We had to put our cat down, they were very sympathetic and kind. They adjusted our bill for tests that were performed, but then they found there was no hope. Very reasonable prices.

Long story short: I was sold a product that didn't work, I asked for refund or store credit, they denied(unnecessarily rudely), vet lied saying that he told me the product would take 2 days when in fact he gave impression the injection would take immediate effect, and phone receptionist when I called back(after visit) said it'd take 2 hours..so they clearly contradict anyway. The result of their lie and not giving full disclosure: my cat scratched his legs RAW in the night. * I had clothes on him prior to vet visit and took them off because vet said the steroid shot would stop him from being itchy/scratchy. He hates clothes so I wanted him to be able to get out of them. They should've given full disclosure. Should've at least made it right when it was their mistake. Read Less

This place was recommended as a referral for great Vet care and service. Vet Keith is great, however front office isn't so great. Took my dog here for care and thought things were great at first. However office staff do not communicate to provide great service for customers/clients. They kept my dogs leash and collar after a surgery. If you call be prepared to be told, I'm NOT SURE WHERE IT IS. Even after you've been told to just stop by anytime and pick up. Keith was great, Front office is terrible and speak to you as your dumb and offer no solution other than - the other employee that rearranged isn't here and we don't know where anything is. We will call you back when that employee returns. Molly and Amy are front staff I spoke with. If a place cant provide great service all around - I wouldn't recommend. Read Less

DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE!!! I wish I could give zero stars. If you love your animal you will avoid this place at all cost. This vet will joke about kicking and euthanizing your dog if he doesn't like it and physically throw your pet into a kennel if he thinks the pet is at all aggressive. (I wonder why it would be!) This is why he doesn't want you (the pet owner) in the room while he's doing an exam. He also jokes about charging a "stupidity fee" to people who he thinks don't know what is best for THEIR PET. How is this guy still in business when he OBVIOUSLY DOESN'T CARE ABOUT ANIMALS AND IS HUMAN GARBAGE? Read Less

I took my cat in for a shave since her long hair gets matted and she gets poop stuck on her fur.  The tech told me they refuse to shave her since she required anesthesia last time.  I told her my cat never had sedation, and in fact, I was told she did well with just one tech, and I've had her shaved there multiple times.  She insisted they gave my cat sedation last time, and I said, "Then you did it without asking me first or telling me afterward," to which she responded, "They wouldn't have done that."  My cat has always been returned to me fully alert and energetic.  I told them to look up my last bill which was $59.50 for a full shave and nail trim.  I asked the receptionist if a $59.50 charge (which the bill was not itemized) represented an anesthesia charge, and she said, "They might have done it for free."  I then asked for all my cats' medical records so I could bring them to a different vet, and she has me listed as having a cat named "Smokey."  When I told her that this isn't my cat, she stated, "Well, it's in your records." WE loved our vet at this clinic and then were told he sold the practice in Dec. 2016.  We can no longer recommend this clinic or new vet.  We are new to puppies and learning as we go and found we were scammed and possibly our puppy was hurt... our new vet says at least four weeks between vaccinations and this vet via his staff had us going in early and our new puppy had a vaccination reaction......When I called the clinic about splitting up the shots over an appropriate time, was told by the tech that their protocol was what they follow... said I did not care about their protocol and would the vet do the right thing regarding our puppy... he hung up on me....further at the last visit this vet told us we should get our puppy neutered at five or six months and our new vet said he obviously was not keeping up with veterinary science.  In the recent UC Davis study with a huge sampling of Golden Retrievers, it was found that by neutering before a year the puppies are damned to painful and cancer filled short lifespan.  But by delaying neutering to at least a year, the dogs were healthy much, much longer and grew to the healthy size and long lives they were meant to have.... I really want to say he must have been unaware of this extensive UC Davis study because if he was knowledgeable of the study and did not inform us right up front would mean, well you fill in the rest.  I just want to say bad words now about them. ... Then we found out that this is not a real Veterinarian office but just some corporate assembly line now.  We will never go back to them and cannot recommend them. Read Less

I had no problem paying it but I asked the question of what all they were charging me for because no prices were discussed with me at the time of the exam. The front desk lady was very nice and getting ready to go through the pricing with me and the Dr. came out and starting yelling at me for questioning the prices. They made the process of getting my kitten spayed very easy. It did not require a preliminary check up and their prices are fantastic. My only criticism is that I was not invited into the examination room and never met the veterinarian that would be performing the operation. I only interacted with the reception desk and, as a worrier, I did not get to have my nerves relieved by speaking to someone who could tell me about the surgery. Every thing is fine of course and my kitten is recovering wonderfully. Read Less

I told the front desk and anyone I encountered this when vet came in without making the pup feel comfortable and "Introducing " himself to her he roughly grabbed her by the collar and pushed her onto her back she was yelping because she was terrified. Long story short no test were ran on her and she was given a immunization in her condition (which I have been told was not right in her condition). We were sent home after a charcoal treatment was done on her with a diet to follow chicken broth then rice and cottage cheese. I ended up talking her to another Vet a day after because she was deteriorating in front of us. This Vet diagnosed her with Pravo. Where's the 0 star rating at? A friend of mine used to work here so I took my almost 2 year old lab/ pit mix since she had been lethargic for a few, they advise me to do blood work at that time $200 no big deal right?! I get a call later that afternoon with the "results" and by results I mean 8 minutes of useless conversation in which her first statement about them was "her calcium levels are very high and we don't know what, you need to call someone else and have them look at her". At this point I'm upset due to the manor in which the phone call was handled by these "professionals". Being a service manager at a repair shop (in business for 90+ years, whom other local shops being vehicles to when they can't figure out an issue) it's like a doctors office/ hospital for cars right? In this instance which I've had before a customer has an issue and we can't identify it at the time so what do we do?! Let them know that the issue is not prominent enough for us to diagnose, or B, it's an issue that is more than we are able to handle at our facility and it needs to go to let's say auto electric specialties since we are struggling to find a power draw within the vehicle. With that being said we either A, take the vehicle to the speciality shop for the needed repair for the customer or B. We refund the faulty diagnosis or do a no charge for the time, effort and if small parts (wire connectors, fuses, ect) when I called to talk to the manager, doctor or owner the lady at the front counter drills me with questions and says that email is the only way to communicate with him is via email. Which I did to his "business email" that is an @yahoo.com (very professional, said no one ever) no reply to my email at all. I call back again today just to see if their phone lines are recorded so I could ask him to go back and hear what his employee said to me. When I asked this the lady at the front counter starts drilling me with questions again and is beyond rude. I could care less about the money but the fact that you upfront tell people you have no idea what the lab results mean, ignore emails, as well as pretty much tell my girlfriend to F off is the most unprofessional way to go about business. The lack of knowledge and confidence within this company makes me wonder how the doors open stay open 5 days a week. Aside from the poor quality of their industry the owner/ Doctor uses a yahoo account for email, and their credit card machine won't process and have to run a card twice and even when it says there is an error on their end it can hit someone's bank account twice but they'll refund it when they close their batch for the day. They said that's been going on for months since they got the machine.... MONTHS, that happened to me TWICE in one day I had my merchant service company out within 90 minutes to fix my machine. So please if you love your pet do yourself a favor and drive 1/2 mile south to the VCA clinic and spend the extra $15 for an exam the first time so you don't waste $40 at this clinic. VCA did lab work then advised me to do X-rays due to the amounts of calcium in my dogs system they feared it was cancer, which they figured out within 60 minutes of me walking in to their clinic to the time I walked out.  Mr. Alford I'm sure you can figure out who I am by this and can look me up in your system. Feel free to give me a call and settle this. Read Less

My dog is dead because of Dr. Johnson, who is neglectful and incompetent. I took my dog here 2 days in a row and called the third day to make sure Dr. Johnson knew my dog still wasn't doing well. A very long story short my dog experienced hind leg weakness the 1st day I took him to companion Pet clinic, the 2nd day was paralyzed from the waist down and lost control over his bowels. Dr Johnson did an xray the first day which showed everything looked normal. He kept telling me to go home and wait both visits that my dog would get better in time. The 3rd day I called and told him Tucker was worse and still in excruciating pain. Once again i was told to wait. The next day my dogs condition/pain was too much for me to watch so I took him to the emergency veterinarian down the road. The emergency vet knew right away that Tucker was paralyzed for life and needed surgery immediately. She also told me that any dog that becomes paralyzed needs to have surgery within 24 hours if they are to walk again. I agreed to do the surgery since my dog was young and this was a sudden devastating situation, I wasn't ready to lose my dog. Once she performed an MRI (which should have been done immediately after becoming paralyzed) she could see that since we had been helping my dog to go potty outside and moved him around that we had even further injured his back so severely that his spine was inoperable. I had to put my dog down that night. The part that I can not forgive is my dog would still be alive had Dr Johnson just said I don't know let's consult a specialist who does know what they are doing. Instead my 2 and half year old dog was put down. I went from a healthy happy dog 4 days prior to euthanizing him. Then to top it off I didn't get an apology from the clinic or vet. I didn't get we're sorry for your loss. They avoided all my attempts to contact them and make the situation right. If you love your animal please don't take them here. This clinic cost me my best friend. Read Less

They informed me that one of the medications my dog was taking was unnecessary and recommended a cheaper one that does the same thing. Do NOT take your pet here! BAD CARE! BAD STAFF, incompetent VET.Neglectful! Inconsiderate. Poorly organized. Poor communication. Poor Pet care. I recently adopted a year old cat and I found out about this place from the Humane Society, so I thought it was a reputable referral. I was wrong. As I am a new pet owner, I was not sure of the proper procedure for vet clinics, but I am pretty sure that it is not supposed to be like this!I took my cat there to get a skin lump checked out ( I did not know if it was a tick or not). I called and the office gal told me it was a 15 minute wait for walk ins. I headed over. My cat gets very anxious with car rides and was already a little nervous while in her carrier. The office staff allowed other pet owners to have their dogs off leash in the lobby and dogs were curiously coming up to the cat carrier to check it out. My cat was extremely upset ( howling and growling), yet the office staff nor the other pet owners bothered to leash their pets or keep them away from my cat carrier. After about 40 minutes, I was finally asked to go back with the vet tech. It was quite obvious that my cat was upset ( heard by her howling and growling), yet she tried nothing to calm or soothe the pet. She proceeded to try to open the cat carrier door without placing it on the table first. SHE DROPPED THE CAT CARRIER WITH MY CAT IN IT ! The door of the carrier swung open as it hit the floor and my cat fled to hide under the chair! The Vet Tech acted like it was not big deal and tried to retrieve the cat from under the chair. I said no, and coaxed my cat and tried to calm her down. The Vet Tech proceeded to just go through a required routine and weigh her. My cat would have nothing to do with her, but the tech secured her to the table with her arm. The cats legs were sprawled flat out at her sides and she was moaning and whimpering in submission and fear. The tech took no notice and proceeded to stick a thermometer up her butt. Not a happy situation. As this is my first pet, I was not sure that this is the usual routine, so I asked her. She assured me it was. When I picked up my traumatized cat, her paws actually made sweat marks on the table. I have never seen that happen! The Vet Tech told me she could do not more testing, as my cat would not allow it and that I should wait for the Vet to come in and she left the room.About 10 minutes later the Vet came in. No introduction. He did not bother to look at my cats chart or notes from the tech. He had no knowledge that my cat had been dropped and traumatized. He verbally made mention that my cat looked upset. I told him what happened and he seemed to take no notice of the situation. He looked at the lump, told me it was not a tick and sent me on my way to the lobby. He spent a total of about 3 minutes with my cat...if that. And of course I had a bill to pay.In the lobby, my cat was still howling in her carrier from the trauma. The girls at the front desk took not notice, no compassion, but continued chatting about trivial matter  (like lunch plans) and creating small talk with other pet owners. I finally had to ask to be quickly checked out, as I wanted to leave because my cat was upset and had been dropped. The front desk girl looked surprised, then told me I had to wait. I did. She finally got my chart, figured out the bill, asked who the doctor was ( I did not know, as he gave no introduction...simply that he was bald). She wanted to make another check up appointment, but neglected to even bother to see that my cats shots were due. I will not ever go back to this place! The Humane Society needs to be made aware of their horrible care and not recommend neglectful places like this! Read Less

DO NOT TAKE ANY PET TO THIS PLACE!!!!I work with a rescue in Seattle and we adopt out dogs in Oregon. I have two puppies being fostered in Portland at the moment and they were taken to this vet on Monday, March 23,2015. From the moment the foster walked in she a had a gut feeling the place was no good. They dropped the dogs off for spay and neuter. They went back to pick them up and the people handed the fosters the dogs and sent them on their way. That night the boy's ,Luke's, incision was red, hot, and had puss coming out!  By 2pm that next day it was even worse than that first night. He was taken back to this vet and waited 4 hours to be seen. They finally get called back and the vet barely looks at the dog and just says to give him benadryl! Not even saying what the benadryl is for. Now by this time the female, Leia, is going through the same thing. They had to be seen in the emergency vet today to get antibiotics and a ton of other things. There is no way this is ethically ok! No vet in their right mind would EVER do something like this! 2nd issue with this place. 1st time they could never remember my pets names or sexes or what they were in for (getting fixed only) 3yrs ago. This time I brought 2 in for updated shots (brought in post card from reg. vet to give them) 3rd pup was to be fixed. Gave more shots than needed to my other 2 babies, could have hurt them or killed them. All animals are different and react different. He gave them rabies shots 1 yr earlier than needed plus others. I called my reg. vet and assured me the extra vaccinations were ok for them, but still he should have done what was needed and asked before he proceeded with the rest. Didn't tell me that he was otherwise I would have stopped it! Called to tell them this and the woman (recep) was so rude and had a attitude because I was upset and frustrated by what happened she had the guts to tell me they wont service my animals any more. I laughed and said I only been 2x and that is enough for me and my babies. 2nd of all why would you say you wont service my pets when I am the one who is calling in the complaint and it is 100% your VETS fault for not listening or following the post cards updates. When he should of. There is no reason for you to tell someone they are banned from some where because they have a complaint. So, I am going everywhere and anywhere I can to let people know this is how they treat your animals by not caring and how they treat you when you are unhappy! They don't even give your pets water. My friend has been several times :( and her pets have been left without water. Just saying...do your pets a favor with anywhere you go and investigate before you take your babies to the vet so they can have the best care. This is not libel or slander. This actually happened  on Fri the 20th and conversation happened today the 25th before 5pm. Read Less

If you care about your money, I'm sure this place is great.  If you care about your pet, you may want to go somewhere else.  Staff isn't courteous,  place was not warm and inviting.  We called and verified hours and wanted to make an appointment.  They said come on in anytime, they're a walk in clinic.  We arrived to a note on the door, closed from 1-2:30.  We waited an hour, and they opened, and we checked in.  We were the 2nd to check in.  We waited until 4pm without as much as two words being spoken to us from the staff.  We heard several clients voice their complaints with CPC and the staff while we waited.  We stayed silent, and just tried to remain calm so our pets could get their shots.  At 4pm, almost everyone that was waiting with us, and many others that came in after, had come and gone.  But we just sat there, me, my wife, my dog, and two cats in their carriers...for almost 3 hours waiting on this crew to get their stuff together.  The only 5 Star feeling I got from this place is the feeling I got when I left.  At 4pm, we had all but been ignored for an hour and half, we were handed the excuse again that the staff had to take lunch.  I thought that's what 1-2:30 was for?  I wish this place enjoyed taking on new clients and their money as much as they enjoy taking lunches.  This place was a joke.  The staff showed no empathy for my pets, my wife, or myself, as we sat there waiting for hours for some booster shots.  My pets and my time are worth more and deserve better. Read Less

Read Less

My only criticism is that I was not invited into the examination room and never met the veterinarian that would be performing the operation.

Read Less

They said it should b there in the afternoon, I waited for a call and didn't get one, ended up calling again to see if they got it, they said yes they did so we went up there to get it and they said they didn't have it..... so we asked why they told us they had it and we drove all the way there to get it and they said yes we did get some in but already sold it.... after I had already PREPAID and asked them to call me asap when they got it... so asked to talk to the management and got to talk to the owner and he said he would rather lose a customer then to compensate me for my troubles and issues that occurred! !!!!! Last time I'll ever go to them for anything! Read Less
