Rockwell Pet Clinic has gone above & beyond 4me & helpin me with my little girl, she's not exactly little but, they've been nothing but, stellar when it comes 2 taking care of my girl, & make sure that I'm always well informed about what may b goin on with her. They've stayed late, called me and given me updates when it's been something not just a chk up! I highly recommend Rockwell Pet Clinic & they're staff! We love bringing our fur babies here! We visited a couple different vets before we found Rockwell Pet Clinic, and we are so happy we found them. The other vets were good too, but just didnt seem as inviting and the way the staff at Rockwell Pet Clinic treats us and our loving furry ones has warranted our admiration. It almost seems like a loving pet home-away-from-home. They are great with our cats, have taken great care of them from vaccines to illnesses (even bathing, grooming, and nail trimming when we first adopted Dorothy who was very skittish and grimy, previously being abused and abandoned--they were so great with her!). They always are friendly, loving to our kitties, and knowledgeable too. Above all we love their expertise and care since both our cats came from a shelter with some needs we never knew could exist (one is FIV positive and missing an eye). Rockwell Pet Clinic has always taken wonderful care of all the cats (and occasional dogs) that I have taken there for care. They have actually cared for close to a thousand cats for us (local rescue) and their whole staff has always been very caring and professional with our rescues and fosters. Where many clinics in the area act like the homeless pets that are rescued by organizations and citizens are "throw away", Rockwell Pet Clinic personnel are courteous and caring with all the pets taken to them for care. On July 5,2017 I took my dog to see Dr.Leslie Wiewel for a second opinion on my dogs heart murmur and his medications. Dr. took a chest xray and showd me how large his heart was. Dr. decreased all his meds including dramatically reducing his lasix to 10mg twice a day and said let's follow up Monday. By Friday morning my dog was in respiratory distress and I took him back to Rockwell Vet. Lady in pink scrubs at desk only wanted to know if we had appointment. I explained we had been there on Wed and Dr said to bring him if there were any problems and even though my dog was visibly and audibly in respiratory distress she continued asking if we had appointment, she stated the Dr. wouldnt be in until 9a but had appointments after that but I could leave my dog there with them and Dr could see him when she got there. After the callous, cold, uncaring, unsympathetic exchange with 2 other workers also standing around not helping or doing anything I decided not to leave my dog there. My dog died later that day. My dog was an older dog but he wasn't supposed to die July 7,2017, two days after going to Rockwell Vet being treated by Dr.Leslie Wiewel Read Less

My family has taken our pets to Dr. McNeill at Rockwell Pet Clinic for 20+ years. I am so surprised to see less than great reviews because I have never had a bad experience. Dr. McNeill helped me say goodbye to my beloved dog of 13 years in 2016. He even cried with me. I currently have a 14 weeks old puppy. The whole staff ooohs and aaahs and is nothing but loving and kind to me and my pup. For those giving reviews based on the groomers....they are separate businesses. On Wednesday our Maltese became ill. Called for an appointment with her vet. We were grudgingly given an appointment. After a brief cursory examination and a shot for nauaea we were sent home with instructions that if she didn't improve by Friday we were to bring her back. She rallied briefly on Thursday. At about 8:00 PM she had a seizure and died. If you want to play Russian roulette with your pets health take them to the Rock well Vet Clinic.Read Less

So, I decided to ignore the bad reviews and booked appointments for my two large dogs to be bathed. I load said dogs, enormous dogs, into my car and drive over, having arranged my whole day around them being at the groomers. I take one dog in and am told I have to reschedule as they have no groomer, even though I made the appointment 4 days in advance. No apology. No, I'm sorry for inconveniencing you. These people are amazing!! Never in my life have I seen such a wonderful group of staff that are all so loving, helpful and kind with my dog Dazey and myself. Been taking my pets here for many years. Dr. McNeil is a great vet and truely cares for the animals he treats. There are usually pets to adopt there. Now his daughter has joined the practice. Can't go wrong taking your fur babies here. Read Less

I came in as a walk in and they fit me right in. Everyone was very nice. Dr. was great and didn't try to run up the bill like I have had many places do. I just moved to the area and this will be my new Vet. My cat is already feeling much better. Read Less

I was really scared to take my care for surgery. The nurses made me feel comfortable leaving my cat with them and I know they took great care of her! They will answer any questions you have and the nurses are so sweet! I highly recommend this place! Read Less

Dr. Wiewel is amazing. I have the utmost respect for her as she has the utmost respect for the animals she serves, and the humans that come with those animals. I have been seeing Dr. W. for 1 year now having moved to this area. I had a 14 y.o. dog and I have never experienced the compassion of a vet that I experienced with Dr. W. Made the move to Rockwell in July and have no regrets at all! The staff is always helpful and so friendly when I bring my pug puppy for shots. This past weekend we brought our two big dogs for their annual. My lab is very shy of strangers away from home, but Dr Mindy took her time, was VERY patient with her, she did her commands, & didn't Rush Sunna at all. My roommate got a kitten a few months ago and took him to get some shots and a full checkup yesterday. I also have a cat that is just over a year old that lives with us who plays with this kitten 24/7; they roll around all day and night. Both cats are fully indoor and even run away when an outside door is opened. The vet told my roommate after the checkup that he had ear mites which I fully suspected because both cats have been scratching their ears in excess. He gives the shots and prescribes an ear treatment and sends them on their way. Today we check the kitten because now he is scratching all over in excess and find that he has fleas. Not just a few here and there, but more than ten in just the small area under his chin the very first time we checked. We have checked our older cat several times finding absolutely no fleas at all, and also scoured the apartment in all of the kittens favorite spots and also found no fleas. After taking as many precautions as possible, I decided to call the Rockwell Pet Clinic to see if maybe it had also happened to any other animals that had visited, or if even someone could give me guidance on how to care for my animal since in over a year of having a cat and never changing my daily routine, I have never had or even seen a flea. Instead, Doctor Gary McNeill came to the phone with a poor attitude telling me that someone in my home tracked in fleas somehow. I asked how in less than 24 hours someone could bring in such a large amount of fleas that only choose to attack one cat and he pretty much blew me off saying that unless no one leaves or enters the house, it is extremely easy for fleas to get in. This ended our conversation and he never offered help in any way. From the other reviews I've read and from my roommates account, there are cats just laying around the clinic. I don't know how safe or helpful anyone is here but I will never visit this place for myself and also will be investigating whether or not a veterinary clinic is allowed to have animals laying wherever they want. I have used Rockwell Pet Clinic since 2006. They treated our dog with kindness and compassion. The staff was always friendly. We used the clinic for vaccinations, check ups, and a few times when our dog was really ill with a lung fungus. We also used the clinic for boarding our dog when we went on vacations. Unfortunately we also had to use the clinic when it was time to put our dog to sleep. The Dr. was kind, understanding, and very loving towards our pet and our family as she explained all of our options. It was not easy to lose our family pet of 12 years, but I am thankful that we had the staff of the Rockwell Pet Clinic to walk us through. They even sent us a very nice, handwritten card afterward. Sometimes it does smell more like animal than other times, but they rescue pets and have a lot going on. I've never thought the place wasn't clean. Read Less

If you don't mind a lack of compassion, this is the place for you. If you don't mind a rude receptionist that miscommunicates your conversation to the vet, this place is great. If you don't mind being told your dogs breed has a low pain tolerance and she just has cramps but I'm not sure where she's cramping from, perfect place. My dog didn't drink for 3 days and ate by the spoonful during that time. She couldn't walk and her abdomen was hard as a rock. She spent 2 full days at that office (with a day in between) and I got scolded for checking on her. Over $400 later, I'm told she's a wimpy breed. If this is what you're looking for, I highly recommend wasting your money there. However, I will point out vets are a dime a dozen in OKC. Thank goodness for that. We will be there TONIGHT. My wife took our dogs here for vaccines today so this is from her account of the scene.  She walked in and saw a cat scratch pole thing with a cubby in their receiving room.  She said there was a cat just flopped inside of it.  On the counter, next to a glass baking pan was another cat flopped on its side. When she inquired about the cats she was told they are "cats who are dropped off by people who don't want them and become part of the scenery".  Our great dane was extremely anxious to the point that he almost chewed through his leash, a behavior he has never exhibited on previous visits to his regular vet.  My wife also noticed that the floor was sticky.  Presumably dried up cat or dog urine that was not cleaned up.  When she asked about that she was told "Sorry".  It's true that you get what you pay for and in my opinion we paid too much for this visit.  Almost $200 for vaccinations and nail clippings is steep even without having to drive them to Midwest City. We travel 45 minutes to Gary McNeil. He is simply the best more caring and most knowledgeable veterinarian we have EVER had. He will return calls and speak personally with you any time. I have yet to find a doctor for myself that I like anywhere near as much as I do Gary. I have 3 dogs two are now around 11 years old and he takes the very best care of my furry babies. Read Less

I had my dogs boarded here over the weekend.  My dogs have NEVER been taken care of by anyone but me or close friends.  My dogs were petrified.  There was one young man who was very, very sweet with my terrified dogs and promised to spend extra time with him.  They also gave my dogs their shots.  For three nights of boarding and to get both dogs all their shots, it was $200.  I think that is not bad at all.  The only thing I didn't care for was that they only walked the dogs twice a day.  That made me uncomfortable.  The girls that worked at the counter weren't overly friendly but they weren't rude either.  The price was good and when I picked my dogs up, they were healthy and happy so it wasn't a WOW experience but it wasn't bad either. I've taken my pets to this clinic since I moved to OKC 6 years ago. I have never had an issue with anyone there. They were SUPER kind to me when I had to put down my dog and cat (at different times) that I'd had for over 14 years. I have adopted a kitten from them and had no problems there. The best place ever!!! I have 2 dogs 1 female (the oldest) 1 male (the puppy) I had a vet in which I used for over 2 years for both of my dogs. My baby boy was acting weird for months and every time I called my "old" vet they told me it was growing pains and gave me pain pills. (now I know better) Pain pills for a puppy!!!! Something is very wrong. I came home at lunch and my 1 year old was on the floor paralyzed. I freaked out and called them and told them i needed help immediately.They told me unless I had all the money up front they were not going to touch him, they helped my older one give birth to him!!! So heartless!! As I called around I realized all of them were like this. I called Rockwell Pet clinic and they immediately asked for as much information as possible and told me to bring him in immediately. They never told me money first, like everywhere else. (i mean come on they will have my dog of course I have to pay you to get him back!!!!!) When we got there Dr McNeil immediately took a look at him and started him on medication and treatments. They called me to give me updates every day and allowed me to visit whenever i wanted (FYI I was there everyday and on weekends and with a smile and hello they let me invade their space). By day 2 my baby was diagnosed with Lymes Disease (yeah growing pains my left foot) and if you ask anyone when Lymes disease hits your nervous systems its pretty much won. Knowing this I look back and realize that Dr. McNeil and his staff knew this but never gave up they exerted all options and took such great care of him all while helping keep my spirits up. I spent a lot of time there and watched them treat all animals and people the same with their kindness and caring. They were the most amazing TEAM and i say TEAM because i mean it they all worked so well together to make sure my baby was well taken care of they sincerely spoiled us!! I will never go any where else they cared so much about my baby when they didn't know him or me. Now a days you walk into a vet office and you are treated like a number not to mention they hit your pocket books knowing that you pet is a family member. They were more interested in getting him to feel better than how much to charge. Also I felt like I left my baby in the hands of family members!! I have takin my dogs in tho the clinic more then once and usually every one in there is amazing. Just this last time I was in there was a young lady, Allison working that day and she was very hateful. She had the I don't care attitude like she didn't care about the animals or even being there.
