Brought our chihuahua in to have her groomed, she sheds a lot so we usually have her shaved. She's a good dog so the groomer never has problems. Upon bringing her home we observed her laying in the sun and her stomach looked weird. We picked her up to check her out and her stomach was completely smooth. The groomer shaved her nipples off!! Looking at her further, she also had marks on her from the straps they used to confine her while this was done!! When we brought her back in to show what had been done, the only response was "what do you want us to do about it?" I was shocked and couldn't believe it! No one bring your pets here if you are getting them shaved. They obviously don't care about the animals and just want to rush through the process to get paid and get them out. Read Less

The facility is nice and clean but the customer service is extremely lacking. They never remember my pets name, they never take the time to get to know you or your pet. Their attitude is very distant just drop off pick up and hope for the best in between. I had my dog neutered here and no one, not the doctor or support staff discussed any pre or post surgery information. They never did a follow up call the next day to see how he was doing. Also, when they called to tell me he was out of surgery and could go home, I thanked the staff, she grumbled mm-hmm and hung up. I comp!eted a survey based on this visit and again no response or concern for my concerns. I have been looking for a new veterinarian to meet my needs, I don't feel confident that they can here. My experience with these vets was very poor.  Their website says that they're a small animal clinic, and they are used by someone I know, so I went in with a sick small animal.  They pressured and scared me worse than when I went in, and didn't have a discussion with me at all- they condescended to me.  Their bedside manner was atrocious; hell, I felt almost bullied.  But that aside, I figured they were knowledgeable, and I allowed them to recuperate him for a day.  When I called back, it was suggested I put him to sleep, because they could not improve him, and his situation would (supposedly) require surgery.  Small animals rarely live through surgery because of the anesthetic, they said to me, which I later found out is true.  So I paid the bills for their current service, and I took him to the animal shelter, where he was then put to sleep, given how much most vets charge for such a service.I later did some research and discovered that his particular ailment was extremely common, and that any small animal vet worth his or her salt, should have a very small, very inexpensive pair of tools to take care of the problem non-surgically.  It does NOT require anesthetic, my type of pet was EXCEEDINGLY common, and the procedure should be ROUTINE.  In fact, it is so common and simple that I could have done it at home with a little bit of training from a reputable pet breeder who knew how to do this. This is literally the most regretful and ashamed I have ever been, in terms of taking care of a pet.  Though I gave him every comfort and high quality food, a small part of it was that I didn't shop around for a knowledgeable small animal vet before I got him.  But I do rest the larger part of shame on them, as they should have been able to take care of the underlying problem in about fifteen minutes.  This was like going to a pediatrician, and finding out they didn't have any of the medical tools for a child... or even know how to treat one with a common ailment!  Just absolutely ludicrous. If they can't be trusted to do what their website says they do, what can you trust them to do?  If they want to be just another dog-and-cat dispense-pills-and-neuter-things veterinarian, they shouldn't bill themselves as a small pet hospital.  The memory of this horrible fiasco in the face of the knowledge I gained afterwards often makes me want to go spray-paint their sign! Wonderful doctors, wonderful support staff.  Caring and kind, they talk to you about the options regarding your pet's care and help you make the right decisions, rather than preaching what you MUST do.They also rate high because they offer our Yorkie rescue (and all the other rescue organizations in the area) really good rates (cut to the bone, basically).  We started out taking our fosters to them, and after the first couple of visits, made the decision to switch all of our pet's care to them (even though it is a very long drive from home).Dr.s Ashmore, Blessington, and Parsons rock. It is always difficult to take your pet, your best friend, to a new vet. There are always questions in your mind if they will be concerned about your pet's problem and if they will be knowledgeable enough to treat the problem effectively. All of those questions were put to rest when I had to take my cocker spaniel to the Schrag Clinic for her ear infection. The vet that had been treating her retired so I had to find someone new. The care she received at the Schrag Clinic was awesome. The doctor and her staff was caring and concerned about her infection. Not only was it important to them to administer the correct treatment but they were most interested in making sure I was educated in all areas from the causes of the infection to the administration of the medicine. The clinic was clean, and had a nice smell which made me feel like they were diligent in their efforts to maintain the clinic. My cocker acted at ease while being examined so I feel sure that she felt comfortable with the doctor and her staff. I would highly recommend the Schrag Clinic for all pet needs.

Not impressed. The vet does not have a good bedside manner with my pet, nor does she listen to you when you are talking. PRICES ARE VERY HIGH!

Read Less
