Our mission is to provide up to date medical and surgical care for your loved ones. We care for all family members from dogs and cats to birds and exotic pets such as rabbits,ferrets, rodents and reptiles. We also work with the US Fish and Wildlife Service, the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife and local rehabilitators to care for abandoned and injured wildlife.

We have two parrots and Dr Welch has done minor upkeep (feathers and feet) as well as major boarding for us. He’s always happy to share his vast knowledge and make sure we are up to date on any new findings, especially for our Eclectus. Tuesday, however, our young Eclectus hen began acting strangely and I realized she was trying to lay an egg. It wasn’t cooperating with being laid, however, and I made an appointment, fearing she could be egg bound. Thankfully Dr Welch knew what to do about the large soft shelled egg stuck inside my beloved bird! With great efficiency and quick decision making, he quickly assembled a team of his staff and was able to “pro-bang” my expensive exotic bird’s problematic progeny...he literally saved Holly’s life with a few relatively uninvasive maneuvers and not nearly as much impact to my wallet as I had anticipated! No blood, no stitches, no surgery, and almost no stress to my dear fine feathered friend who was able to pass the remains of the egg by Thursday morning. We are so grateful that Dr Welch has spent 30+ years caring for exotics and continuing to expand his knowledge with ongoing education in this field. Thank you!

I've enjoyed talking my babies to Forest Trails for several years after several friends recommended them. But, now I want to say a public thank you to Dr. Michael Rhodes, Dr. Paul Welch, and everyone at Forest Trails Animal Hospital. I just received the a letter from Oklahoma State University's Center for Veterinary Health that a donation was made in memory of Schone. Tears were brought to my eyes, but they were tears of happiness and with a smile. Thank you!!!

I was in Eureka Springs, Arkansas over the weekend, and I needed someone to take care of my parakeets and cockatiels. I brought them over. I came back that Monday to pick them up, and I was impressed how you took care of them. They even got new perches and new toys to play with. Also, they got different feed. I was very happy to see my birds in good shape. I plan to go to Branson for a few days next spring. I know where to go if I need boarding for my birds. Thank you, Forest Trails!

I had to let my cat go yesterday and I felt terrible, it was an extremely difficult decision. Dr. Smith and her staff were so kind and gentle, it gave me comfort. Dr. Rhodes is our regular vet and he's also wonderful. My dog pooped all over the place out of fear. Dr. Rhodes wasn't fazed at all, just cleaned it up and kept talking with a smile on his face, even comforted the dog after. I'll never go anywhere else.

The vet revealed that it was a tumor and we had to put her to rest. It had been a few days until the visit and Im so thankful for the tender kindness of the staff at Forest Trails. They take care of animals like they take care of pets owners. Highly recommended.

I want to take a second and thank the entire staff at Forest Trails Animal Hospital for all their help. They helped so much during Harley's fight and were there until the end. They have such outstanding vets and vet techs who are prepared to do everything they can to help. Dr. Rhodes exceeded my expectations from reading up on Pythiosis to contacting Bob Glass with PAVLAB about what actions should be taken and when. Thank you so much Forest Trails Animal Hospital and all the staff I will definitely never trust another vets office with the care of my animals again.

Dr. Welch and his staff are the best in town bar none. Dr. Welch loves his profession and you can tell. Dexter my boxer in general is a very apprehensive around people in general. Our first appointment to see him was amazing to see because as soon as Dr. Welch entered the examining room Dexter immediately was drawn to him. Dr. Welch has been a Godsend to us. Dexter is nearing the end of the road as he is 13 yrs. old and the doc has been able to make his quality of life so much better up until I have to make the decision to put my baby down. I won't trust anyone else to care for my dogs. If not for him and his caring staff I would have had a nervous breakdown by now. Words alone cannot describe the appreciation we have for dr. Welch. Thank you for making us pesky pet owners feel much more at ease about our ailing pets.

He's great about talking veterinary speak in plain English without making me feel dumb, and I truly appreciate that after another chicken vet I had a hard time with.

Dr. Welch and Dr. Greenhouse are both fantastic. They care bout people and Vets. Dr. Welch is knowledgable with all animals and one of the foremost Vets in Tulsa w/birds. Dr. Greenhouse is a very good surgeon. She is also skilled with accupuncture. I am very discerning in my veterinary needs for my animals. Forest Trails and Dr. Welch and Greenhouse are both highly recommended. I have more faith in my Vets than my own doctors. Their staff is fantastic. Very friendly and CARING for the animals. This is a reason they are one of the top Veterinary Hospitals in town. Some other staffs are not as top flight as Forest Trails entire staff and their genuine concern for your pet. They are good people and 5 star plus in caring for animals. I have 100% trust in my Vets and Forest Trails animal Hospital.

Dr. Welch is extremely knowledgable, works with all pets and exotics, and has a wonderful, cheerful attitude with pet owners. Has lots of animal husbandry and care tips that he's willing to share to help you better care for your pet. Tries to keep your costs down by not running up bills with unnecessary and often inconclusive testing. He's one of the few bird vets in the area and the best. He can handle your bird easily without stressing it. I can't say enough about him but try to get an advance appointment as he books up fast. However, he will work emergencies in if possible.

We have two parrots and Dr Welch has done minor upkeep (feathers and feet) as well as major boarding for us. He’s always happy to share his vast knowledge and make sure we are up to date on any new findings, especially for our Eclectus. Tuesday, however, our young Eclectus hen began acting strangely and I realized she was trying to lay an egg. It wasn’t cooperating with being laid, however, and I made an appointment, fearing she could be egg bound. Thankfully Dr Welch knew what to do about the large soft shelled egg stuck inside my beloved bird! I came back that Monday to pick them up, and I was impressed how you took care of them. They even got new perches and new toys to play with. Also, they got different feed. I was very happy to see my birds in good shape. I plan to go to Branson for a few days next spring. I know where to go if I need boarding for my birds. Thank you, Forest Trails!

I had to let my cat go yesterday and I felt terrible, it was an extremely difficult decision. Dr. Smith and her staff were so kind and gentle, it gave me comfort. Tries to keep your costs down by not running up bills with unnecessary and often inconclusive testing. He's one of the few bird vets in the area and the best. He can handle your bird easily without stressing it. I can't say enough about him but try to get an advance appointment as he books up fast. However, he will work emergencies in if possible.

Dr. Welch is just wonderful with animals and is always very friendly. I highly recomend, is also very knowledgeable of exotic vets.
