I took my dog here to get him updated on all of his shots. I called in advance for a quote, which was around $150 over the phone. Upon leaving the total was a little over $200, so keep that in mind. What bothered me the most, though, was the unfriendliness I felt. Firstly, the veterinarian never introduced himself. He even mentioned one time, “have you been here before?.. You don’t look familiar” and still never even introduced himself. Secondly, They did not give my dog a snack while giving shots (maybe I was spoiled at my other vet prior to this because they would give small treats as they were giving the shots). Overall, I did not have a very friendly experience and did not feel as though they wanted me there nor that they cared about my dog’s comfort. It was more so a get them in and out quick vibe I felt. This is by far the best vet I have ever used. My wife and I were told by a different vet that the tumor our family dog had couldn't be removed and that we should put him down even though he showed no signs of pain or discomfort so we wanted a second opinion. We took him here and doc looked at the tumor and looked at us and said "not a problem, we can get it removed tomorrow", now although we did have to have it done once more since then (yesterday to be exact) we can't express in words how amazing this doc is. We have used Dr. Thomas for 12 years. There is not a better vet in the area who truly cares about your pets and you too. He also surrounds himself with top notch staff who really care too! More than once he has responded to a late night call from me and walked me thru what to do.....yes, he has stayed on the phone with me until midnight making sure all is well. Love Dr. Thomas and his staff at this vet clinic! Dr. Thomas has been our vet for 11 years. He has cared for both our Yorkie and our Shorkie since we got them as puppies.....plus two pet turtles and anything other critters my boys decide to drag home as a rescue situation! Dr. Thomas and his whole staff are kind and willing to answer any question you have, even in the middle of the night if there is a crisis. Ah!! I was SO  worried about my little puppy when I took him here. I had been seeing another vet for wellness checkups, but it was at a big chain place, and I didn't feel comfortable going there when my dog got sick. So I asked for some recommendations from coworkers and this place was mentioned. I loved the building, so I decided to check it out. One of my coworkers has been going there for years and told me lots of great stories. Dr. Chet took one look at my dog and immediately knew how to fix him. He also gave me lots of great pointers and tips on taking care of him. Amazing!! So personable! Love the homey little atmosphere too. And they are one of the few places I have ever found that sell Revolution- a flea and heart worm prevention in one- at their office. But above anything, I felt like I could trust the staff and felt like my dog would be well-taken care of here.  I will definitely go back. :) Read Less

I can't express enough how GRATEFUL I am to have found Dr.Chet Thomas. I recently moved to Tulsa with my 9 year old Shih Tzu, Ellie. I love Ellie more than I can ever express, and was apprehensive about finding her a new Vet, even for normal check ups.  I hadn't quite investigated and found one yet, when Ellie started having bladder troubles which quickly turned into an emergency. A friend recommended I go see Dr.Thomas at City Veterinary Hospital. I was very impressed from the first phone call I made. I spoke with Dr.Thomas himself the very first time I called in, and he has been the one to call me regarding Ellie each time since. Ellie ended up needing surgery to get a GIANT bladder stone removed, and he fit her in the very next morning, which happened to be the day before Thanksgiving. He is so hands on and caring with Ellie, and is very empathetic with myself and my family, He gave us a very good deal for the surgery and let us arrange a payment plan. Without this we would have not been able to afford her surgery, and I don't even want to think about what that would have been like. Not only am I happy to have found Dr.Thomas, but every else on his staff is wonderful as well. His 11 year old son was off school for Thanksgiving break and was at work with his Dad the day I picked Ellie up from surgery, and he was so polite and kind. He carried Ellie's medications and new prescription food out to the car for me, and even opened my car door for me! Glenda also walked us out and helped me with a very groggy and sore Ellie, making sure she got into the car okay. This building was designed by Joseph Koeberling Jr. and built in 1943.  I don't understand why they thought it need to be put on the National Register, but it is.  Several years ago, the vet that had this building was very nice to let me walk around the property and take pictures.  The next week, he put up new lanterns on the front of the building!  If you are in a time crunch, although this is a well maintained Art Deco site,  I don't recommend it.
