Southwestern Pet Clinic

I used to actually really like this place but they had a huge Spike in costs for services rendered fairly recently not sure if there was a change in management or something like that. Also had a recent bad experience when I had to take my cat in to get sutured three different times the first two times I was not given a cone to keep the cat from chewing through the sutures so I had to get them done again and again finally was given a cone and they finally put sutures and Staples in which was very sloppy and didn't wind up taking either finally broke down and just went to another vet about $600 later. Also would like to note that didn't seem very interested in the well-being of the animal as much as they did in how much they were going to make off of their services. Read Less

I have been taking lets here for years and will continue to do so. They are very good with animals, have great prices, and generally are quick at diagnosing my pets. There is sometimes a wait because there are no appointments, but it means your pet will be seen even if they are pretty packed. They have also been there when we had to put a beloved family pet down, and we did not feel rushed or like we were being a bother even though we were there late. The veterinarians care more about the animals than their owners. The owners matter of course! But not as much as the pet/pets you bring. True compassion & empathy here. I'll not take my pets anywhere else. Very reasonable rates too. The Vets & staff are awesome. Read Less

Judgmental and rude staff. I do not appreciate being criticized by a receptionist for being a few weeks late on one shot. We were late due to my grandmother passing away unexpectedly and they tried to make us feel like awful people. Will never go back.Read Less

We were told it would be one amount when we got there it was more when we got there. Said it was because of the age. That was not told to us when we made the appt. When we went to pick our dog up they brought us a different dog. Really not to happy with how everything went down.Read Less

My dogs are 13 and 14 years old. I have taken them to Southwestern Pet Clinic their whole lives. These people have gone above and beyond for my girls, from staying after hours waiting for me to get there because one was sick, to calling and answering my questions when she felt like I was still worried when I left. If you have a question that they may not know the answer to, they find the answer. They have done everything to ensure the health and happiness of my fur babies. They are the best. I found Dr. Geurin and Dr. Long 11 years ago when another clinic diagnosed my then 4 yo cat, Pyewacket, with urinary obstruction. He'd been catheterized 3 times in a week, and needed PU surgery to save his life. I had gone to no less than a half dozen other clinics, and after talking with each and every one of them, found Dr. Geurin and Dr. Long to be the most caring and compassionate. The staff is always caring and knowledgeable. I have always brought my pets here since that time. Even now, 11 years later, they are supporting me through what may turn out to be Pye's end of life care. I know the compassion and love they share for animals. Lazy, called and quoted one price showed up and was told another price then even if we paid the higher price they would not care for my puppies. They tried to down play turning them away....saying it's only...... Really disappointing I was considering moving my other dogs care over if everything went good. But all they did was run off prospective 4 other animals. But I drove down the street to and walked in and got my 7 puppies cared for with no issue at all at ranchwood vet office. In response to Shelly Q, review. The case you presented to us is against our clinic policy, to be performed on puppies that old. The reason for turning away your business was to not cause undue harm to your pups, due to the increased pain receptors and increased bleeding complication risks on the age and size of your puppies. It had nothing to do with "laziness" but everything with not jeopardizing the health of a puppy. When you called to check and see if we were the clinic that you had made your 2 pm appointment with, you were informed that, no, we didn't go on appointment but are a walk in based clinic. When you came in, it was then you told us the age of the puppies, and when informed we would not do the procedures, you became upset. Read Less

I have been coming to this clinic for many years. My furkids LOVE the staff there. We have recently moved to Claremore, OK, and still drive the 2 hours to take our babies here!!!! We definitely recommend them to everyone!! Read Less

On a Saturday, this was the only clinic that made time for one of my fur babies (my regular vet was closed) & stayed after hours to do so. Very kind, professional staff & I will definitely use them again. Extremely reasonable rates as well! Highly recommend! Read Less

This is definitely the best vet clinic I have ever been to and taken my animals to. Today, we had to take out dog of 16 years to be put down. It was incredibly emotional for out family, and we were treated with nothing but respect and sympathy. When we came in they asked people in the waiting room if they could go to the other side to give us privacy, they gave us as much time as we wanted before to spend with him, then the vet came in and explained everything to us was so respectful and understanding. She never made us feel in the way, and she just worked around us, and they gave us all the time we needed after. This was a difficult thing, but the staff here made it an easier experience. Dr Geurin and her staff are wonderful! We have used plenty of other veterinarians but after taking our babies, Sassy and Angel to Southwestern Pet Clinic, we will never go anywhere else. I have taken my dog to Southwestern Pet Clinic for twelve years and can not say enough about how well Dr. Long, Dr, Geurin, and the staff there have handled me and my Schnauzer. I am a huge fan of Dr. Geurin. I have 3 dogs and they all see her. I have tried several other vets around the SW OKC area before being referred to her by my dads friend. I had been battling urinary problems with my miniature schnauzer after being told by a previous vet that she would grow out of it and we could change her food from RX to regular after a certain age.... BTW they don't grow out of it, if they have issues they have issues. But, we went to Dr. Geurin and she got her on the right meds and got her well again. She has been great with my 12 year old Great Pyrenees, and even handles my very loud mouth, very hyper, all husky baby who can't seem to quit getting into messes. They are open on Saturdays and you don't have to have an appointment. They are very reasonable on their costs for care and your not getting a doctor that doesn't care just cause they don't cost you both arms and a leg for services. I recommend Dr. Shanda Geurin to anyone looking for an honest, caring vet with reasonable prices.Read Less
