterinarians" I've ever encountered anywhere. Their standard of care is simple: Get as much money out of you as possible, in any way possible. On our first visit to MVH, I brought our cat in (by appointment) to have her spayed. Very clean environment, professional, courteous staff and short wait time. The doctors are very gentle and caring, and will gladly answer any questions you have concerning your pet's care. The second visit was an emergency. She had been injured in a fight. We received immediate care, and again the wait time was very short even having come in without an appointment. We've seen three different doctors: the older gentleman someone else referenced in their review (I'm sorry, I don't remember his name), the doctor that took out her stitches after the surgery, and Dr. Lang who treated her fight injuries. They are all very knowledgeable and very pleasant. The staff knows our cat by name, and I'll be bringing her here to board when we're out of town since we're family now, LOL. My husband and I board are dogs with them. The staff at the time took good care of them. I rescued a neglected underweight 1year old female rat terrier mix. The previous owner had her for a year she never saw a vet and stayed in the back yard. My husband and I took her to this place. We have been seeing Dr. Stan Acres and Dr. Troy for over a year now and I can honestly say that they are the best veterinarians we have ever had! Dr. Stan treated one of our dogs for free when he found out we did not have any money and that she was just dumped off right after a tornado and Dr. Troy is going out of his way above and beyond to care for my daughter's turtle who contracted a bacterial infection from a turtle we purchased at pet smart. I will not take my animals anywhere else! The staff is always so good to us from the moment we walk in the door until we leave. Our pets are treated like babies there. Terrible. I took my dog here one time after hours in an emergency by mistake. I accidentally came to the wrong clinic. I knocked on the door and saw a nurse through the glass door. She looked at me like I was trash off the street. She didn't make a move to come to the door- she just stared at me with a disgusted look on her face. I knocked on the door again (mind you, my dog was having an emergency) and she finally came over. I had to put my dog on the ground because I couldn't hold him, hold an umbrella, and knock at the same time. She stared at me through the glass and then looked down in disgust at my dog. She started mouthing something to me, and I have no idea what she was saying. She wouldn't open the door to say "no one is here" or "we're closed". She just kept shaking her head with this stupid look on her face. Meanwhile i'm in a panic because my dog is really sick. All you had to do was crack the door and say "the doctors aren't here" (even though they have an emergency dept). She finally walked off, went and got a notepage and scribbled some crap on it. My dog and I are nearly soaking wet and I picked him up and walked off. I would NEVER take my dog to a place that has such ridiculously rude staff. If I see that old biddy again I'll probably hit her in the face. Thank god I could go across the street at the Air Depot Pet Clinic. I will never forget the look on her face. I've went there for years and always liked the vets in this office. They are fair and compassionate. The ones I've seen realize we live with and know our dogs well so they take everything we say into consideration. The problems I have always had were with the paperwork. Many times over the years one thing or another has gotten messed up. Definitely check your paperwork info before leaving. I've been over charged, double charged, had wrong dates listed, and so on.Read Less
