This clinic has taken care of our family pets for years. I have never had a bad experience nor felt the doctors were making us do unnecessary tests. Our questions have always been answered professionally and we have never left the clinic doubting or considering going to another clinic for a second opinion. The front desk staff is very coordinated with the back and and it's been the same girls for years and though they get very busy at times, there is never a panic or flustered atmosphere. My sister has 3 pugs and this is where she takes them to see a vet. The staff are all really nice and happy to help. Even when tragedy struck my other sister's dog they handled the situation really well. From what I have been told by them the prices are also great. Read Less

Dr. Thomas is excellent. He is very informative and provides regular updates when either boarding or overnight medical. The rest of the staff is also quite helpful and friendly. Everyone there treats you and your animals like family. They greet you and your pets by name. The facility is always very clean. And when there accidents, they are cleaned up quickly. Read Less

Coming to this place was a very hard time for us, which resulted in the loss of our beloved Frito (a ferret), but I have no I'll will towards this vet. They did everything they could, including an operation at a very affordable price. On his final day, they allowed us to come in on a Saturday on a moment's notice. We had to say goodbye to our dear baby, but this vet let us be there the whole time as they did what had to be done. The receptionist looked like she clearly did not enjoy her job and was very unfriendly and uncaring. However, all of the other staff was very friendly, chatty and down to earth, as was the doctor. On a funny side note, we came in to pick up our ferret after his surgery and was informed by a vet tech that the doctor was just coming out of surgery and it would be a few minutes since he was all messy and "we wouldn't want to see that". My wife said that she didn't mind and that that sort of stuff didn't bother her. She was just being nice, not insisting on seeing the doctor ASAP, but 30 seconds later the doctor apparently took her on her word and showed up, complete with bloody gloves and a golf ball-sized growth in his hand (from another animal). My wife enjoyed the experience just fine, but I am sure that would not have happened if it wasn't for the staff knowing my wife would be ok with it. Just be careful what you, or your wife, asks for. They will do what is best for your pet. The front desk staff is helpful & the techs truly love the animals. The vets explain procedures and options well. It is usually full, but I have not found my wait to be any longer than with other vet clinics. Dr. Kughn has been wonderful with my lab and cat. She has seen Patch our Pitbull since he was a wee baby....  We just mention her name and he just cant control himself...  The staff is just great Never have I met a bunch of great loving folks..... Their prices are unbeatable... We can email Dr. Katie and she will always answer back....  Patch is in love with her and thinks she is his girlfriend.... I come here for my pets health needs. The vets here are really nice and friendly. They are easy to talk to and always gives me free samples when I bring my dogs in for check ups. I don't ever wait long to see the vets. I've brought my dog here for boarding a few times. It's inexpensive compared to the other places I've been to. I brought our Jack Russell terrier here from Edmond based on a referral. Edmond vets wanted to charge over $1000 for dental cleaning and some teeth removal that needed done. War acres treated our Jack really well and loved on him a ton. Their price for all the work was just over $400 to remove 14 teeth and clean. - we had really neglected Jack and War Acres fixed him up!If you want top notch service and a fair price War Acres is worth the drive! I have been to Dr. Wilkens at Warr Acres several times. My cat Tuxi had an eye injury and his eye had to be surgically removed. Dr. Wilkens was so gentle and caring with him. I appreciate all he did for Tuxi and me. Both my cats are taken to Warr Acres and I wouldn't go anywhere else. All the staff at Warr Acres are real nice and helpful. My neighbor and I are elderly and have lots of trouble walking and they have made everything easier for me and my neighbor. I would recommend this clinic to anyone who loves their animals. Read Less

I've been taking Buddy and Cooper here since 2011. I usually see Dr. Thomas, but sometimes Dr. Wilkins steps in for an emergency if I have to get in a quick appointment and Dr. Thomas is not available. They are both wonderful vets.I had to go through the experience of losing a very sick dog. Dr. Thomas was very caring and compassionate. It was heartbreaking. They sent us a card after it was all over.My dog Buddy is quite a troublemaker. His curiosity led him to tearing into a package of nori (seaweed) that I had trashed. Dr. Thomas has to do some research to see if it was poisonous, but he got back with me very quickly. I feel like their costs are very reasonable. They aren't nearly as expensive as some other places, but they still provide a high quality of animal care. Read Less

I would have given WAAC 5 stars up until about 3 years ago.  I have to say I LOVE Dr. Wilkins, and his nurturing spirit kept me as a client for over 15 years. My first pet loved him so much that all I had to say is the words, 'Dr. Wilkins', and my lab would go to the door with leash in mouth and tag wagging.  However, the staff he's hired in the last few years has left me with a sense of overall disappointment.Although I feel my pets are always cared for - I do not feel the cleanliness of the facility is what it used to be.  When my pets go in without fleas and they come home with fleas - it's a problem.  This has happened the last three times I've taken my fur-babies to them.  The initial response I received from the front desk is, "You can't be sure they came from us - when they could have gotten them from your back yard."  Okay??  When I've been maintaining my house and yard - without a spec of flea dirt nor a flea in sight on either pet - and as soon as I pick my pets up from the vet they're scratching and itching with fleas - I'm pretty sure it's not my yard.  Especially when the same thing happened three times in a row, without a trace of fleas prior to a vet visit.For me, it used to be worth it to drive to Warr Acres, from my normal far NW OKC stomping grounds, to make sure Dr. W had my business.  But, since it has cost me so much money, time, & effort to de-flea our environment after our last three visits - I've found someplace closer to home that promises to never allow this sort of issue to happen. My sister picked up a stray kitten and several months later it got out of the apartment, freaked out when she tried to catch him, and ended up biting her hand.  She had to take him to an animal hospital to get tested for rabies and he apparently became even more freaked out and the hospital said that he was vicious (but not rabid).  He was neither; just scared.  Needless to say, we were leery about taking him to another vet and have them have a hard time with him as well.  Took him to the Warr Acres Animal Clinic to get him fixed and they treated him just right.  They were super friendly, professional, and were much less expensive than Neel and the other vets in the area.  Overall, we had an amazing experience with our kitty here.  They followed up several times and even sent a Christmas card.  Would HIGHLY recommend them for your furbabies' care. We love Warr Acres for our fur babies' needs. Our girls are a little bit nervous at the vet, and they really take lots of time to get down on their level and make sure they feel as comfortable as possible. It's really impressive that they spend this much time making sure the pups are settled before any of the medical stuff starts. We've been happy with the care they've received, and that's the main thing. But I do feel the front desk experience could use some work, so I can't go five stars on that deal. When I came in to pick up Gertie recently, the women at the front desk treated me, not bad exactly, but definitely indifferently. But the pups get good care, so we'll definitely be sticking with this clinic. Read Less

My family has always used Dr. Wilkins and we love this place. He was so kind when we had to put our family dog down a few years ago. Since then I have gotten a dog of my own and have a good experience every visit. My pup Behr has struggled with anxiety at times and the staff are all SO good with him. We went in for his shots and some eye drops today and met with a vet there other than Dr. Wilkins, and she was amazing with Behr as well. So impressed by the time they spend with each animal and owner. I don't use them for grooming, only because we have a family friend who grooms Behr the way I like better, but definitely a place you can trust for all medical needs! Read Less

We are long-time patients at WAAC and have seen both Drs. Wilkins and Thomas over the years.  They both are lovely, patient, knowledgeable and compassionate vets.  We have a tenacious little terrier who over the years has broken, snagged, and ripped too many toenails to count and has had to have one removed.  When removing the toenail, they took into account all the trips we had made over the prior months for the same issue and discounted our bill to adjust for all the trial and error we went through to avoid that happening-- something that was unexpected and much appreciated.  The front desk staff and techs are all very kind too, and they never laugh at just how much we treat our quadruped like a real child.  My in-laws all go to Warr  Acres and over the years I have gone with them to put down two elderly pets.  The doctors and staff were compassionate and kind during these tough times and treated my dogs-in-law like the beloved family members they were.  We truly couldn't ask for more out of a caregiver, pet or otherwise. I have been very impressed with this vet. I recently adopted a puppy and she came with a pretty serious case of ringworm. I liked that the vet was open on Saturday and when I called they fit me in that day. I really appreciated the vet Dr. Wilkins. He was very straight forward and honest. He told me to get an over the counter medication because it would be cheap. He listened to me and gave very good advice about her care. He was gentle and compassionate. He gave me a free sample of flea, tick and heart worm medication also. I was very pleased and I will be back. They have boarding services and I was very happy with the care they gave my dog during our vacation. The staff was always very nice when I called to check on her. I LOVE Warr Acres Animal Clinic. Dr. Thomas is my veterinarian.  He has had to euthanize (unfortunately) 2 pets for me - my 12 year old Lab, Lucy,  Christmas 2010 due to Congestive Heart Failure (very sudden), and my 14 year old calico kitty Chloe this May because of Cancer and kidney failure. I promptly received the most compassionate sympathy cards in the mail from him, even before being asked to pay for his services.There is another veterinarian there also, Dr. Wilkinson. He is a very good doctor too, but Dr. Thomas is my favorite.  My mother has started taking her dogs to him also.  I have dogs and cats.  He is very good with both, and one thing that impresses me is that he always gives me options, such as not requiring me to run testing and leaving it up to me based on my budget or letting me decide to start or not start an elderly dog on expensive maintenance medicines that they will be dependent on for the rest of their lives, because it may not help prolong their lives anyway. I have been to other veterinarians that seemed to drain me every time I was in the office.Last summer I had to board my three cats for 9 days while out of town. They were welcome to work with me on the price since I was bringing in three for so many days. They took very good care of them, and the daughter of one of the techs would come in every day and take them out and play with them.I would definitely trust them with any of my pets. Read Less

I've been taking my Vizsla here a little over a year and they are great.  So far so good!I changed from Neel vet just down the road from Warr Acres!  Neel vet is all about money!  I had taken all my dogs to them for over 35yrs and they let me know they wouldn't help a stray dog my friend found that had gotten into a situation with a porcupine unless I gave them my card!  I hope it was worth it Neel Vet because you lost a total of 4 customers over this! We were less than impressed with our general experience. We took our six-month dog in to be spayed because it is the clinic that the foster group uses for spay and neutering all of their adoptions. Otherwise we would have taken her to Quail Creek.When we took her in that morning, they didn't ask if she had been fed that morning (she hadn't) and didn't ask for proof of completed vaccinations (which even our groomer at Petsmart asks for). We never even had the opportunity to meet the doctor who would do the surgery before or after when we picked her up. The staff seemed to handle everything as a process without actually making sure we were comfortable and had all of our questions answered. Only one staff member seemed remotely helpful. Read Less

Trying to find someone willing to groom a cranky adult cat can be quite a chore (and trying to do it yourself is pure folly) so Warr Acres Animal Clinic will always have my gratitude for their willingness to groom and care for my 20 lb, diabetic, sometimes-difficult cat, Maggie. They always did an excellent job with her and would alert me to her various health issues so she could be as healthy and happy for as long as possible. The location is easy to find, there's off-street parking, the staff is friendly, and the interior is very clean.
