General Info
Oakwood Veterinary Clinic extends its services to pet owners throughout Oklahoma City and nearby regions by implementing a veterinary method that emphasizes collaborative work combined with observational techniques and specific progress markers. From the instant animals enter the examination space veterinarians begin to monitor their movement patterns along with social interactions while noting hesitation zones and assessing breath rhythm and tactile responsiveness. Physical assessments examine coat health hydration level gum color limb use joint sensitivity abdominal tone and muscle stability. The intake assessment reaches completion through owner feedback which includes recent appetite changes grooming routines interaction shifts and vocalization patterns that collectively guide the next steps. Oakwood Veterinary Clinic presents an array of organized services such as lab panels, dental procedures, surgical prep and recovery, age-adjusted diagnostics, and preventative wellness mapping. Detailed explanations of each service milestone are provided along with visual progress tools for multi-visit plans. The team assists owners in deciphering recovery body signals to identify readiness or resistance behaviors, thus enhancing intuitive home care. Behavioral benchmarks instead of calendar dates serve as the mapping criteria for follow-up visits. Owners should monitor observable changes such as sleep cycles eye contact duration surface preferences and mobility gradients to contextualize each return check-in. This ensures decisions are made with confidence and continuity. BEWARE DON'T COME HERE IF YOU LOVE YOUR DOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Sorry for Grammer and spelling.... the general manager just told me I'm ignorant just now anyway.....) I called on Thursday for boarding a 80-90lb mix breed dog for later that day to Sunday even though there closed on Sun. They will still let me pick him up . Everytime I come here there could be nobody in front of me or two in front of me.... like Thursday and the front desk NEVER knows what they are doing (but the doc is nice) and it still take them 45min to drop my dog off. They still hadn't finished with the gentleman in front of me and they where asking the same questions again and again and finally decided to take my dogs leash and said they would call me around 7 on Sunday for pickup because "they wouldn't want to be in the dog crate themselves" I went up there multiple times and Pam the tech didn't show up til 830 and I was told I should have just waited for my phone call!!!! (I also have issues with my phone and just worried they called and I didn't get it) I called the office this am(monday) to talk to the general manager and the lady on the phone said she was busy taking another call but I can talk with her and I said I would rather wait to talk to the doc or wait on the line for office manager . She asked me if I was a sales rep and I said no and she said she was the manager??? She told me it's normall for dogs at homes to sit in crates for 10+hrs and it happens at their office too Amd I should do waited so Pam the tech could of cleaned the pee smell off me dog. She even had the nerve to ask me how long my dog is in his crate at home!!!!!? I told her I lwork 15 from work and able to let him out at lunch time. This lady has me so mad especially when I asked her if it's her policy to let the dogs sit for 10 HOURS IN THE CREATES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG'S HER OR ANY OTHE ANIMAL ALL THEY CARE ABOUT IS YOUr mONEY!!!!!!!!!!!! Ps...my dog also has gentic mange that I have spent $$$$ 5-7 of of these special baths called dis and I did get a free bath. He's 3 now and when I first got him the first scraping came back positive but every time after thatit's negative aND I buy this special soap when I give him a bath. The doc is very nice BUT I WILL NO LONGER BRING A MEMBER OF MY FAMILY HERE. Read Less

Dr. Ohmann has been our trusted vet for many years. He and his staff are comforting to those whose pets have taken the bridge. He has taken excellent care of our pets. He is gentle and yet very efficient. He doesn't shame a customer who can't afford the best treatments. Some vets act like you're a horrible human being if you can't drop thousands on a 15-year-old cat. Downsides: Maybe he is a bit pricier than some but it seems worth it to us! It can be hard to get prices up front, for example, "How much will the spay and shots cost us?" but they are a busy, sort of harried office at times. One gets the impression that the computer and phone don't work all that well and they are constantly struggling with them. The location is kind of scary, in a mini-mall that has seen better days and doesn't seem to have any upkeep or security of any kind. None of the downsides justify downgrading him to 4 star! If you ever get a chance to just chat with him, ask him about the time he had to deal with a pet bear that broke its chain and climbed onto a roof. Whew! Read Less
