Many vets won't take the time to answer questions or truly involve themselves in a pet's care. Dr. Lewis and his staff showed genuine love for my Bella. We purchased a gift basket at a silent auction for a school fundraiser that included a canine wellness exam that Dr. Lewis had donated. We didn't know it would turn out to be such a blessing to us as well as the school. My fur baby is almost 9 1/2 years old and has been under the care of a different vet her entire life. I... have always liked her vet but the experience taking Bella to see Dr. Lewis was night and day. They asked questions about her diet, any issues she had or medications she was on and about any concerns we had. I answered all of them and mentioned that she was a picky eater and sometimes will stop eating for a day or so and vomit up stomach acids. Dr. Lewis immediately asked questions about this behavior, how often, other symptoms, etc. He suggested some things it could be. Bella might be an angel at home, but she isn't the most cooperative patient. They still managed to do a full exam, also noticing something that might be genetic on her teeth that we should get checked out. She has never had an exam in that detail. Plus, he and the assistant explained what they were doing as they did it. I am just as vested in learning about Bella's health as I am my own and my two-legged loved one's care, so I appreciated that detail. Dr. Lewis suggested changing her heartworm medication to another one that included prevention of worms that could be causing her vomiting episodes. (This vomiting issue has been a problem her entire life and her vet has known it. She never even mentioned a different preventative and that it might be parasite related!) Dr. Lewis didn't stock the medication but I was able to order it from his online pharmacy. I am hoping we see results in a month or so and that she will feel better! The following day I received a call from Dr Lewis himself to give me the results of Bella's blood work. He explained each of the tests in detail and how it ruled out certain things that could cause her symptoms. All in all her blood work was great. He wanted to make sure I selected the right medicine to help Bella if it is an intestinal parasites that is causing her issues. He also discussed in detail options for food trials if this new preventive medicine doesn't work. I love the doctors! The techs are also very caring, but the billing department makes so many mistakes and wants to charge so much that it really hurts the overall experience. My husband and I are huge fans of Chimney Hills and so are my fur babies. They love Dr. Lewis and his staff. The staff are always courteous and knowledgeable about pet health. I love that Chimney Hills offers a pet plan that covers the major vet expenses including dental work and heartworm medication. I have carried the pet plan on my 12 year old dog for the last 2 years now and have used it many times. It's nice to have the safe feeling that I can afford to get the care my elderly dog needs. Great vet! Easy to get in to see the doctor and friendly staff. They give you little photo id cards of your pet with reminders of when their last shots were. I had to have one of my old lady dogs put down and they were amazing during the whole process - private room, very patient and understanding, and then even sent a condolence note to our house. I absolutely think this is the best place. I have 3 boxers and will never take them anywhere else. Our female had to have an emergency c-section a little while back. No big deal right , should be able to do it no problem. Well the power went out during my babies surgery!!! They quickly got out all 8 babies and did what they needed to do with momma. Thankfully even though there was no power all 8 puppies and their momma survived. Had I been somewhere else I am sure I would have lost the momma and probably some of the puppies as well. The staff even named one of the babies Storm. We kept the name because we thought it was very appropriate. Storms new family kept her name after I told them how she got her name. He is such an amazing vet that I have followed him to every clinic he has has practiced at over the years & now I drive all the way from Texas to see him. He has an excellent bedside manner, is reasonable, honest, competively priced, is equipped with the knowledge of the latest technologies, and truly listens to his patients concerns for their animal to come up with solutions that fit your pet, your budget, and one you are comfortable with. As a repeat customer, I have had multiple experiences in this facility. When it's working, it's great. However, the equipment is not reliable. On three occasions, the dog wash shut down in mid-wash, leaving me with wet, soapy dog. Chimney Hills reimbursed my money twice, but the third time, I took my wet dog and went home. I won't return to this facility because it is too unreliable and the hassle of dealing with the problems are greater than the benefit. Also, the wash bays are often dirty and no clean towels are available. I realize that part of this is due to inconsiderate people who wash their dogs here, however, the staff should check on it more frequently to make sure everything is clean and working properly. Our 12 year old dog died today. She was a happy life time patient. My wife and I were in tears when we brought our dog to Chimney Hills Animal Hospital. It goes without saying that losing an beloved animal is a painful experience. Dr. Lewis and his staff were remarkable. Five years ago I took my cat Candi for teeth cleaning at Chimney Hills. She not only got a kidney infection but died from a tear in her ephafagas and she died in a cage at Chimney Hills. They still had me pay for teeth cleaning and kidney infection charges. I've never been so sad over anything. Chubby has been blessed with finding such an excellent, knowledgably caring vet that really goes the extra mile in making sure ones pet is taken care of. The entire staff from the office staff to the techs to the doctors are wonderful. I am so happy to have purchased the annual plan for Chubby care. After moving to the area in 1990, we took our dogs to a vet clinic that seemed to have rotating vets right out of college. After buying a house nearby a year later, we discovered Chimney Hills Animal Hospital with permanent doctors, who got to know our dogs and we liked that and have been bringing them here ever since. When it has been time to send our pups over the "Rainbow Bridge" all the staff have been so supportive and compassionate. They cry with us and laugh with us when we bring dogs in for other reasons!
