Very disappointed, when I picked up my dog today after 10 days of boarding, she was filthy and grey and she smelled very bad. When I turn my dog for boarding she was washed & cleaned. This is the 3rd time I have picked her up in this condition. For $35/night, feed her 2x/day and have a walk 2 to 3 times/day, they should manage to take care of my dog better. They supposed to give a s..t about animals and how they are treated. I will not be using this incompetent establishment. Read Less

I have been taking my animals here for years. Dr.Ellwood is amazing! However, their prices are astronomical! $900 to clean 2 cats teeth? And that was with 20% off. They keep pushing their pet insurance, but it would cost more than I pay for health insurance for myself and my husband. Read Less

This place is great. The staff is always super friendly and caring. The doctors are on point and usually fairly well versed in veterinary medicine and practice. This location had a remodel several years ago and looks fantastic now. VCA is generally a little pricey, but the service and treatment really make that price tag appropriate. Read Less

Well they can probably fix your pet, but you have to be careful with these people. Every time I'm in there I feel satisfied with their services but they always try to take you on a ride and try to charge you for everything under the sun, necessary or not. I went in for a simple yearly checkup once and left with a $500+ bill, still don't understand how it got so high so quickly, my pet wasn't even ill or anything! Be careful! Read Less

Mercifully nearby for our car-averse felines, we've never received anything less than friendly, compassionate, competent and professional care -- including when we had to say goodbye to one of ours. The staff here has always been very responsive and understanding of the unique situations that might arise from pet ownership. After our dog Red had surgery and developed an infection the staff was very quick to help me schedule new appointments, even going so far as to do consults via text messages for pictures and many follow up calls to ensure everything was going smoothly. My first visit experience - This place is excellent. The reception staff is absolutely understanding and accommodating. Yesterday morning, I made an appointment for my cat who had eaten a bunch of packing tape and had vomited a couple times and started dry heaving. By the time I got home from work, he seemed like he was doing much, much better so I called and talked with the staff about calling off the visit. We ended up cancelling - with no penalties to me. Well, I ended up calling back today because my boy was not doing so great once again and had not eaten anything (which is rare, he's kind of a pig). Without hesitation, they scheduled me a visit this evening at 8:30. I mentioned I would like to get in sooner if possible and to call me with any cancellations. I received a call about an hour after that and was able to bring him in right away! As far as my experience with the Dr...I feel extremely fortunate to have met Dr. Ellwood - especially as a cat owner. She really knows cats, has 4 of her own, and without hesitation she got to the point and stressed the need for x-rays out of what I perceived to be, her honest, personal concern for my cat. She even sent them to a radiologist for further examination to rule out whether surgery was necessary or not at this point. Within 30 minutes, the radiologist had called back and Dr. Ellwood delivered me very good news - but made sure to stress the chance that he still may need surgery if things don't get better and thoroughly explained to me all of my options. She fed him a can of food, free of charge, and we decided to order a subcutaneous fluid delivery. While the tech was performing this 10-minute procedure, Dr. Ellwood stopped back into the room 3 MORE TIMES to see how things were going with my cat and to make sure he and I were doing well. She was extremely thorough with post-visit instructions and even requested that I call back tomorrow to let her know how he is feeling. This type of care is hard to find. I am not the type of person to stress about how much things are going to cost, especially when it comes to my pet's well being. A THOROUGH and honest diagnosis is worth sacrificing some of my hard-earned cash, and a proper analysis will end up saving money in the long run anyway. That being said, by no means did I find the services at VCA Rock Creek to be over-priced. I'm so glad a family member of mine, who lived in this area decades ago, recommended this place to me. Dr. Lo was excellent. She was honest and forthcoming about everything. She offered us literature on the issues our cat was having and gave her opinion. I know she truly cared for our feline and valued her life as a great doctor would for any patient. Sadly, we had to make the hard decision and Dr. Lo could not have been more professional. She offered treats and anesthesia so our departing family member went peacefully. From now I will only being using Dr. Lo at Rock Creek for the health of my other animals. Read Less

Recently my German Shepherd had a serious infection, pyometra. My family was very concerned and looked up local vet hospitals. I ended up going to VCA Rock Creek Animal Hospital accidentally instead of the Tanasbourne Hospital that I had looked up. After being given a quote for $2500 - $3000 I left. I ended up going to Sherwood and had the surgery at Crossroads for $1000. Crossroads took great care of my dog. They even removed a tumor she had. The Vet at VCA Rock Creek was kind, although I didn't like the "I am just doing what's best for your dog" comment. My objection wasn't the surgery, it was the fact I knew that surgery didn't cost $3,000. I felt as if they have a pricing system to take advantage of concerned pet parents. Shop around if you get a quote from these guys. It could save you $2,000. Read Less

Been taking our dog here for four years. We have had 2 emergencies where we have been completely at their mercy, and they DID NOT OVERCHARGE! Saw Maya right away, fixed the problems, kept her for HOURS, and we were out of there for well under $300 both times. If the same care had been provided for a human, would have been thousands. They have great availability/hours Another time I dropped by with a dog I found wandering in the street because animal control was closed, and the dog obviously belonged to someone. For free, they scanned her, read her microchip, notified the owners, and kept her in their care until her owners picked her up, just to step up and be Good Samaritans. That dog was back with her people within an hour of me finding her, thanks to them, and they didn't even hesitate. Read Less

I My initial visit was positive to mend my dog after a viscous cat attack. My most recent visit with my other dog that suffered from diarrhea, although aware that it was stress related, wanted to do x-rays, additional testing, and pretty much anything that would separate me from my money, without a care of the toll it would take on my aging baby. Usually don't write these for anyone but I am new to the area and did not know where to go. I rescued a cat and brought her in for a free first visit to find out if she was chipped and fixed. The people here were wonderful. They found my cat's chip and helped me establish she was abandon. With VCA's help I am now the proud owner of a beautiful cat. I have been taking my 2 dogs to VCA Rock Creek for about 2 years. Every time I have a service done at the clinic, it has been amazing. The staff at VCA RC are very friendly and answer all of the questions that I may have. I hear negative things about this clinic and I really do not see where people come up with the stories (maybe the people try and get free things and like to make a scene) but I LOVE THIS PLACE!
